TrustpilotAngela and her team are AMAZING
Angela and her team are AMAZING! She secured a very quick sale for my house achieving a good amount above the asking price and helped me secure my purchase under the asking price. But where they really really shine is the personal service ironing out the ‘impossible’ scenarios. I was going through a tricky personal time with my Mum in hospital when a neighbour started misbehaving about a nasty notifiable weed which looked as if it would completely scupper the sale, she stepped in with advice, support and telephone numbers. They offer a polite, honest efficient service, so helpful and I contact as a friend as well as a BRILLIANT Estate Agent. No hesitation to recommend.

TrustpilotExcellent service
I let my property through Winkworths in Kensal Rise.I recently had the property completely refurbished and decorated. Michael did a brilliant job of organising all the tradesmen and making the process quick, efficient and very smooth. His input and suggestions were extremely helpful. Aaron also did a brilliant job of getting the property let quickly. The process was very professional and efficient. They are always very friendly and helpful to deal with.

GoogleDISAPPOINTING overall!
I have to say, always had a pleasant experience with the agents, they do take their time for you and they are committed to their work.
Unfortunately I can't say the same about the propriety management team whom I have struggled with since the beginning, they mostly act in behalf of the landlord and they would rip you off whenever they can.
I left my old propriety (rented through WW) on the 31st of May 2022 and legally they have 14 days to agree on your deposit refund. We are now 25 days later and I have to chase them so they can chase the landlord.
My fault is that I am unable to obtain a council tax bill online so H&F have sent me one by post which should be received within the next 10 working days. Even if I have provided bank receipts (actual invoices where you can see all the details), they are refusing to accept this, perhaps a way to buy even more time with the deposit.
From my very own experience and with this honest review, I am asking you to avoid renting via Winkworth if your propriety will be managed by their team, it's a STRUGGLE!

Hey Alexandru,
Thank you for your review, I am sure you are aware that, we require the landlord and tenants’ agreement in order to release the deposit funds. There is no law which stipulates that a deposit must be returned within 14 days. In the check-out report there were a number of issues which we are working to resolve and which inevitably will help with releasing the deposit to you.
We aim to release deposits within 10 days but as mentioned, delays can occur if we are waiting for issues to be resolved.
In terms of the council tax bill, we advise landlords we take this in order to prove your account is up to date with them. Once we have confirmation from the landlord regarding the deposit, and if you haven’t received your final bill at this point, we are more than happy to see if the landlord will forego viewing a copy of the final bill before releasing the deposit.

TrustpilotThomas Syms - Breath of fresh air!
Thomas Syms, take a bow! An ultra-professional from first meeting right the way up through to exchange and settlement. Plenty of obstacles from the bank, valuer and wider economy, but you took the problems in your stride and showing a level of calmness and pragmatism that will see you go far in your industry. Cannot thank you enough for the clear instructions and prompt reply to my (million) questions! Looking forward to working with you again at some point in the future. Cheers, Simon.

TrustpilotAwful!!! Please use ANYONE else!
They don't even deserve the one star but you have to put it to be able to leave a review. Awful doesn't come close to their service!!First time for us selling a house and the branch manager convinced us they were the ones to do it. Promised us "professional photographs", "dedicated sales team", "great communication and follow up from viewings" and "expert sales agents".We received literally NONE of what he promised. The photographs were not great, let alone professional. The estate agent using a professional level camera, does not equate to professional photos. Some of them weren't even focused properly, they were taken at very poor angles and the first photo that everyone saw online, which was of the front of the house, had almost the entirety of the neighbour's house in it! So people didn't even know which house was for sale!! Even one of the people viewing made that comment when they got to the house. As for communication and follow up from Winkworth, there was none. We unfortunately had to chase them for ANY feedback and even then we just got poor excuses of they "hadn't spoken to them yet" (6-7 days after a viewing), "we left a message" etc. We're not the kind of people that get offended if someone doesn't like the house enough to buy it, but the agent should at least let the client know if the viewer didn't want to take it any further. We were even told that a couple of the viewers were "very keen" yet had zero follow up on them. One couple who we were told were "super keen" even had a follow up question for us regarding broadband speed, for which the answer was "gigabyte high-speed fibre" which is the most positive answer you can get and then. . . nothing. No follow up call from the agents like they'd promised they'd give us.One of the agents Max, was great and he was the only positive thing about the entire experience with Winkworth, but even he didn't follow up from the viewers follow up question, just left us hanging. The sales agents are honestly nothing more than a poor mans tour guide. Giving bad advice like "knocking through into the garage" for more living space (which is actually taking away space to do that), instead of suggesting a conservatory or small extension. 🙄Also, how difficult is it to turn lights off after a viewing?! Given the current extortionate charges for electric it is simply unprofessional not to turn lights off, not to mention costing the client money. The branch manager of the Hellesdon office is utterly patronising, condescending and goodness does he love to mansplain! Please, please save yourself the disappointment and frustration and use a different estate agent. Don't waste any time with Winkworth, get yourself someone who will actually do the job properly and professionally and sell your property.

TrustpilotPLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE SIGNING UP
Dear potential clients of Winkworth Estate Agents, I would like to make you all aware before you think of signing a contract with this incapable organisation. Firstly a viewing took place at my property, which I later found footprints all over my brand new cream carpets, on another occasion my wall got damaged by a client that viewed my property so I made contact with the Director regarding costs to fix this, but was told it’s not their responsibility to supervise your property during viewings. Secondly, the communication and lies regarding clients positions and the ongoing lack of support quickly come to light that we had chosen the wrong agent. Lastly, my advice to you, would be to never to go with Winkworth as the whole experience was something I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through. We have wasted an entire 4 months with this agent, with much regret!Been blocked by winkworth for honest feedbackWinkworth Estate Agent Eaton Office Norwich

GoogleMichael Connaughton is amazing. He has just acted as agent for the sale of my house (which he sold me 10 years ago) and my purchase of another one. He has been wonderful throughout: always pragmatic, helpful and charming, on the ball but never pushy. His knowledge of the local area is vast, walk round with him and he seems to know everyone, so he is able to tell you all the pros and cons of different locations. He was also able to recommend a host of contacts, from a mortgage broker to a painter to a garage to repair my tyre when I got a flat during a viewing. The rest of the team offered great support too, always friendly and polite. I cannot recommend Winkworth Shepherd’s Bush, and Mike in particular, more highly.

TrustpilotWinkworth - Appalling Service
Winkworth, Sunningdale, Appalling Shoddy ServiceThe service we had to endure from Winkworth over the last 2 years was atrocious. Fortunately the rental has now ended and we have been able to leave Winkworth. We will certainly never use them again. They have absolutely desire to deliver a good service, you call their office and invariably the call is not picked up. The lady in the letting department is off on holiday or sick more often than not, it is a rare day you call and can be put through to her. Your emails are not replied to, you have to chase for an answer. The tenants told us that the lady from the letting department pointed out faults in the house (faults that we were not aware of). They failed to collect the correct amount of rent for the last year of the rental, they had taken their fee for rent collection but had not provided any level of service for this charge. Their recent rental valuation was low in comparison to other agents, they had totally disregarded the current conditions in the rental market, you cannot trust their guidance. I would highly recommend that you do NOT use Winkworth unless all the other local agents have closed down.

Sarah many thanks for the review, I am sorry you have not felt the service was to your standard. Having successfully let the property for 2 years the rent has always been paid on time and on both occasions good tenants have been placed in the property. We were not managing the property, so we would not comment on faults within the property, I know we successfully negotiated the cleaning costs for you at the end of the tenancy which I know you were very happy about. We manage and rent collect a vast amount of property in Sunningdale and the surrounding areas and this is the first 1 star review we have ever had. I wish you all the success with the new tenant and agent. Anthony from Winkworth.

TrustpilotWinkworth Shepherd’s Bush
I only dealt with Winkworth Shepherd’s Bush on Uxbridge Road and can honestly say it was my worst experience as a tenant. All of the good reviews seem to be from landlords and people having their houses let for them, they only care about making money from these people and not about the tenants. Sophie Feighan was the most unprofessional, either clearly very new to her job or just awful at it, taking forever to collect our information and asking us for the same things two or three times which we had already provided easily and make a contract, I actually had to ask in the end please can we have a contract by the end of today or I don’t think we would have got one before the tenancy was due to start. Endless phone calls to get any updates or confirmation. Coming towards the end of our tenancy we had two separate people contacting us (one of them Karen Buckley who I expected more from being high up in the company) for meter readings, keys handing in etc which again we already provided the first time, there is absolutely no communication between staff so be prepared to repeat yourself lots of times and get frustrated. The final straw was they actually sent the deposit back to the wrong account after we confirmed it with them twice?! Luckily it was still the account of someone who lived there but not the one we specified and had been checking all day for the money. Completely unprofessional, rude and slow at their jobs. It’s not worth the effort required for the high fees they charge for an awful service.

