Not only do they clearly know the property market, but they were able to find suitable buyers before we had even listed the property. GoogleAs a corporate landlord, we instructed Johns & Co's Brentford office in 2024. In late 2025 we received updated terms of business with a materially increased withdrawal fee (from ~£1,200+VAT to £2,136 for one year's fees), the change was not highlighted at signing.
Following our withdrawal (which the terms permitted where references conditions were not met), Johns & Co invoiced the full amount and escalated to solicitors before our formal complaint had been processed. The CEO personally declined to engage with our contractual arguments on four separate occasions. The internal complaints process (15-day response window) was not followed.
We have filed a formal Property Ombudsman complaint, reference TPO 19722, filed 12 May 2026.
Other landlords: read your ToB changes carefully and check what conditions must be satisfied before any fee is payable.
