I have used Owen Lyons in the past for both sales and purchases so they were my first choice again this time round. The level that these guys operate at is unseen elsewhere in the area. The whole process was orchestrated superbly from start to finish, every call and message responded to immediately, we had an SMS group so they could share information in real time, they managed the chain upwards and downwards and I honestly think that had Owen Lyons not been involved, the sale would have fallen through. A special shout out to Harry who was simply outstanding and drove the whole thing. Thank you very much to the whole team at Owen Lyons, by far the best estate agency in Thurrock.

This agent asks for photo ID, wage slips and a utility bill before even taking you to view a rental property. That's a big intrusion on privacy considering this is before one can even be certain that the property is of interest. In addition, the attitude in phone interactions is almost as if the agent sees it as a favour to even allow people to view the properties on their books. Update: Soon after I posted this review, the agent cancelled my 'application' to view the property in retaliation. Update 2: Also, after updating this review, I noticed that the Owen Lyons google page has been flooded with positive reviews since I posted this, mostly by people with 1-2 total reviews. Very suspicious when a small estate agent in Grays has far more reviews than many large establishments. Reeks of dodgy marketing.

I would recommend Owen Lyons time and again to anyone. Matt was a joy to work with in letting our house; he is the consummate professional and has to be some of the best in this business. Matt and his team followed up at intervals when the let had to be put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances and when we were in a position to proceed, Matt can and took updated photos and found a great tenant for our prop - all within a reasonable time frame. Matt has the interests of all parties - not just landlord but tenants also - at heart in the way. He ensured that tenants are just as happy. Thank you Matt and team, really appreciate your impeccable service :)

Stole more than half my deposit after I paid for a professional cleaner who left the property spic and span. The property looked better at the end of my tenancy than it did at the beginning. Spent 1 year at the property and had to leave as they refused to fix a leak. The agency particularly a man which I wont name was very rude and dismissive. I have dealt with this company before but it seems like they have gone downhill.

Our experience with this company has been deeply frustrating, not necessarily due to the staff, but because of the unreasonable procedures imposed by management. Many of the properties listed on their website are no longer available, and those that are require applicants to fill out lengthy, intrusive forms before even being considered for a viewing. After submitting personal and financial details, we were told that no viewing slots were available. However, this came only after they asked further probing questions, suggesting that decisions are being made based on factors like family status or income, despite their claims to the contrary. When we asked for feedback to understand why we weren’t offered a viewing, the only response was “not enough viewing slots.” This lack of transparency feels disingenuous and suggests a filtering process they are unwilling to acknowledge. As a young family with strong employment, excellent credit, solid landlord references, and affordability well above the requirements, it’s disappointing not to even be granted a viewing. The entire process felt discriminatory and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this company to others, it’s been a frustrating waste of time and energy.

The service provided by this company is highly disappointing. The properties listed on their website are often already taken, and for those that are available, they require prospective tenants to complete lengthy and intrusive forms. After collecting personal details, they then inform applicants that a viewing cannot be arranged, seemingly making decisions based on factors such as family status, income, and other criteria. This experience feels discriminatory and unprofessional. I would not recommend their services, as it is a waste of time and effort.

From start to finish Matthew and Bradley were fantastic. We had the added stress of exchanging before the original lockdown and not knowing if we were still able to move on the set completion date as it was after the lockdown was implemented. They gave guidance and once we knew it could still go ahead, Matthew arranged for us to collect the keys even with the office closed. As an estate agent myself and after having very different experiences with some of their competitors I honestly cannot recommend these guys enough.

I can't understand and I don't even know if it's legal in the first place to ask for ID , proof of residency, wage payslip and a lot of paperwork that have lots of very personal information , like insurance number and etc Without signing no GDPR contract between myself and this agency without seeing the property in the first place ,how can I trust that all my sensitive information aren't use in fraudulent purposes . This sound like a very big scam . Be very careful in this days anyone can mess with your personal information and can very bad affect your credit score . Who know what they can do with all this information that they are asking?

Absolutely the best Estate Agents I've dealt with in a long time! Cannot recommend Matthew (& Alex) enough. Matthew is genuinely the best communicator and I know for a fact due to the timing of calls, that the team work long hours to ensure they keep in contact with all the customers, buyers or sellers. If Matthew said he'd ring/call back/let us know anything by any point, he always did, even if it was just to tell us there was actually no news as yet but he'd promised he'd call so he was calling. And this wasn't an easy or a massively lucrative sale, it was complicated by freeholders, leaseholders, and 2 managing companies, but the service made us feel as if we were top priority, even though we were well aware that the Agency was massively busy - not surprising given the service, since I imagine they're very popular in the area. Anyway, if you're reading this thinking, should I market my property with Owen Lyons, then yes, in my humble opinion, you can't go wrong with this Estate Agency.
