Strutt & Parker Lewes

Strutt & Parker Lewes are the reason estate agents get a poor name. They dragged us on for two weeks, avoiding talking on the phone, not giving any indication of when they would contact us and becoming short & rude when called on their day off, which had the agent (James) informed us of his working times, would not have happened. Being rude for his mistake was not appreciated. They even had the audacity to update pictures of the property we had applied for on Rightmove before informing us that we were unsuccessful (for no reason other than our pets which they assured us would be no problem when viewing.)Avoid this estate agent if you want to get an honest and timely service !

Strutt & Parker in Ipswich and Norwich

Strutt & Parker used to be professional and well regarded estate agents. Their business was sustained by building long term relationships. This has now changed to a transactional approach. Their people seem to be entirely focussed on their own personal commission.They show little understanding of the housing stock or property market. They care not a jot for the vendor. Their telephone manner is ill-mannered to the point of being aggressive. They pay little attention to detail and are markedly lacking in principles.

Corruption

Further to my below comments, I would like to bring to the publics attention 17 Hollow Street, Chislet, CT34DS is still occupied with eight people contrary to enforcement orders numbering 12 over the past 29 years, three high court orders from a circuit judge ordering the site to be cleared, the most recent being a high court judge in 2018. CCC planning enforcement request these orders to clear the site, demolition of dangerous structures and remove several hundred tonnes of rubbish. The above is still in situ with it being run as a boarding house. It has been used as a drug factory, stealing and selling car parts on the internet along with dispersing small quantities of drugs within the community all with the blessing of CCC and the grace of Archbishop of Canterbury. It was brought to his attention and he didn't have the courtesy to reply. Finns and co of wingham high street have since been instructed to carry out site measurement, both plots of land were sold by measurements by the city council and Church of England, they have the deeds so they have the measurements but they still carry on condoning criminality on the site and failed to follow the orders of the Secretary of State and planning inspector to clear the site. These enforcements span since 2004. A six bedroomed house was build on the site, enforcement was brought against Paul McCleave, it was demolished in 2016 yet they left the rest standing. Finns are preparing a new report which has already been commissioned by Strutt and parker, at Margaret's street Canterbury, I find it difficult to understand why the Church of England have taken no action and pulled down the strictures that are on their land. All above parties have been supplied with copies of the deeds and contract with the sizes on them.

Not responding since we left the flat. Not returning the deposit

After having lived in one of the flats they manage during one year, and after all the issues we have faced (moisture, leaking pipes, disgusting stuffs coming out of the pipes in the bathtub, etc) we have now left the flat. Unfortunately, they do not respond to our emails anymore and complete radio silence in regards to our deposit, although the contract mentioned that it should have been returned at the latest a few months ago. If issue not resolved, legal action will be taken against the company.

Fantastic service, highly recommended

We instructed Sarah Cull from the Salisbury office of S&P to assist with the sale of a property owned by a company in administration (in respect of which we were the administrators. Sarah, Fiona and the rest of the team went over and above to achieve a sale at list price despite a number of hurdles that arose along the way including the original purchaser dropping out. I recently had to decide which estate agent we would use to sell our 20 acre Farm in Ewhurst.I had lived on the farm for over 15 years, and had converted the farm outbuildings into affordable units for letting.We eventually chose Strutt and Parker, and right from the word go, Ken Roberts advised us to split the farm into four separate units, so that prospective buyers could either buy the whole farm or the separate units.Splitting one title into four separate titles is a lot of work. We made good use of Strutt and Parker's mapping team who are land registry approved.This made getting drawings a simple task.We also used the amazing team at Strutt and Parker to produce a brochure showing the four separate units, which once published on the web sites caused a massive response, such that we were getting in excess of twelve viewings per day.We were looked after by an experience team of property sales negotiators who handled all the viewings and dealt with the prospective purchasers.Thanks go to Nadia, Pippa, Holly, Sarah-Jane, Debra,Stephanie and in particular to Jackie who has a special relationship with the solicitors acting for both the seller and the purchaser.Working together the team at Strutt and Parker, sold all four lots and dealt with lots of tricky questions to achieve total farm sold for the price they thought they could achieve from the outset. Superb service

Towards the end of last year I viewed and ultimately went on to buy a house in Hastings which was being marketed by Strutt Parker in (unusually) Canterbury. The sale/purchase was handled by Simon Backhouse at that office, who was superb, understood my specific issues and requirements and managed the difficulties of a somewhat long distance transaction so that I never felt anything was too much trouble for him. He understood everything, and gave me good solid advice. I felt myself to be very much in expert hands. (Caroline, who did much of the commuting to and from the viewings, was also a cut above). I would happily recommend this agency, and Simon in particular, to anyone selling or indeed buying a property. Good old fashioned, high quality service, albeit speeded up for the twenty first century.