Henry Synge and his team in RBKC were a pleasure to deal with. They acted in a professional and polite manner and I had a realistic offer accepted after a few weeks of negotiations. The vendor was maladroit and unrefined; yet Henry still maintained excellent communications with the different parties involved and he managed to get the contracts done. Finally, as a foreign buyer, caveat emptor applies in RBKC. It's nowhere near as nice as LA- Beverly Hills or NY-Upper East Side (yet the prices in RBKC are higher per sq ft). It's a very complicated area and in my honest opinion, there are only a handful of garden squares or roads that are worth it.

TrustpilotDiscrimination of unmarried couples at Shepherd's Bush
Winkworth at Shepherd's Bush has denied us the ability to put an offer on a property because we are an unmarried couple, which, if that were the reason for the denial, is unlawful.Me and my partner wanted to apply for a property to live with my younger sister. We are one household, that is, a couple living together as married and a blood relative of one of the members of the couple. This definition can be found in the Housing Act 2004, section 258, currently active.Winkworth at Shepherd's Bush suggested that we are in fact two households because we are not married, and said we couldn't make an offer on the property because it doesn't have an HMO additional license required in that area for more than one household. They repeatedly asked whether we were married and we told them we are not, rather, we are an unmarried couple living together as if we were a married couple or civil partners, which is considered one household according to law. The addition of my sister would also not add a new household according to the same act above, section 258, 4b. Absolutely unbelievable that they would discriminate against unmarried couples if that is the case, which insistence on whether we are married in order to tell us whether we were a household, clearly suggested. For additional information, they also mentioned selective licensing in the area. However, the street we were looking in does not have selective licensing, and even if it did, this does not matter as according to law we are only one household.

Dear Valentina,I am sorry to hear about your experience at our Shepherd’s Bush office.I have investigated the matter and established there was a misunderstanding by a member of staff as to the interpretation of a single household, they checked the Hammersmith and Fulham web site, based on that information, believed the information they were giving you was correct. However, I confirm the you are in fact correct with your interpretation and I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. We have now addressed the matter with the member of staff and ensured that they are now fully trained on the subject.I did want to clarify that this was just a genuine misunderstanding and not discrimination, which is a pejorative a term and definitely not accurate in this instance. The issue of the definition of a household in the world of HMO’s has a rich history of misunderstandings and is not a simple issue. Furthermore, I wish you had reached out earlier so we could have resolved this for you with a better conclusion. Once again you have my apologies for the misunderstanding and if you contact us, we would like to offer you a gesture of goodwill by way of an apology. Please feel free to get in touch

Agreed purchase at a price we were really happy with but mortgage market going crazy caused us huge delays with our mortgage. I would not recommend this renting agency to anyone. My experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. They are charging outrageous amounts for rent, far more than the property is worth, and they have been completely unresponsive when I’ve tried to get clarity on why the costs are so high.On top of that, they’ve held my full deposit without any valid explanation and refused to communicate properly. Getting in touch with them is almost impossible, and they never arrange meetings with the landlord, even when it's necessary. Overall, this agency is unprofessional, overcharges, and lacks basic customer service. Avoid at all costs!

An agent named Beth at Winkworth was extremely rude to my partner and I about a possible viewing. We both work full-time and are unable to attend viewings during the day, and as my partner started to explain this to her - she said "okay, bye" and hung up. A separate agent at the Kensal & Queens Park office refused to answer my questions about prerequesites regarding our employment. It is confusing when most homes the agency offers requires a certain income but then refuses to deal with those who can't attend viewings during normal 9-5 working hours.

GoogleWinkworth Shepherd's Bush just sold my parents house even though Brexit was breathing down their necks. They were supportive throughout the whole experience and Mike Connaughton's negotiation skills also get a 5 star rating as he expertly managed to get an excellent sale price and my parents could not be happier. Previous to the sale they've been managing the rentals for over 15 years and we are also very grateful to Terence Thorogood and Cristina Peliza and the rest of the staff for always being extra helpful and attentive. Terence has had to deal with a lot of problems with some of our tenants and our own demands and he has always been patient and resourceful in getting the job done.
