The worst experience ever!!! I rented a studio flat in October 2022, for which they charged £1100 PCM. 1. Within a week of renting: water started leaking from electric switch 2. Another week, the roof started leaking 3. The next thing: Mould started developing and it completely ruined the walls 4. Lack of proper ventilation, chimneys were fixed without a vent. It was just for display I was new to the UK and didn't have much idea about complaints or council help but kept on approaching Winkworth on the situation but no help! Rickyn was the name of an agent who I was dealing with, every time I approached Winkworth he'd hide inside and I was told he's busy in a meeting and would call back which he or Winkworth never did. Winkworth hadn't even cleared the electricity dues before our move-in which unknowingly I paid and Winkworth never did a refund to me. After an ordeal of 6 months I vacated the flat but then I had to follow up a million times for my security deposit. Only after innumerable calls and as many emails, two months later they released my deposit money.

We approached Winkworths Harrow initially in February 2022 but the transaction fell through a few times due to the fragile state of the property market. Writing this review a few months after leaving: I rented with Winkworth for almost 2 years. The building is lovely, new build, tasteful paintings all over the galleries, the flats are done nicely, everything is modular, in-skirting heating, under floor heating in the bathrooms(which you really need). The market, GP, pharmacy everything is right there so it was the most convenient place I have ever lived at. There was an issue with the window in my flat, which didn’t open completely, was overlooked when it was rented out to me, and I was told that it’s a Security feature, sort of fell for it until I noticed everybody else’s windows open completely. It took Winkworth a long time to change/repair it as it took time to get the ball rolling to begin with as their building manager left and apparently didn’t handover and then some parts were unavailable. I had to go away for some time as it was very hot in that flat. Eventually it was repaired. There was an incident, where someone had come to visit a tenant, and tried to be overly friendly with the other residents to the point of trying to knock on my door late at night, Rickyn her made sure that I was safe late at night, checked CCTV footage, and ensured that person never came back. The tenant they had come to visit, was given a strict warning. It was handled quite well and I felt very safe in the building. I became disabled during my stay here With some health issues, Winkworth gave me access to enter the building from the side ( disabled access) quite quickly - ideally everyone should have it. Towards the end of my tenancy, my application at the next place of accommodation was rejected for disability reasons( after giving notice to Winkworth). Despite a few initial difficult conversations, Kamal( Director) and Rickyn then sat down with me and discussed what the next options could be, they agreed to let me stay on with increased rent which was helpful for me at that point as I had no place to go. They also made adjustments to my contract allowing for me to leave in a few months as my job situation was about to change. In between, even let me look at single rooms in the building. Rickyn was extremely helpful throughout this process . He’s a reasonable person and clearly cares for his building and tenants. Vikesh was helpful with management issues and repairs. Uncle ji at concierge always had great life advice for me. I got my full deposit back at the end. I had to leave only because of economical reasons( as earnings fell due to disability) otherwise I would have never left that place. I was very happy there and look forward to coming back in the future.
