Great customer service

My father in law contacted Covea's claims department, with a query on his Saga motor insurance. Not only did Maddie in the claims team deal with his query quickly and efficiently, she also went the extra mile to make him feel like a truly valued customer. We'd like to thank Maddie personally and hope Covea management will recognise her professionalism too.

We have dealt with many companies on…

We have dealt with many companies on behalf of our 85 year old father but covea take the award for being the most difficult to deal with to date. There is a hardcore group of petulant and immature women whose egos are off the scale and who are determined to be in complete control; even when they are clearly wrong. They incepted our claim and then unincepted the claim, without telling us. Someone resolved an issue and then it was unresolved by one of the ‘gang’ again without telling us etc etc They made it impossible for us to represent our father. So we gave up and had to leave a smashed up car hanging dangerously off the drive. It’s been ongoing since April. Deceitful and disingenuous... AVOID

There is a reason this company has 55% 1 star ratings. One of the worst companies in have dealt with in my life. They do not get back to you when they say they will, they lie and constantly try anything they can to avoid paying or pay the least amount possible and you can never get through to a manager. They are always "busy". I was ripped off by this company who refused to pay out my claim.

Useless when you have an accident.

Had my accident back last year in July 2017 last year......Still awaiting a verdict. The insurance company is only useful to say you have insurance because as soon as you have an accident they are useless! My claim is still ongoing and I frankly can't even be bothered to chase them anymore (its that bad) every time we phone them all they say is we are waiting to hear back from the 3rd party!? its been a year!! Claim wasn't even my fault had pictures to prove it however they bumped up my premium the next year to the exact cost of the payout and expected me to pay?! NO CHANCENEVER use this insurance company unless you want a useless insurer who can't even be bothered to chase a claim to fight your corner.... Claim was clearly not my fault but these lot can not be bothered to do anything about it... I'm absolutely gutted that this is still ongoing and most probably the only verdict I will get is that it will be on me considering how useless they are! lost all faith in this company and have always told people to stay well clear of them since! I've steered probably around 15 customers away from them since this and will keep doing the same when people ask me about them.

The worst insurance company I've ever…

The worst insurance company I've ever dealt withOn March 23, my husband had an accident so far I have not received compensation, First of all, I waited three months for the valuationSecondly, the mechanic who made the valuation made a mistake in the invoice, so Covea stopped pay compensation for 2 weeks because it was hard for them to call the mechanic and ask why the invoice is badly exposedOn Monday, 2.07, they ordered to send a V5 document and they claim they do not have it so far, I heard today that perhaps Covea already has it, but the damage department is not there yet. Cove is not in a hurry at all I have to cancel my holiday because I do not have a car, I have a problem with getting to work, I will never recommend this company to anyoneThey have customers for nothing, they are unreliable

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish, 6moths to sort out a claim for my car !! that was hit in a car park . Neglected to retrieve the cctv when they had all the information they needed confirming also from a police officer who radioed through that day that the accident was caught on cctv with the licence visible, the cctv was then over written and lost talk about carnt do their job . I then get told it's being written off that's fine finally getting somewhere . 4 days later I received a email asking me to take it to a garage of my choice to get a quote and they will give me a cash settlement for the repair, I've spoken with an insurance approved garage and they've said this isn't right way for them to do it. I've had nothing but stress/ anxiety though all this and now this .

Never again...wish I had read reviews before choosing them.

