She was beyond helpful and friendly with every interaction, found us numerous houses and was always available to contact for help. I strongly recommend Townends for anyone looking for to rent a property in Guildford. I was looking for a property in Guildford as part of my relocation to the UK from Oman. I was dealing with the agent Ellie from Townends from the beginning of my search. 0 stars. Absolutely awful. Richard Bicknell is managing my flat in guildford and I am having a horrible experience. My emails are routinely ignored, my calls are never returned, and all agreed deadlines for actions are always missed. I honestly don’t know what I am paying them for and as soon as I can, I will be leaving them and never looking back. Do yourself a favour, and find any other estate agent.

GUILDFORD BRANCH terrible!!! If you're a student prepared to be totally scammed by them and the scamming landlords they like to work with. staff would rather sit and have a gossip than serve you. the house wasn't even cleaned and plugs were clogged with hair, then tried to charge us upon check out for cleaning when we left the house immaculate! absolute joke. didn't get the money. knocked off about £1500 they were trying to scam out of our deposit money with the landlord. But even the amount we did pay was a stretch, just fed up with them all by this point. Also told we had access to the garage and then we wasn't, yet we were still paying full ripoff price of £2500 for an unclean, damp, sticky carpeted, house. And yes, I have pictures of everything! Upon checkout a housemate tried to call them to arrange key drop off and they blocked his number? Immediately called off my phone and they picked up. Very professional. Never again. I will always take the opportunity to share our experience and spread the word of how awful this place is to work with to help save another student going through the hell we had to deal with. we had to involve solicitors - but a luxury a lot of students cant afford - to fight for our money back. * In response - And yes they did manage the property. Why would they have their own advisor to help the landlord make the ridiculous deposit reductions. Also, Zoopla says otherwise so denying your affiliation with the house is ridiculous. It's just disgusting the lengths they will go and how far the landlords they work with will take advantage. WE ARE STUDENTS, NOT A CASH COW. A faultless experience. The only agent to offer me a tea when I went in. Always cheerful and polite. Valuation was spot on and set as a percentage of the asking price so I could budget for it. Exceptionally on the ball when following things up. I got weekly phone calls filling me in on what was happening and I didn't have to ask them to do things, they just did them. My solicitor who also happens to be a very good friend said they were proactive and knew what they were talking about. Viewing were checked in advance via a phone call and reminders sent out by text and email. They made the whole experience as stress free as these things can be and I cannot recomend them enough.
