This is a really inefficient, rude organisation. A relative looking to rent has come into contact with quite brash agents, who also seem to be a little condescending. One agent found it good practice to snap on the phone at potential clients, too. When looking for a bought property, I would certainly advise any connections not to deal with this branch. Perhaps we just dealt with the wrong team members, but I’m unconvinced.

Once chancellor’s has your money they will be on the owner’s side until you leave. These are some of the many issues we had during our 2 years under them: - They upped the rental price by 100£ without any justification once we had showed interest. - I had reported to chancellor’s that the en-suite shower was not working. After 4 months, 2 calls and 3 emails where they would repeatedly explain that they are getting touch with the owner about it my frustration grew. I therefore threatened legal action as were paying for an ensuite that was simply not working and no longer being used due to this. They later came back and explained that it is the owner’s decision to either do the works or not and they have no power over it. - We were also not told that they would come and take pictures to check for damages every 3 months with or without us being ar the property making us feel like we had no privacy or rights whatsoever. ( they would not give us any estimation as to when they would turn up stating they had a double and did not need us to be there). If you would like : - to have your privacy breached - to be charged astronomical fees for them to be on the owner’s side at all times - to pay for an en-suite that does not work - to be belittled, not considered and simply put aside because they can hide behind a 120 page covering again only the owners rights and assets I have never had such a horrendous experience with any organisation before, they are money hungry crooks taking advantage of a market where demand is high and if you are not happy they can simply get someone else through the door. THAT’S WHY THEY WILL ALWAYS BE ON THE OWNER’S SIDE!!!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

We lost on a property we really fell in love, then got in to a property that did not suit us well and backed out, now finally have found a property that we feel comfortable with, all with enduring help from Henry Foreman. From start to finish, Henry has forever provided us with a first rate service, without failing, no matter in the rain or shine . We have had a poor experience attempting to rent with Chancellor's. We were passed around to various different people during our search and there seemed to be limited communication between those different people which caused a lot of stress. Having viewed a property we were made to believe that we were considered very good candidates, however we didn't get this property. We believe this may have been done to push up the rent for the landlord which succeeded as the eventual tenants paid more than advertised to live there. We eventually decided to apply for another property through Chancellor's but had absolutely no useful communication regarding this. We tried to contact the office multiple times but never received any information and can only assume that this has been allowed to fall through. Communication with Chancellor's is consistently poor. They seem to almost have a monopoly in Headington which may be a result of previous successes as an agency, but unfortunately it appears to us that the result of this has been a sharp decrease in professionalism.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Nathan was very helpful and supportive in the early stages, facilitating contacts and opportunities and coming with good recommendations in terms of how to advance towards fair agreement for both tenant and landlord. The first couple of opportunities they showed was very much off the mark, but once they got a better idea of what I was looking for, offer was spot on. We got the first place we applied for.

He went out of his way to help find the perfect property. He gave consistently good advice on renting and was always available to deal with any questions. I have rented a place for a year with Chancellors Headington branch for a year. Overall very poorly managed. We had critical water problem in the bathrooms that we reported on day one and took months and months to sort out leaving us with nearly no showers in the middle of the covid pandemic. Very poor communication and not taking requests promptly with too long time to respond to emails and phone calls and sometimes not even responding. The landlord has also breached our privacy by visiting to do some work and did not provide a 24 hours notice prior to visiting the property (as boldly stated in the contract). These are just some of the issues that we have experienced with Chancellors in only one year. I would never rent with Chancellors again and I highly do not recommend so!