When I selected RAC as my insurance provider it was based on the fact that the price was competitive compared to other leading insurers and I was confident in the brand of the company having been a breakdown customer for over 12 years. However, having been involved in my very first car accident in 21 years of motoring, I am shocked at the total lack of customer care given by their underwriters (COVEA). Not once have I been contacted by them following the initiation of the claim and I have had to contact them constantly for updates. I was informed of their decision to write my car off through the repair company!! Surely they should have done this? Furthermore, when I contacted them to advise on this I was told that they would offer me £7400 for my car - when I informed them that that was not enough they came back with £8800? This still does not cover the value of the car but it surely should have been the first figure offered? This leads me to believe that they have already settled with the other drivers insurance and are trying to make money from me?? As this accident was totally the other drivers fault and was admitted as such at the scene in front of the attending police officer and independent eye witnesses, I do not feel like they are protecting my interests as the injured party. The details of the accident are clear cut, backed up by eyewitness’s and damage to their car through highly excessive speed in a 20mph area with photographic evidence. This case is still ongoing three weeks later and I do not hold out much hope of a resolution any time soon. I have tried to escalate this to highlight the very poor service received to no avail. I hope the right person reads this so it does not happen to other customers in the same situation. Overall I am extremely dissatisfied with the care provided thus far. UPDATE:Finally received a call from COVEA today! Yay. Not. Been informed that the car is now worth £9045. Final offer. Also that they have not recieved admission of liability from the third party insurers which could take up to 6 months!! In this time I will lose my 12 years no claims and my £375 excess until it is admitted. Plus, if I settle now for £9045, I will only have use of the hire car for another 7 days - as I work away from home this is insufficient time to allow for a replacement vehicle to be found. Have been told that I am getting a lot more than most of their customers - I feel sorry for the others if this is the case - maybe it’s because I’m complaining so much? I shouldn’t have to be working so hard for a claim that is not my fault. Poor is an understatement.2nd Update:Still no call backs, have had to chase myself again. Need to start charging them an hourly rate for the leg work I am putting in! Spoke to the third parties insurance company to be told that liability is in dispute! What a joke- contacted the police for their statement which includes the other driver admitting fault and him being cautioned for undue care and attention with excessive speed-they don’t have a leg to stand on - to be told by his insurer that they have no witness details or police report! I gave all of this information to COVEA the day after the incident but they have no record of it! One month in now, spoke to Covea this afternoon and have been told that they have contacted his insurers and that he hasn’t reported the accident! Told them this was strange as I’d spoken to them and he had reported it! Then they claimed he was with a different insurance company to the one he gave to me and the police??? Then they quoted the officers name and got it wildly wrong which leads me to believe they aren’t even looking at my case. So frustrated now it’s unreal.

We had our windows smashed

We had our windows smashed. Police were called. received log number, however it occurred on a later evening around 12:30am i believe. i did call there emergency number but it was out of hours and according to customer service we did not place that cover on. so i got some one else to come and board the windows. Time went by and then i receive an email from a Nadia Riaz. i then rang her and she was such a understanding person and apologized that they did not attend but it was our fault as we did not have that cover. cut a long story short, we used an independent person to board up the windows and then replace them. Nadia was very patient as getting the information did take time about a few months, but i will say that Nadia was sending emails and telephoning me to see if everything was okay. i managed to send the receipt but the builder did not want to give any contact details and that i thought that was it case close as they could not verify the costs. To my amazement Nadia then rang and said that they will be sending out a cheque to us for the costs. its amazing such a big company and they managed to resolve the issue without any headaches to me. i would say that you should report the issue and take pictures as i believe this did help us to show the damage. Again Nadia Riaz was brilliant, understanding and genuine wanted to help me with my matter and she did. Again thank you all and i will renew my insurance with you. some companies are fussy as they want to save the money by being awkward but this company was not. so well done guys.Thank you from N.Adalat

Avoid at all costs

Had an accident 7 weeks ago on a roundabout with an elderly lady who is insured by Covea. The cost of my excess outweighed the cost of repair, so I had to go it alone with my insurance company refusing to do anything.I filed a claim with Covea against their driver. After a week with no response I rang them up to find that the driver who hit me had logged a counter claim and as such my initial claim was null and void (nice of them to tell me.)I sent a full account of the incident with attached photos of the damage inflicted on my vehicle, the lane assignments of each lane and the routes both drivers intended to take.Initially their driver decided it was 100% my fault even after being informed by the police officer that attended that she was in the wrong. After 5 weeks of back and forth between myself and Covea insurance they informed me that the insured had changed stance to a 50/50 claim and they still refused to pay out. Finally after 7 weeks and lighting a fire under their backside yesterday it turns out that they have reviewed the file a total of 3 times but only ever looked at one of the 7 photos I sent them. They didn't look at the photo with the lane markings that showed that their driver was in the incorrect lane.Once I brought this to their attention they quickly changed stance and admitted complete liability. This could have all been resolved a lot quicker and saved me a lot of hassle and stress if they actually did their jobs correctly and review the file I sent them 6 weeks prior to the matter being resolved. If you are insured by this company I feel sorry for you and advise you quickly change as they seem very reluctant to actually do their jobs correctly.UPDATE:So I had a technician come around and review the damage to my car at 08:30 on Thursday 10th May got told it would be 24-48 hours to get the report through and processed. Yet here I am again 6 days after the visit from the technician. Rang Covea on Monday to see where the report was and got told off a guy called Tom that is was sent at around noon on Monday 14th.Today is Wednesday 16th I rang imcs this afternoon myself and just found out the report won't be sent off until later this afternoon.Long story short I'm getting sick to the back teeth of being told one thing and then a completely separate thing being the truth. This is by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with, not just insurance but worst company end of.If your car gets damaged by one of their policy holders then I hope you have a lot of time and patience as both are going to be needed to deal with this shambles.

mixed experience

After a stone chipped the panoramic roof of my 1 year old car causing a long crack along it's length, my garage advised that I would need a new roof. I opted to have the repair carried out by my main dealer garage rather that having to drive the 30 miles to Covea's chosen repairer. Dealing with Covea was a very mixed experience. Although very pleasant to speak to, I ( and my garage) became increasingly frustrated when promised phone calls and emails never materialised and assertions were made about the dates of emails from my garage that simply were not true. I had to continuously call them to find out what progress was being made. Fortunately I eventually was connected to one member of staff, Aroon, who could not have been more helpful. He went out of his way to sort things out, contacted me regularly and 'thought outside of the box' to find a solution to a problem with IT. Thanks to him my car is now booked in to be repaired next week. Thank you Aroon. If you have to deal with Covea- ask for him!!!

