Thanks to Oliver Truelove and the team at Strutt and Parker my sister and I have had a very positive and straightforward experience selling our Mum's property on her behalf. Whilst the initial financial checks took longer than we'd perhaps anticipated, Olly (as our main S+P contact) was an excellent, prompt communicator throughout the process, found us fantastic buyers and the whole process from live marketing of the property to exchange/completion took just over two months! Whilst there was no onward chain this is still remarkable, given this was actually the second attempt to sell the house this year. The first attempt, with a different estate agent was an entirely different experience. Whilst similarly we had had a no chain situation, the initial process dragged on for months and ended up with us having to walk away with the initial buyer trying to 'gazunder' us just days from exchange. We felt that the initial estate agent had allowed this situation to unfold by not being on top of proceedings and through poor management of the process on their part. We had initially chosen them over Strutt and Parker as they were more local to the property (given we were selling on behalf of Mum and not local ourselves), so we thought that gave them the upper hand. Nevertheless, we had kept in touch with Olly and he had even given us advice on the sale which was invaluable and above and beyond! So we already felt that moving to Strutt and Parker for a second sale attempt of the property, was a sound decision. It ultimately made no difference that the property was in Brookwood but our Strutt and Parker office was Guildford. Olly managed the whole process with aplomb, guiding us where necessary and keeping all parties up-to-date. Our exchanges were always enjoyable and personable; whilst he kept us all on track we never felt pressured and we trusted him implicitly throughout. Olly and the wider team at Strutt and Parker were a significant factor in the smooth and stress-free nature of the sale, and we are incredibly grateful to Olly for his support, good humour and guidance throughout the process. What a Rolls Royce of an estate agency!

From the very first day I met Ashley Harwood from the Cirencester branch of Stutt & Parker I found that I could communicate with him, which in today’s world is not something to take for granted, he was the agent that was the closest in valuation to what the cottage archived, the price was not inflated, just realistic. I had a very disappointing experience with Strutt & Parker when inquiring about a rental property. I expressed my interest in the property immediately and was told by Poppy that she would send me the application form and explain the next steps. Unfortunately, I never received anything. I followed up by email to check whether she had received my message and asked if there were any updates. She replied saying she would get back to me, but I never heard anything further. I then tried calling the office multiple times over the following weeks. Each time I was told that Poppy was unavailable, and despite leaving messages, I never received a call back. After repeatedly chasing the matter, I eventually received an email saying they would update me by the following Friday. Once again, no one got back to me. I was never informed whether I had been unsuccessful, nor was I given any update or next steps. The lack of communication throughout the entire process was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Being left waiting for weeks with no clear response was very upsetting and made what should have been a straightforward rental inquiry a very negative experience.

I do not think that selling your home can ever be described as a pleasant experience, however Strutt and Parker at Guildford made it through excellent customer service more bearable. I felt from the initial contact and instruction, to the valuation which was spot on, right up to exchange of contracts and beyond, S & P have shown complete professionalism and real care for their clients. Ken Roberts I found to be refreshingly knowledgeable and honest in his market views, I would also like to thank Jackie Knights who managed our sale for us, for all of her persistence and hard work, credit where credit due, she has done S & P proud.
