GoogleI put my house on the market with Chancellors after a flat in Henley ( being sold through Chancellors ) . Offers were accepted in Oct 21. To speed up process i used one of their recommended solicitors) . The flat was empty , I had cash and my buyer was in rented accommodation ( had mortgage offer)
I had no idea that once sales are agreed , you are passed on to the "sales progression team" , who were incompetent at best .
It took 6 months to complete. An awful experience from start to finish .,.......

FacebookChancellors Group of Estate AgentsWow, what a Proffesional outfit again. Oh Mr Evenett we haven’t bothered checking our records so your gas safety is out of date. Can you turn off your gas supply. Um what about heat and hot water but no one can answer the question! This company is unreal, don’t know why landlords bother with them. Take money for doing nothing and happy for the second time in a year to leave a family out in the cold…….can’t go anywhere as one of the daughters has covid!! Fuming is an understatement

FacebookAvoid at all costs! They lie about everything and mislead people. I moved into a letting property as I was relocating for work and so was my partner. The three bedroom property was advertised as being refurbished and newly decorated. I was told it was going through further refurbishments and a new heating system was being put in. I lived 2.5 hours and decided from the photographs that were spotless that it was the right property. I had similarly done the same before in my previous rental as the pictures were true to light and never had any issues. Well this was the most disgusting property I’ve ever moved into, the property had damp and mould everywhere and stunk of it. There was no heating and we were only left with 3 small plug in heaters for a three bedroom house! Shoddy electrics, No cleaning had taken place for years and dirt all over the carpets and walls. even the door handle fell off when I put the key into the door. It was a shambles. After 9 days I had enough and moved all out belongings out and handed the keys back. My partner suffers from asthma and we had no choice but to move into my dads garage until we were able to find a suitable property which took 3 months to find. It crazy it was healthier than the house we were in, it was impossible to breath at night and we both ended up getting infections and ended up in hospital. My partner lost his job as he doesn’t drive and I was unable to take him from my dads house. I’ve been told by the neighbours they have done the same to previous tenants and they had to move out. They are massive liars and don’t listen to anything. We reported all these issues over 50+ emails and nothing got done. We are now in the process of taking them to court. I want my money back! Loss of income and removal fees and compensation for all the hassle of having to live in a garage for 3 months in suitcases and travel 140 miles per day for my new job. The whole reason I moved there in the first place. I have so much evidence it’s unreal. Looking forward to taking these guys down. Turns out they do it to everyone! Not me.

GoogleI dealt with Chancellors - Henley-on-Thames to let the house in Twyford. Although I didn't let the property through them, I thought of writing up a quick note to appreciate the team especially Sam Hinton.
The level of patience and professionalism is second to none. Sam has been superbly helpful throughout the process.

GoogleKatie of Chancellors was terrific in trying to find me a flat to rent in Henley. She was assiduous on my behalf, courteous, and very professional, getting answers for all my questions. She was understanding when I had to cancel an appointment at the 59th minute of the 11th hour. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

FacebookA number of days after my tenants moved out of my property and while I was preparing to move back in. Chancellors sent in a contractor to undertake an electrical survey. The first I knew of it was when I received an invoice for the survey in the amount of £525 plus VAT and a list.of £1300 worth of work.Following a complaint I received an email saying you authorised the survey in March at a cost £200 plus VAT. Unfortunately the survey was delayed sorry for the inconvenience. That is palmed off to say the least.1. It's August not March or April2. I am no longer renting the property out3. My agreement with Chancellors has ended4. The quote was £200 not £5255. They were not authorised to enter my house.I am more than inconvenienced

FacebookWell where do you start. Firstly this is not a reflection on the Sales team. They have been pleasurable to communicate with but little they can do in terms of letting. Office Manager????????? Who ?THE LETTINGS TEAM ARE A JOKE. TIMOTHY IN PARTICULAR!!!!! NO RESPONSE, LITTLE CORRESPONDANCE AND POOR COMMUNICATION. The background. A young couple apply to rent a property. The young lady is 28 weeks pregnant and looking to up size due to arrival and a growing family. Usual viewings etc takes place and an application is applied for to rent a property. All the paperwork etc is submitted and the couple await the response from letting team and landlord after compulsory checks are complete. During this period Chancellors are advising the couple to hand notice of termination to their current letting agreement with another landlord. They DO NOT take this advice until 100% the letting agreement is signed by all parties. This was a struggle as the letting team did not know a particular body part from their elbow. 15 Days after signed agreement an email is received from Chancellors informing the couple that the landlord has withdrawn. NO REASON OR EXPLANATION. JUST AN EMAIL. NO PHONE CALL FROM LETTING TEAM OFFERING ANY OTHER PROPERTIES OR ADVICE!!!!! JUST AN EMAIL.There is now a young couple 28 weeks pregnant having handed in their Notice to terminate soon to be homeless. GREAT WORK CHANCELLORS!!!!!!!!!!

