I tried to contact Slater Hogg & Howison Greenock branch regarding raw sewage coming from their property in Dalry,Ayrshire.At first I was told they would get their so called maintenance team out but nobody appeared.After a week I emailed them and just got ignored.The agents name was Niall Mckenzie.I waited another couple of days for a response but nothing.Now Environmental Health have been contacted and have been to the address so let's see slater hogg Greenock ignore them.Very unprofessional and ignorant.

One of the worst letting agents

One of the worst letting agents I’ve ever dealt with. We had a really awful experience trying to get our deposit back and were charged additional late fees that were never properly communicated to us. The whole process has been stressful and poorly handled from start to finish. We are now seeking representation to challenge the charges and recover our deposit. I would strongly advise others to avoid renting through this firm.

We have rented a few Flats previously in and around Glasgow City Centre managed by Zone Group and Macleod Lettings. The service we both have personally received from these companies has been terrible and personally ask people looking to rent to look elsewhere. But now being a Tenant of a property managed by Slater Hogg & Howison I cannot recommend them enough. We have had zero issues with our Home, Application or Move In and trust that if there was that Slater Hogg & Howison would have any issues sorted immediately. With a detailed inventory list taking all aspects and details into consideration, the care of Tenants and Landlords is truly paramount, and I would like to say Thank You. Poor communication with viewing arranged. When attended the viewing, they said because it was not confirmed by email (which was not mentioned in the email nor was required on last viewing), therefore, even though the office is right next to the building, they will not do the viewing until the following week. The attitude of one the staff in the office was hostile and unpleasant. Half an hour prior to the viewing on the second week, they said property was sold even after we have expressed our interest. There is no closing date. I do not think they have tried their best to get the best deal for seller by having sincere buyer to view property sooner or even mention we are interesting to the seller to let the seller decide. It puts me off to use their service to sell in the future considering that will be the service that I will be getting. The way they handle the viewing make viewer feels the staff get more say about who will get to buy more than having a fair transaction and best deal for the seller. Slater Hogg sold my property last month & couldnt be happier with the service. Fergus's valuation of the property prior to it going on the market proved to be extremely prescient, as was his breadth of knowledge of the Merchant CIty market: i dont think any other estate agent has a valuer with his openness and equanimity. In the office, Elaine & Hannah were first class communicators of all issues leading up to the sale: co-ordination of viewers slots & the collation of viewer feedback was extremely reassuring. There's a lot of Estate Agents vying for your business, but many wont deliver: i'd strongly advise you not to go anywhere else.
