GoogleEngel Jacobs have been managing the block of flats we live in for around 10 years now. The excellent condition of the block speaks volumes about their services - everything is and has always been been beautifully kept, with communal cleaning services and gardeners in attendance on a weekly basis, the lifts and security gates are regularly maintained, and the paintwork and carpets in the communal areas are likewise also well maintained and renewed/ refreshed every few years. Engel Jacobs are also very responsive whenever we email them with issues, as there inevitably have been from time to time. We would happily recommend them as a managing agent.

Unfortunately they manage the freehold of our flat and despite all 3 lease holders requesting and paying for the extremely necessary works to the roof they have made excuse after excuse for over 3 years and have held our money - refusing to update us and going for months without any contact despite endless emails and calls from all 3 lease holders. I have never left a google review before but feel very strongly that people need to know not to have anything to do with this company.

We are sorry that you feel that we are the ‘worst people/company’ you have ever had to deal with. This is certainly not our intention especially as we always attempt to go above and beyond. We work in an extremely challenging industry, and have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic attempting to manage as best as we can, whilst reliant on third party contractors. Although on occasion we can fall short in delivering a service we have been proud to deliver for so many years and which has contributed to our growth. However we will always attempt to learn from this.
There are legitimate reasons for the roof overhaul being delayed and as you are now aware this will commence next month.
We have found that managing smaller developments, as in this case a property of 3 residential units particularly difficult, as we cannot put in the same resources which we can for developments where a reasonable fee can be levied in order to cover our costs. For this reason we will no longer be in a position to manage your property in the very near future. We hope that you find satisfaction with your next Managing Agent.

They continue to keep our funds and the repair has still not started. Indeed, their communication levels during this time, despite repeated requests for transparency, have become atrocious. I would not recommend them, and look forward to hearing their comments below. The audit trail for all 3 leaseholders concerned is pretty conclusive.
