Buying a house is so stressful. Clair gave me advice, listened to me moan (a lot) and was just wonderful. I bought my home with them but oh how much easier my life would have been if I'd sold my house with them too. They were great, cannot recommend them enough.

Avoid the bungalow,81 New Street…

We rented a bungalow,81 New Street Quarry Bank, property was riddled with damp, Then 1 of the locks broke and a locksmith was send round, he damaged the lock even more, then tried the back patio, he also broke this lock. We were left with 2 doors that we couldn't lock, they didn't offer any help land we had to stay in the property unsecured (apart from 2 screws on the outside ). This happened 18/12/24 we eventually moved out 28/0225. We paid to have the side door repaired ourselves but the rear door was still not fixed when we moved out.

Wanted to say a massive thank you to all at Hicks Hadley estate agents in Halesowen, from the first visit by Jon to the follow up visit from the manage Clair.. the whole process as been straight forward and stress free. Clair as always been at the end of the phone to Answer random question that have come up. The house sold within 3 months and was always informed of the viewers comments via telephone and followed up by email. Can’t recommend this team enough . Well done to them all and thank you 🙏

Very efficient & friendly service - Have dealt with Hicks Hadley for over 15 years whilst they managed our Buy to Let property and then acted as Estate Agents for the sale of the property . The staff at Hicks Hadley (Halesowen) are nothing short of brilliant. We were stuck in a chain for our recent house move for just over 14 months. (Through no fault of ours or Hicks Hadley) And the staff were so supportive the whole way through. Calling and emailing solicitors and other estate agents in the chain, daily to get updates and information to give us peace of mind. And giving others in the chain the push they needed to get things moving along. They even put up with us calling them almost everyday, stressed and worried and they always remained calm and helpful. Jon came to take photos and a walk through tour of our home when we listed it. And he was fantastic. Claire then really put in the work for us, chasing the rest of the chain, keeping Solicitors on their toes and helping us with keeping the faith when our buyer pulled out. Continuing to reassure us as we found a new buyer and keeping us informed all the way through. Truly can’t explain how grateful we are to each and every one of them. All our questions were answered, paperwork, communications etc were all done and dusted well within time limits and the overall support of the staff from day one was greatly appreciated. They are all absolute gems and I couldn’t recommend them enough. If you’re thinking of selling/renting or buying, 100% give Hicks Hadley a call.

Earlier in the year I went to view a property with a Hicks Hadley agent, the lady turned up to meet me and was unsure which flat we were viewing. We proceeded to walk around for 15 minutes to look for the correct flat, I found this weird but thought nothing of it and didn't end up purchasing the flat anyway. I had no intention of leaving a review because it was a bit unprofessional but also didn't really matter. However, 2 weeks ago I attempted to view a flat in Halesowen, the lady on the phone told me that there is a tenant living there so there would be an agent attending the viewing too. I turned up at 7:30pm, there was no agent so I attempted to ring the buzzer, there was no answer from the tenant. I appreciate that this is not the fault of the agent, however I had made a 45 minute drive to be there, and had no contact number or anything to follow up with. The real issue is how this was then dealt with. When I called the next day to explain, instead of an apology I was told 'an agent wouldn't be at the viewing if its out of hours' - this was repeated a few times. I had to then explain I am not arguing that this is procedure, I am just stating that this is what was said to me on the phone. Nobody answered and I was stuck outside. I asked if I could be the next person to view the property when it was rescheduled, due to never being let in, which I never found out the reason for. I spoke with a man and I was told I could have a slot to view the premises on a Wednesday evening, being the first available slot. I then get a phonecall the day before this saying the property was viewed before I had the chance to look and it has now been sold. It seems very unfair that after through no fault of my own I could not view and specifically asking to view next after not being given access - that I don't even get the opportunity to view and make an offer. This entire business seems to be built on a lack of communication. I am not going to name individual names etc, because its pointless when the issue is clearly wider than people and more to do with processes. However, the reluctance to see the mistakes made and acknowledge/apologise just left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I was very shocked to see how many 5 star reviews they have on Google, but after looking closer I see than the majority of these accounts have only reviewed Hicks Hadley, so the chances are there is a scheme that offers reward for a good review, or they are family and friends. Fingers crossed that when I do buy something, that it is not listed through Hicks Hadley, as I imagine the point of viewing would just be the beginning of the problems.NegativeQuality, Professionalism
