Our experience with Gascoigne Pees has been fantastic. The process has been quick and easy, and right from the get go was a step above other agencies as they have provided us with far more information than others. Chloe is our letting negotiator and her service has been absolutely fantastic. She is very easy to get hold of, she usually replies to emails within a few minutes, at the most a couple of hours. She’s friendly, and happy, and is willing to go out of her way for us. We have also been dealing with Ariadna for our Tenancy Agreement, who has again been brilliant. She is also hot on her email replies, friendly and professional. We hadn’t rented through an agency in quite some time so were a little worried due to bad experiences in the past with other agencies, but Gascoigne Pees have reaffirmed that we made the right decision. I find it almost laughable how this…

I find it almost laughable how this letting agency behaves. When you’re signing a contract, they bend over backwards to act friendly and helpful, but the second you’re moving out, the entire façade collapses. Their true colors show, and suddenly you’re dealing with rudeness, attitude, and a complete lack of basic professionalism. My experience with this agency at the end of my tenancy was extremely negative, and one staff member in particular, Freya, made the situation even worse. In my opinion, she spoke to me with absolutely no respect and seemed to think that talking to tenants in a dismissive, condescending manner was acceptable. From my interaction with her, it’s clear she has a lot to learn about how to communicate professionally. Some of the comments she made were completely unnecessary, and honestly, she would benefit from learning when it’s better to keep certain remarks to herself rather than speaking to people the way she did. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in any customer-facing role, and I strongly believe she needs proper customer service training. My overall impression is that she is not equipped to speak with tenants in a respectful or professional way, and that absolutely needs to be addressed. No member of staff has the right to speak to me the way she did. Because of this, I will be taking this complaint further through the appropriate channels, and I will be sharing my experience publicly so other tenants are aware of how they may be treated. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, and I refuse to let it go unaddressed.

I would like to thank Gascoigne-Pees Kingston for their help in seeing this complicated sale through to a successful completion. With four trustees owning the property, we contacted G-P some three years ago to say that a sale might be on the cards. Matthew kept contact in a friendly way until the main owner and occupant was ready to sell and gave a fair market appraisal. Together with Michael, they efficiently and patiently showed many buyers the property and, as we were selling remotely and the house was empty, they kept us well informed. Eventually really solid buyers were found and a good price agreed. The sale went through relatively easily with the help of G-P all along the way. We do not think that we could have done this without their help. We would recommend G-P to you if you are thinking of selling in the K-O-T area.

We turned to this agency through a personal contact as we were experiencing troubles with our tenants and our own managing agents were not as supportive as we had anticipated. As first time landlords renting our house to finance a family move abroad, we were totally unprepared for the actions our tenants took once we issued notice after two years I.e. refusal to pay rent for 6 weeks. Chloe, Daisy and Rachel were genuinely helpful, were empathetic and offered whatever advice they could in manoeuvring and navigating the unknown and unchartered territory of difficult/belligerent tenants - help which was sadly lacking from our own agents. Whilst the issue is still on going, I have felt nothing but supported and understood by these three girls and I could not, based on this experience, rate them highly enough. Moreover, this was a genuine plea for help which they answered willingly, professionally and without personal gain. This is what I would call integrity; the genuine offer of help in difficult circumstances. If only we had instructed them in the first place! Thank you all.

I recently contacted Graham Jennings, Executive Branch Manager at Gascoigne Pees in Guildford to market a one bedroom flat I have in Guildford. The reason that I contacted this particular estate agency and Graham is that I like proactivity and Graham had contacted me after he saw that I had posted an ad on another website marketing the flat. I found Graham to be extremely responsive and a good communicator. He didn’t pressure me to make a decision on whether I should market my flat via them but gave me time to think about it and discuss the fee. I did manage to find a tenant via an alternative route in the end but should you be looking to market your flat I would recommend using Graham Jennings and his team.

Scammed by branch in Basingstoke, avoid them

These agents in Basingstoke pressured me into making a holding deposit after seeing a property that I was interested in. I provided all the details for reference checks. They later came back telling me that my employers declined giving a reference until my probation is ended which is no fault of mine. I have contacted my employers personally on more than one occasion to get this sorted out, but was not successful. This agency contacted me requesting for a guarantor and as a foreigner, I could not provide the needed guarantor (UK home owner with £44k annual salary). The next few hours, the property was back on the market without saying anything to me about my holding deposit. When I contacted them, they told me I have provided false and misleading information (failed reference checks) which was very shocking to me. Avoid them at all cost.
