GoogleI used boulton surveyor during the purchase of my property. unfortunately once I moved in it was discovered that the roof timbers were rotten and the felt was perished in places. I have had a long battle with them to come back out and look at the missed issues. I have just received a email from them saying they will do nothing about this as there was a box in the loft on the day of the survey which obscured the view of the damage and the surveyor can't look behind items .......... so basically if you want to hide a issue when selling a house pop a box over it and the surveyor can turn a blind eye!!!!!!
The report highlighted signs of historical woodworm In the rafters which I got an external company to come out and check prior to purchase boutons are now saying the external company should have reported the issues to me ......... makes me wonder why you have a survey if they can't highlight issues and need a third party opinion on there work.
please don't use this company to learn from my pain as now I'm having to spend nearly 16k on issues they missed and are unwilling to deal with.
Think twice before dealing with these guys. They are happy to take your money but not happy to supply a good service, they also take a long time to deal with the reply.........
you have been warned if you use these guys expect problems with their work and even more problems resolving it should you have issues.

Firstly we sincerely apologise for the frustration and inconvenience you have had as a result of this.
It will not correct the fact that this has occurred but you might like to know the reason behind it.
Last week we upgraded our in house sales and letting systems, you will not be surprised to hear that this came with some “teething” issues. Sadly this resulted in a number of incorrect, auto generated emails going out and you were the recipient of one of these. In the long run these changes will result in a much more interactive medium for all parties to communicate with us directly and improve the all-round experience whether you are buying, selling, a landlord or a tenant. We are constantly trying to be the best we can be, but over the last couple of weeks while the new system has been bedding in (and we have been getting used to it), we probably haven’t been at our usual high standards. I wish you all the best of luck in your hunt for a house and we will be very pleased to assist you going forward and hopefully with the benefit of some experience with the new system.
