Yesterday, my partner and I viewed a property listed as a "long-term lease." Upon arrival, the agent, Emma, immediately seemed to shift blame onto us for any confusion, despite the fact that the error was clearly in their own listing. As we tried to ask reasonable questions about the property, we were met with short, unclear, and impatient responses. The lack of professionalism was further highlighted when we discovered that Emma didn’t even have the keys to access key areas like the garden and garage. This made it impossible to assess the property’s suitability. When I pointed out that the unclear details and lack of access made it difficult to make an informed decision, Emma responded rudely and continued to deflect responsibility, even implying that we were asking too many questions. The overall conduct was highly unprofessional. We will certainly be avoiding properties let by DW Smith in the future.

This is far and away the best letting agent I've ever dealt with. They have been proactive and attentive to detail in the management of my flat, providing quick and fairly priced resolutions to problems and getting safety checks done. They have provided advance warning of maintenance work I'll need to prepare for in the future. I now have a super tenant who is looking after my property well, and was found quickly. Julie Ann and the team seem to make every effort to look after both the tenant's interests and mine, and communication is a dream: quick, clear and effective. All this, and for a really fair fee too. If you can avoid letting with these agents I’d advise doing that at all costs. Absolutely terrible communication, refusal to reply to emails and phone calls. Rude agents who will side with landlords over tenants, no matter the situation. Absolutely appalling treatment and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid if you can, especially if you are a young woman. They will hope you don’t know the law and take advantage of that. Avoid if you can :) - in response to your reply to this review, you did not respond to my emails, you were extremely rude to me on the phone, and you acted in the interests of a landlord that was trying his best to take advantage of me, you provided him with incorrect legal advice and point blank refused to explain yourselves. The evidence is all there so please, stop lying.

Absolutely Appalling Experience, Cold, Uncaring, and Incompetent If I could give this letting agency zero stars, I would. My recent experience with them has been nothing short of vile. My father sadly passed away, and as his next of kin, I’ve had to manage his affairs, a distressing and emotional process made infinitely worse by the staff at this agency. Not once did anyone offer a word of condolence. Not a shred of basic human decency. Instead, I was met with cold indifference and a complete lack of empathy. When I requested an external key to access my late father's property, I was flatly refused. Their excuse? "We have a bunch of keys and can’t be bothered to go through them to find the right one." That’s a direct quote. No willingness to help, no understanding of the situation, just sheer laziness and utter disregard for what I was going through. This is not just bad customer service, it's inhumane. The very least I expected was compassion during an already traumatic time. Instead, I was treated like an inconvenience. If this is how they handle grieving families, I dread to think how they treat their tenants on a regular day. Avoid this agency at all costs. They are unprofessional, disorganized, and completely lacking in empathy or basic courtesy. Letting agencies are supposed to manage homes, not treat people like they’re nothing. This experience was shameful, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
