Not all Estate Agents are the same... I used D. W. Smith to sell my late Mothers property and from my initial contact through marketing the property's to completion today, I found David & Karen to be absolutely fantastic. All my dealings have been professional & friendly. I would have no reservations recommending them or using them again. I am genuinely impressed that they do more than advertise a property. Karen did a great deal of co-ordination and chasing to ensure the completion went through without any issues. As someone who has not bought or sold for a long time, having an agent who I felt was honest & trustworthy that “held my hand” through the process was extremely valuable. I had three local estate agents to value my parent's house and by far the most professional of these was David Smith. It was an easy choice to decide to use D W Smith & Co over the other two companies even though slightly more expensive. I live >100 miles from the house being sold and they were happy to deal with just about everything which needed the house to be attended saving me time and money in having to travel to the house. They very quickly found a buyer for the house and Karen Smith kept in contact and ensured the sale went through smoothly. Finally, to save me travelling to the house on the day of sale, they kindly read the meters and sent me the readings so I could notify the energy providers. I highly recommend D W Smith and would not hesitate to use them again.

Fantastic company. My family and I have used DW Smith and Co for around twenty years. One of their major strengths is their ability to find well suited tenants. This is great as a landlord, resulting in long term occupancy and minimising any potential issues and importantly vital in ensuring tenants aren’t stretched financially and have a happy rental experience. They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the housing market, always on hand for advice. I would highly recommend.

I had a terrible experience with their service. I registered myself twice, but they still asked me to register again. I followed up to schedule a viewing, and if I hadn't called them, they wouldn’t have even bothered to inform me that the property was already sold. Their performance is very poor.

Great to deal with an Agent who cares about the whole Customer connection and service. We have sold several properties vis DW Smith and they manage our BTL properties. Very professional, always available to help and advise and as a Customer we feel they always they go the extra mile. Transparent with costing and pricing and could not have done any more to support / guide / help over a long standing tenancy problem where we feel other Agents may well have left issues in our court. I will say that the question in your application "how much are you willing to pay" filled me with a sense of hopelessness. I understand that the property market is in favour of landlords but I am a single father have a child to find a home for now I'm confronted with how much are you willing to pay.... yeah how about the advertised amount 🙄. Fast to answer the phones shame they are not so good at updating sold properties online. Called several times now about verious houses by time you speak to them house has sold, sometimes withing a short period of it going live on website. Glad to know they sale houses just a shame they don't tell us... If you leave a message they are slow to get back to you. Have elderly relatives that are looking and not tech savvy by the time they see something it most definitely has sold even though asking to be called if a suitable propery comes up. Overall great for the seller not so good for prospective buyers

I moved into my first rented property with DW Smith & Co and I don’t think I could ever fault them. I’d heard horror stories about landlords and letting agents from a number of friends and families, but I can’t think of a single time that DW Smith & Co have let me down. If ever I had a problem, then I could just pick up the phone or send an email, and I would be responded to immediately, regardless of the day or time. They fixed a number of issues with the property for me, usually within a few days of letting them know. DW Smith & Co went above and beyond for me and my partner when we complained about noise from a nearby property. I have since moved out of this property, and bought a house, but I will recommend DW Smith & Co to my friends and family. They have a great, friendly team in Hanham who are always happy to help.