Do not EVER EVER EVER use this company for a motortrade policy. Been in the trade 30 year's and have never been come across a company this bad. You would this a non fault claim wouldn't be a problem when the 3rd party has admitted liability. Covea has nearly put me out of business with there constant delays in saying they haven't received various paperwork etc. Which was sent via recorded delivery. They don't chase up any claim, I had to contact the 3rd parties insurance company to get things resolved. This was one of the most stressful situations I have ever had to deal with. Then refused to renew my policy without any warning and wouldn't release any no claims bonus until the claim was settled making it impossible to get insurance cover anywhere. My partner and I have been with Covea…

My partner and I have been with Covea Home Insurance for 8 years and never claimed. The premiums have steadily crept up but we stuck with them through loyalty. Not mutually the case when it comes to a claim. Recently experienced some extremely high winds overnight which resulting in some 'storm damage' to two roof elevations. My partner rang Covea for a claims form, where upon the operator checking the local weather stated that the conditions and winds were not excessive on that day at out address. Where they get their so-called information from is beyond me. To us this is utter nonsense, as our home is exposed at the rear where the damage occurred in very wild weather with very high wind gusts, whilst the front can be a lot calmer. They point blank refused to entertain any claim on request, only to email us screen shot of the policy terms and conditions (storm damage wind speeds etc) They are now ignoring emails requesting 'final response letter' where we will refer this whole matter to 'The Insurance Ombudsman' Not under any circumstances would I recommend Covea as a provider for home insurance with customer services having an appalling attidude

They have at last found my August claim and paid it. Gave me £50 as compensation for confusion. Still tend not to acknowledge claims but they do eventually get paid. (Still don't understand why they won't pay vet prescription charge when it is so much cheaper to get prescription and buy drugs online at half the price the vets charge! ) Waiting with bated breath to see what my renewal price will be in 2025.

I’ve been with Covea(Peter Best) for a while, but my recent experience has been appalling. I had an accident over a month ago and still haven’t received any update on the status of my vehicle. To make things worse, I’ve been left without a courtesy car for the entire period, despite this being part of my cover. I’ve emailed and called several times, only to be passed around different departments with no real answers or accountability. It genuinely feels like they’re delaying the process to avoid providing a courtesy car. For an insurance company that claims to care about its customers, the lack of communication and urgency is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering Peter Best to think twice, when you actually need help, they’re nowhere to be found.

I thought I’d review this company on the speed of judgment so far, it’s been (at the point of review) 3 weeks since my roof blew off from storm damage, 2 roofers recommended the rest of the roof to be taken off to be able to repair the damages to the felt underneath and also ensure each tile is nails back on to ensure it’s back to full strength. I got 2 quotes as requested and the insurance said, basically is there a way it can be patched and to get 2 more quotes to have it patched. Bearing in mind I’ve got a hole in the roof and if we have a downpour the water goes right though from the 4th floor to the ground floor. I replied to the email explaining this in depth and I got another email back saying they aim to reply within 2 days.(automated reply) 5days on and still no reply. I’m questioning why we even have insurance at this point because it seems it’s just a con..

My Claim was rejected

I had this policy for 20+ years. A few years back I was going to cancel the policy as I had two jobs. I was breezily told that although I had two jobs my main in income (4 day week) would be covered if I were ever made redundant. Sadly, this happened in June. In July I made a claim. I provided proof of both my employment and redundancy etc but this was not good enough for Covea. They also wanted my bank statements. I refused as I thought this was demeaning. They already had all the evidence of my situation and I had met the other conditions that they specified. This on top of actually losing 80% of my income. Consequently, my claim was rejected.I’d have happily cancelled the policy years ago if I’d been aware of the difficulties I would face making a claim for mortgage protection by having two jobs.Lesson learned better to put your money away in a long term savings account if you don’t fit the “normal” working pattern. Had I done so, I would have saved nearly £600 a year and definitely got a better return. I now have a new job and I cancelled the policy. Still waiting to hear back on my complaint but I won’t hold my breath.
