SUCCESSFUL SALE IN A DIFFICULT MARKET

Brand Vaughan have now sold two flats of ours in three years. For the first the market was buoyant and the sale, at an excellent price, went through very smoothly. The latest has not been a happy experience but market and other forces have not been kind to sellers. I would very much like to commend Karen and George for their communication stills and undoubted assistance in getting us over the line.

My son rented a flat through B-V and while there were no problems to deal with, everything was fine. Then the (only) window started to develop mould, as did the shower room, and the toilet started to leak into the downstairs flat. The toilet leak was fixed (but the toilet continued to rock about) and the response to the resultant mould in the shower room was to replace the flooring as cheaply as possible. The window was never attended to. The final straw was when the electricity packed up one Friday morning in the middle of a really cold spell in December. The flat was all-electric, so my son had no way of keeping warm. After stating they had raised it as an emergency, no one attended and my son spent the night trying to sleep in lots of clothes. The next day, by good fortune, he had a trip away until the following Tuesday and so he paid the local B-V office a personal visit on his way out to ensure the problem would be fixed when he returned. He arrived back on the Tuesday night to a freezing cold flat and I had to pay for him to spend the night in an hotel. An electrician finally turned up the following day. During all of this my son was phoning and emailing and getting nothing back other than 'we're on it'. We never received a penny towards the cost of the hotel, no compensation for the inconvenience, not even an acknowledgement that they had completely failed in their responsibilities. This experience convinced my son to end his tenancy at the earliest opportunity, as this is the safest way to ensure you don't get evicted for being a troublemaker, and we have waited until now to post this review to ensure he got all of his deposit back. No doubt the landlords will have spent the money they should have spent while he was there on making the flat presentable for the next tenants,

Fantastic service and super responsive and polite, no matter how often I called or emailed throughout the process. I had a viewing arranged with them and ran a bit late. They waited patiently for me. When they noticed first property was not for me, the lady came up with a brilliant second idea understanding what I was looking for, and agreed to race there with me before her next appointment. During the whole contract process including referencing and such, Lizzie never failed to pick up the phone and help me out in a very friendly manner. Maria’s help and support was invaluable !

Maria helped me resolve an issue rebuilding a very long and tall garden wall. There were many issues regarding who’s responsible for payment and Maria went above and beyond what she’s expected to do. Without her help I would have really struggled to get this done. She was a massive support for me and was always there and willing to do whatever she could to help. It was a long process, Maria stuck with me to the finish and finally we got there. The wall is complete , the right people contributed financially and Maria did all the dealings with the neighbours management company and the builders. The wall now looks fantastic and I’m extremely happy. Thank you so much Maria, you’re a god send .

Rude staff ..lacks Customer

The reason I have given 2 stars is because of the staff. While Beth is lovely. I hesitate to call Brand and Vaughan ( and this I say on behalf of several people I have spoken to,who feel the same)..because of Molly. She is extremly rude and lacks customer skills, along with being unhelpful. We are customers/clients looking for a place. Letting agents need people like us to keep the business going so I dont see the need to be rude or intimidating. Hope Molly gets a taste of her own medicine.

Bad experience with Brand Vaughan

I have had a very bad experience with Brand Vaughan. I rented a flat from them and its been 2 months now the issues we’ve raised including dirty carpet are not yet resolved. We need to keep chasing the agent about the updates every week and they kept on saying we are checking the quote even for small issues that shouldn’t take long and should be inexpensive to fix. Really pathetic experience. I’m surprised they are such big brand and provide such service to their customers.

Bad experience all round

Not a good experience one bit, changing my review slightly as they gave me half my holding deposit back, but still disappointed, that they rejected my application as my guarantor failed, so they have kept half the holding deposit still, which they said is used to cover 'fees', but they were going to take it over the first months rent, so doesn't make much sense.
