GoogleWe had an amazing experience with Tortoise Property. Tortoise Property offers a wide variety of spacious properties, that suits the tenants needs. They rented us a two bedroom apartment in Hampton Vale Peterborough. Words can not fully express the best services we had from Tortoise Property. Their professionalism, communication and fair fees was excellent. We will give Tortoise Property a 10/10 and would recommend anyone to them any time.

GoogleI cannot recommend this company enough. I have worked with Tortoise for many years, firstly in the capacity of a Landlord and most recently they sold my house. From a landlords perspective, I want an agent to put honest, reliable people in my property, make regular and thorough inspections, report faults and provide advice & access to quality tradesmen when I need them. For round about 9 years that's exactly the kind of service I got from Tortoise. I will also add my Tenants were also very complimentary about how they were treated by Tortoise. In short, they took the pain and worry out of being a landlord. Most recently Mike and his team sold my house which went on the market the week before Lockdown. Throughout the whole process they have been very thorough and professional and secured a sale price very close to the asking price which I was extremely happy with. I got the kind of service I expected i.e. Excellent In summary, I think you will struggle to find a better Estate Agent in the Peterborough area.

GoogleHorrible. They waste your time asking stupid questions before I even viewed a property. Since when does my nationality define whether I can afford a property or not? They can’t spell check emails and couldn’t even spell my name properly.

I apologise for the spelling errors in her email, she was responding quickly before heading to an appointment. In hindsight, it would have been better to reply when she had more time. Regarding our process, we ask some initial questions before taking a holding deposit or references. This includes confirming nationality for Right to Rent checks, which are required by law. These questions help us assess what documents would be needed and whether an application is likely to meet the referencing criteria. Our aim is to avoid wasted time for applicants by ensuring they meet the requirements before arranging a viewing. I’m sorry that you disagree with this process, but we follow these steps to be as transparent as possible. I wish you the best of luck in your search for a new home. GoogleA professional approach and expert knowledge when selling our rental property, we couldn’t ask for more. Mike quickly compiled photo’s and 360 degree view of the rooms for online presentation. We had existing tenants renting at the time of placing the property on the market, Mike dealt with the liaison sensitively and provided helpful advice which assisted the tenants in locating their next property. Mike arranged the viewings efficiently and completed a report with offers and recommendations which led to a quick and successful conclusion.

FacebookI recently used Tortoise to sell my house. Chris and Gary were absolutely amazing. It wasn’t an easy process but these two guys are on top form. My house sold within 3 days of going up, Chris and Gary were there every step of the way, evening and weekend phone calls, even helped out when I was getting shoddy mortgage advice elsewhere. I cannot rate these guys highly enough. In fact, I will never use anybody else ever again.

GoogleAbsolutely shocking. Made initial phone call / enquiry 10 days ago on Friday only to be told the following Monday nobody had details. Had to give my details n register again , 5 further calls and still no feedback, Finally got an email apologising of the mix up and booked a viewing to be then told at the viewing they had accepted another application for the house. Disgusting !!! Strongly recommend you STAY AWAY from this very poor company with limited capacity to provide for clients.
My name is Mike Matthews and we spoke on the 10/9/2020 on the telephone. I think it is important to set out the timeline in my response: 4/9/2020 (Friday)- you called us as we erected a To-Let board on a property at Four Chimneys. My colleague explained that the property would not be available to apply for a viewing until the following week. 7/9/2020 (Monday) - You called on Monday as we marketed the property online and I a sent you the correct Covid-19 viewing form at 2.36pm. You completed the form correctly and returned to me at 3.34pm. We received over a dozen requests for viewings before the close of business the following day. Each person had a form to complete and the form clearly states that it would may not be possible to confirm a viewing if multiple applicants request one due to Covid-19 9/9/2020 - You called us to have an update on your viewing request. The call was picked up by my colleague, who like us all was working from home. My colleague, in error, did not think you had received your pre-viewing form and in error sent you our sales viewing form rather than our lettings form. This prompted you to write your first critical review on Google about us. A little harsh for a simple error, a telephone call would have solved this. 10/9/2020 - I called you personally to explain that I had your returned form, apologised that my colleague had sent you an incorrect form in error and explained that we had had a number of requests for this property. I explained that the landlord could not except viewings until the 14/9/2020 and we would contact in regards to this. You accepted my apology, showed understanding to the circumstances that we all face working from home during Covid-19 and agreed to await my call. We do like to treat people fairly, so even though I believed the review was harsh and you did accept the circumstances of the error and my apology and therefore your received a call to explain that you would be one of three prospective tenants shown the property. 14/10/2020 - You were the second prospective tenant of three to be shown the property in 30 minute slots. All three prospective tenants that viewed the property asked if they could make an application. The decision was made by the landlord, who attended the viewings and met the prospective tenants, as to who he would like to take forward. Another colleague of mine called all three parties to explain that a decision had been made and who the landlord had chosen. In summary Some of your accusations are unfair and not correct. Covid-19 has placed a safety burden on us all. This has meant re-designing process’s, procedures and for us to work from home. When booking viewings it has extended the process, however we have successfully let dozens of properties since May and completed safe viewings in line with Covid-19 procedures. We are one of only a handful of agencies that have put into practice all of the government guidelines for Covid-19 for Estate Agents and I pleased to say our process’s have been generally robust and have been received well by our clients. I understand your disappointment in not being able to apply for this property, you was one of many on this occasion. I do acknowledge you were emailed the incorrect form. The timeline shows we communicated with you in a reasonable timeframe in regards to when the property was marketed and to when viewings could be arranged However, I do believe your use of the review system to damage a family business, or any business, during this pandemic due to receiving an incorrect form and also not being chosen by a landlord after viewing a property, is wrong. Your review does however give me the opportunity to explain to others how we continue to work safely and fairly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mike Matthews managing Director Tortoise Property

GoogleOutstanding Service! Easy to deal with and provided excellent communication throughout our tenancy. Any repairs managed well and as a tenant I felt incredibly lucky to have them as our landlord. We did have another landlord prior to this one as the previous owner sold the property but as the new owner changed the managing agent to Tortoise it’s been a breath of fresh air. I have to reiterate - the communication and the way they handled us as their residents was second none. it was a very personable and friendly service! Keep up the good work. �

GoogleFantastic service and always reliable. I can't recommend them highly enough. After having been with letting agents who have ripped us off, it's a refreshing change to be with one with honest values. The staff are so friendly and you can tell that they genuinely care and want to help. There are no hidden fees; everything is clear and upfront, no nasty surprises whenever the tenancy renewal comes around. They're a brilliant company all round; I wouldn't look anywhere else for a property.
