Not worth the higher fee

We recently sold our house with Foxtons. We were convinced to go with them despite the higher fee because they gave us the hard sell on foot traffic that they see and number of listings that they had at the time. We were selling shortly after buying for personal reasons and so knew we wouldn't recoup all of our money. Hussain Qazalbash had agreed to market it at a certain price (which we knew we wouldn't get). The very first day the house was listed he recommended dropping the asking price by £100K.This came as a great shock. It felt like he had agreed a price that he knew would get us to sign with Foxtons and from that point we were locked in for at least 14/16 weeks given the terms and conditions. Either the knowledge of the market was lacking (which given the Foxtons premium you would expect them to have) or they knew they would recommend such a drastic drop and just wanted us to be locked in so we had no realistic choice of going elsewhere.To their credit the number of vieweings was good and we did receive some offers. This is why they are getting 2 stars rather than none. However I found out that part of the house (attic) which was a big part of the potential of the house was not being shown to potential buyers. After the offer was accepted Hussain never really got in touch again and he was very difficult to get hold off. At one point I had to chase via email and phone messages for a week for an update.Foxtons is good for a quick sale but not if you need to be hand held through the process or want to feel like a valued customer. I do not think their higher fees are worth it and will not be using them again. I would urge others to avoid as well.

Inept, corrupt and deceitful

Inept, corrupt and deceitful - do NOT use this agency. We have truly had one of the worst experiences of our entire life with this agency, arranging a short term let with them. They charged us an (illegal) £500 administration fee, left us without electricity for 3 days without any alternate accommodation. Advertised our short term let as with all the amenities (water, electricity, internet) and towels, bedding etc - the flat had no internet, water pressure or electricity. They had one old towel and a fitted bed sheet. Its been absolutely so atrocious and unpleasant! They charged us a huge amount of money upfront, and then have not paid a dollar in compensation.

Never use their service

I rented my apartment via the agency that’s been acquired with time by Foxtons. At the end of my tenancy when deposit had to be released Foxtons made their own assumptions that never been discussed with landlord and hold my deposit for 20 days (10 of it unprotected). They’ve been using my money to gain profit when I was battling with them for my deposit to be returned in full. Very poor service. And unreliable company. Not recommend. Will complain.

Taylor Stevenson #1 estate agent!!!

We are so so so thankful for Taylor during a very stressful flat buying process. He gracefully mediated between an impatient and unreasonable seller and our solicitor who was basically just very bad at her job. He was always very responsive to emails and calls and was transparent about the situation which was sometimes confusing to us as first time buyers. The level of care made us feel like we were the only people he was dealing with although he must have had so much on, and without him the deal would have surely fallen through. I would 10000% recommend him and Foxtons anyone asking. Whatever this man is on, he needs a raise! Cheers Taylor :-)

Foxton's deceitful rent negotiator

Foxton's rent negotiator (Guilford Branch) informed our landlord that we had terminated our tenancy and began marketing the property. We had not passed any such communication to them in any manner and we have a full email trail as evidence of this fact. When we complained to our landlord, he assured us he was not informed of our communications with Foxton's and was sympathetic to our situation. Due to their harassment and disregard for our rights, I will never engage Foxton's services for any reason and may even consider reporting the issue to relevant authorities.

Do not Rent from them The property management team are negligent, they are liars, they do not care about the tenant. Property managers do not attend the property - Jan Taylor, no matter how many times you ask them. Amazing Annabelle

I just want to call out Annabelle Smith for being an absolute superstar. After 10 years in our rental property we have needed help with some pretty substantial maintenance issues, especially as our previous managing agents were totally disinterested and nothing ever got done, so stuff that needed repair was really piling up. Annabelle has taken on helping us sort several different issues, including some big projects, such as renovating our very dated and leaky bathrooms. Throughout our experience, she has been incredibly communicative, attentive, kind, caring and most importantly, super efficient! We are genuinely sad to hear she is leaving and any employer or customer she works with in future will be lucky! If everyone could 'be more Annabelle' the world would be a much better place :)

Very doggy Agency! If you are renting from Foxton, be careful!!!My experience renting from them is awful and will not work with them again.They are very unprofessional, be careful about the terms in the tenancy agreement. Check for early termination clause, and also they don't send a copy of signed contract, they keep it on their portal, and I have found out they have changed the terms during my tenancy. I'm going to peruse that with legal parties.

Finding the right property

We have recently had 2 appointments with Ben Hall in Twickenham to view properties. We are new to the area and Ben gave us lots of useful information about the houses we were visiting and the amenities in the surrounding areas. Horrific company

I find the whole company incompetent. I had a change of occupancy and moved into a new property and the whole experience was shocking. The property was unkept and infested with mice when we moved in, before we moved in we were ignored on receiving a furniture list. The property still needs a painting as walls are stained from previous tenants. Then when changing occupancy I was not sent documents I needed to sign whilst other tenants were waiting on me wondering why I hadn’t signed. I have just found the whole experience such a stress and felt unreasonable asking for the bare minimum of a clean flat to move into. We also had to sign the same tenancy agreement 3 times due to mistakes on the paperwork.

I wanted to derail how you will be fooled by this kind of company, first they will tell negatives of property saying that is why buyers are not there, it depends on how you receive their message, they are fully trained in fooling people later on they take your case to seller and they try to make sure seller is excited, then they will start process of stealing your money...be careful