FacebookChancellors asked several times to come and update the valuation on our property. We arranged for 1400hrs today.
At 1410 nobody had arrived and so I called the office …..
1st lie - I was told that I had cancelled the appointment by the lad who answered the phone, no I hadn't, why would I be ringing to find out where Chris was?
2nd lie - Oh we tried to ring you several times this morning to check you would be in......that's strange as I was in all morning and have no missed calls!!
Its better to tell the truth than to try and come up with pathetic excuses which can be checked.
I have told them I have no faith in them and to take me off their books.
Very disappointing service after my wife and I spent hours tidying the inside and outside of the house.

FacebookI was assisted by Amy Midlane and Leisa Copper to rent my new home and both have been fantastic from start to finish, super friendly, really helpful and kept in touch every step of the way checking in with me, making sure I understood everything. Leisa went above and beyond to help me get together everything I needed for the references and took time to make sure I could do everything I needed to before I move in. And Amy made sure everything went through without any issues. I've been really impressed and would definitely recommend Chancellors on the basis of this experience.

FacebookI cannot say enough good things about Chancellors in general. We have been customers of theirs since 2003 and have always enjoyed excellent personal service from them. They have always gone that extra mile - that's why we've stayed with them so long and will continue to support them. Of particular note is the long-suffering and endlessly patient Mary Hughes who puts up with demanding clients such as ourselves! She really pulls out all the stops to make sure we secure the best options, and she is incredibly quick and efficient in dealing with issues. Thanks Mary for all your hard work. And well done to Chancellors in general for your excellent service. Here's to many more years.

FacebookOmg, boiler broke down on the coldest day of the year. I spoke to Sarah, Courtney and Danny the gas engineer and had the most fabulous customer service ever. Danny facetimed me (bless him- had had to look at my morning face) after Courtney called him out and explained the issue. Danny talked me through it and I fixed it in ten seconds instead of him having to come all the way out. I am so genuinely pleased with this service. Thanks for coming to work today.

FacebookId like to thank our property manager Simon Butt for being so helpful every step of the way with our property. It is our first rented accomodation and the house was not ready when we moved in. Locks and windows did not work, the washing machine broke within a month and service men have been called out on around 4 seperate occasions but Simon was there with an answer as soon as we asked him for help and handled everything. If not for him then the whole sitation would have been so much more stressful but he was there replying to emails and calling repairmen as soon as we found a problem. Any problems were resolved within a week or two. Thank you for all your hard work, quick responses and for being a great support line for us!

FacebookDear Chancellors team. we are extremely disappointed with the situation which resulted from your negligence.
We moved in to an apartment managed by you with a car park run by a private company. You were supposed to provide us with a parking permit for a space in that car park (as it is included in the rent) but you have not. As the move in date was Friday afternoon and we had to wait until 7pm for the cleaning company hired by you, we could not contact you about that issue over the weekend.
There was nowhere else to park outside the premise so we parked where I was supposed to and received two parking tickets on separate days as a result of that. I called you about that fact and it took you a week and a half to provide me with a replacement permit.
We felt that it is unfair for us to pay the fine since we had the right to park there. First we appealed to the parking management company trying to explain the situation and highlighting the fact that I had the right to park from day one… without any luck.
In this case we expect you to refund us a total of 120 pounds for the parking tickets as they were a result of your negligence. When presented with our position in a telephone conversation your answer was - “We are sorry for the resulting situation but there is nothing we can do about that. You will have to pay it yourself”, without even explaining why!
We don’t feel that is right. It was your responsibility to ensure that we receive the permit on the day of our move in. When we called about it being missing you were not aware of that and explained that it seems that the previous tenants did not hand it in. To our knowledge the apartment was made vacant on the 16th of June giving you two weeks to become aware of the missing permit. In any case we expected a higher standard from a large and renowned company like Chancellors and certainly better customer service. We sincerely hope that you will reconsider your stance on this matter and improve our perception of your standards.
