Foxtons’s account’s department have bad ethical practices.The charged me as a landlord 3 years commission & after six months again charged me 2 years commission for the same property.when I complained they credited part of the commission but after a week they recharged me some more commission.As the tenant rent is deposited directly into Foxtons’s account I cannot do much about it and am finally taking them to court for fraudulent activity.

I recently rented a property through Foxtons, and I have to say that my experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. From the very beginning, the communication was poor. My property manager was Courtney Allen and she's been the worst.For example, I received an automated email about my tenancy ending without any context or explanation. When I contacted the property manager, Courtney, she blamed it on a bug in the system and promised to call me back, but she never did. The property was getting sold hence I was asked to move out after only renting for 7 months.The process of moving out was equally chaotic. I was asked to agree on an early move out date with an over the phone promise that my rent would be refunded to me. I then followed up over email to get this in writing, but I was never given a clear timeline for when my deposit and overpaid rent would be refunded. I repeatedly followed up with Courtney, but she was unresponsive and evasive. It took weeks of chasing her to finally get some answers, after I have already moved out. I had to chase for both the deposit and the rent I overpaid. However, "the landlord took a 180 on the decision" and refused to pay me back the rent that I overpaid when moved out early by their asking.I was shortchanged by over £1000. I had to contact Foxtons again, make complaints, speak to different people - all pointless. Two years later I decided to make a court claim. Only that worked. I spent a month chasing Foxtons for the necessary info for the court claim and had to argue with them multiple times. I was treated with complete disregard until the claim was made. Only then they started listening and doing something. Even then... when I received the money, it was wrong :D "Accounts team made a mistake". I chased again and finally got the full amount settled. Soooo much effort and time wasted.Throughout this entire process, I felt like I was being treated with disrespect and disregard. The communication was terrible, the process was drawn out unnecessarily, and I was constantly being given the runaround. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RENTING THROUGH FOXTONS TO ANYONE. Avoid at all costs.

I had a wonderful experience with Foxtons, they helped me to take my first private rented apartment when I needed them the most. I was short on some requirements however they helped me to pass the checks and get the apartment I desired.

I went to visit ONE flat with them and the flat was described as newly refurbished to high standards. When i entered the flat i could smell mould straight away. Not a good start. The flat was in a quite deplorable state. I did not go any further and then i told the agent i would not keep looking with them. Then they kept calling me maybe 10 times and each time i told them i did not want them to call me anymore and every time they told me ok i will make a note and we wont call you anymore. And every time they keep calling and every time i tell them the same. Today i asked why after telling them not to contact me anymore they keep calling and the guy told me because i enquired in several branches which i never did… if they can not even handle a simple information i will certainly not trust them with looking for my home in the future…

As a person, he is friendly and has a good sense of humour. He gives us the confidence that buying and selling properties can be a simple and straightforward process. Highly recommend him!

Great during the renting process, TERRIBLE for maintenance - the renting agent was incredibly pro-active about finding us a location, but as soon as we started having issues we get brushed off, have the issues closed or get told "we're waiting for a response"As an example, less than 6 months after we moved in a pane of glass on the balcony shattered (in the cold) and it's still broken 3.5 years after reporting, broken plumbing fixtures repairs are constantly pushed back, they don't keep track of their own maintenance (during a leak into a flat below) expecting us to give them the details of who they sent and whenTo say their maintenance division is incometent is an insult to incompetence - they either ignore you or just send back "we're waiting for a response" emails - ABSOLUTELY USELESS!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible communication throughout the contract, but especially in the last few weeks. Foxtons have made several errors in the moving out process, and when we have emailed them (several times) they just ignore. Absolutely shambolic management of the property, and I already foresee having issues with getting our deposit back.

Foxtons has been one of the worst estate agents i have had to deal with. chase you when you're looking to rent a property with them but are absolutely rubbish when it comes their estate agents conducting viewings. we've had people turn up twice without us confirming, we have now had 4 agents in total now not showing up when they say they will and not even letting us know. when they want to do a showing they run you down constantly even though ive explained i work full time and have children - i try and book it around these times and they always confirm with client before asking us. I had one guy calling saying ive booked a viewing for today calling to confirm its going ahead i said no ones contacted no calls, texts or email. he said well can we still do it seeing as it was booked - i declined. Had another woman call asking to confirm a booking for today saying she claimed she spoke with someone from this property (only myself or my partner) to which she said apologises must have been another property can i do a viewing today. Honestly if i could get in touch with the landlord to let them know how poor they are i would.

Avoid Foxtons at all costs!My experience with Foxtons has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the start, they were pushy and unconcerned about my budget, constantly pressuring me to sign a longer-term lease than I was comfortable with, all while hounding me for a deposit. I began my unfortunate journey with them before moving to the UK, where I was shown outdated photos of the property. The bathroom in the photos was completely different from the reality I walked into! Worse, I was pressured into signing an agreement without ever seeing the place in person, something I deeply regret.Upon arrival, the property was in terrible condition. They lost the keys to the mailbox, the hot water barely worked, and the shower was completely non-functional, forcing me to find somewhere else to shower. When I reached out for help, did Foxtons make any effort to fix the situation? Absolutely not. They simply shrugged it off, blaming me for signing the agreement sight unseen. It’s been almost a month of fighting with them to dissolve the agreement because the place is uninhabitable, but they’ve been nothing but evasive and unapologetic.To make matters worse, every time I contact them, I have to re-explain the entire issue because they clearly don't communicate internally. They pass the blame from one person to the next, and no one takes responsibility.Foxtons is a ridiculous, unprofessional company, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

Extremely dishonest. We let a property with foxtons and the tenants literally destroyed the flat (burned the carpet in the living room, broke a window, just to give you an idea). With the tenants, we agreed the deduction of the deposit in full - even if the deposit was not enough to cover the damages hence we accepted to loose some money for the repairs.After 9 months, Foxtons has still not returned the deposit to me, leaving me with a flat that cannot be let to anybody else.The tenants accepted to pay the deposit for the repairs so Foxtons has no reason for keeping the deposit themselves. Stay away from them
