Listed a families home with JF, forced us to take off the market after we accepted an offer based on their assurance they had been vetted, months went by and buyers finally got refused an mortgage, didn't even have a credit score, by which point the market had tanked, then we had to buy ourselves out the contract. Plus charged us for a walk through video that was supposably sent out to clients, when I asked to see it they couldn't produce it and gave a half arsed reason why it didn't exist.

GoogleNever deal with them, useless. Can hardly get a respond. always rush off the phone before we even finish talking. If you cannot even be bothered of listening, how do you do the work ? Awful experience was looking to buy from them. Ended up sending all my personal details about the transaction to my ex then didn’t bother to tell me that the seller had put the property back on the market after my buyer pulled out even after saying they would potentially wait for me to find another buyer. Wouldn’t buy or sell from them.

I contacted Jan Forster Estates early in 2022 to obtain a quote to sell my home. They promptly sent out a representative to explain the process to me. He looked around my home and then offered me his opinion on value, which I initially accepted, but then increased, after researching other properties of the same style which had sold at a higher price in less attractive positions. JFE did not question the increased price!My opinion of JFE is not related to their sale of my home, as they marketed the property quickly and secured a buyer at my requested price. However, they did not research any comparable properties which had recently sold which was why my home was under-valued. In addition, the manner in which they convince clients to sign contract documents is not only unprofessional but, as the Property Ombudsman pointed out to me, is a legal issue and I was requested to refer to my solicitor, as the complaint did not come under their remit.I was shown a contract on an ipad which I couldn't clearly read, which was not explained to me nor was I advised how many pages the contract contained. I was asked to sign in a white box on the ipad, but could not see the section to which it related. My signature was then, unbeknownst to me, inserted into all of the sections of the contract.Only when I decided not to move and withdrew my property from the market, did I understand the implications of signing on an ipad. My signature was used to agree to conditions of which I had no knowledge and which have implications for me if I wish to resell my home in the next two years.All I can say, in summary, is: seller beware! Ask for a hard copy before you sign anything and undertake your own research on property values before you meet anyone from JFE.

GoogleJan Forster have helped us with a property we have just purchased in the Low Fell area. Their service was outstanding and in particular, Karen (branch manager) was beyond helpful. She was always at the other end of an email and replied swiftly. I asked a few times to view the property once our offer had been accepted and she happily let me gain access to the property. I’d definitely recommend Jan Forsters.

SO DISHONEST !!!, Totally dishonest company, They have cheated me over the last couple of years. They don't honour the contract that they have with you. They have not done so much since being with them. It would take me a hour to write this review. For example: They let my tenancy go a week in the middle of the coldest time of the year without hot water or heat before they called me, then i had to sort it all out even though that is what i pay them for. I have asked to speak with the managing director half a dozen times without them getting back to me to discuses the issues at hand. During the first lock down, they were showing homes to people to rent, however they didn't go out to inspect the properties for landlords. They did still charge landlords full money for the service. The manager is unwilling to help solve any issues you have with the company. He tries to make out that you are the issue and not them. Advice to other landlords: If you want to have happy tenants, avoid this company.They are the worst !!

Bought a house from Jan Forster all good, or I thought...The house next door was then let by Jan Forster a few months after completing my purchase to the neighbors from hell!Spoken and emailed Jan Forster numerous times and they have not shown one bit of interest into solving the issue. Basically we put them in, you get them out!I've been told to contact the police or the council if there anti social behaviour continues.If I could give no stars I would. I don't recommend Jan Forster and would never use them again.

Dishonest. I had a chain break so ended up not advertising with them anymore. They weren't even the Estate agents that found my buyer as they were simply too slow. Contacted a cash buyer company to save the chain. They needed a valuation and Jan Forster provided one.... When compared to another estate agent was 30k below and was also 15k below what they were going to advertise the property for. They did this out of spite. I found out it was them as the company provided me their valuation report. Also they came over and put a sign up again without my knowledge and damaged my property in the process... Avoid like the plague

Stay away from this company , these agency is clearly money collectors and they are happy to do everything to take money from you, they will lie , fake the facts and do anything where they know the law and they know how to sneak through it and just waste your time .

GoogleI would unreservedly recommend this business to anyone looking for a lettings company that will genuinely try to help you find a property in what can be a very stressful and trying experience. They gave excellent advice regarding good locations and spent a lot of time and effort listening to our requirements. They found us a perfect property match. When we are looking to buy in the area we will use them again. Three cheers for `Bella` and the Queen of Lettings !!!!

GoogleBuying and selling a house is so stressful but From start to finish this wonderful professional team have been so helpful and understanding . Isabella always polite when I rang to speak to one of the team and nothing was to much trouble .I was so lucky to start the journey of buying a new house, to be shown around my potential new home by Karen , from that moment this understanding lady helped me get through what is a very stressful time , I carnt thank her enough. If I was asked to mark this low fell team out of ten then ten plus it is . Thank you so much 🏡

This firm is utterly appalling, avoid them like the plague! I rented my property through them, I did not get the service I paid for in the terms & conditions of the contact. They made numerous administrative errors, that came at any addition cost to me through their negligence. They cannot be trusted, they are lazy, unprofessional & incompetent.

Would give 0 stars if I could.The company couldn’t provide us with a working toilet throughout our tenancy. Pinned the blame on us even though the plumber told us it was the unit. Jan forster then wanted us to pay rent even tho we were living in a property with no toilet ! Having to work from home during covid times and use the toilets of local supermarkets! Zero response from the company zero resolution and they still have our deposit 1 month on from leaving with no one being in touch.This company is the most incompetent, unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. We will be taking this further. If you want to have a hassle free tenancy use someone else.

GoogleWould not use jan Forster services again, used it to rent accommodation and was a nightmare trying to get any information out of them. Had to ring them weekly over a month to get a move in date and kept being told we don't know anything. Ended with no where to live for over a week during cover-19 because the lack of communication between jan Forster and the landlord. Told them we needed to be in by a certain date and they knew this from the start and useless staff did not care at all that I was left with no one to live! Only member of staff that helped at all was the manager David, the rest barely replied to emails or called back.NegativeResponsiveness

GoogleI don't know where to begin. I cannot fault the staff at Jan Forster, from the first moment I stepped through their door they were absolutely amazing. The agents helped me with arranging the viewings when I went in on new years day for when they were properly open again, another agent doing my viewings, not once but twice so I could make sure I was making the right choice and didn't bat an eyelid. To another agent helping when my first agent was off work to the accounts department getting paperwork done in record time. From the moment I said yes they answered every email, phone call, and went above and beyond to get me into the flat within two weeks so my partner could move cross country and start his new job in time, with one day to spare!! Due to their being a major time limit on this move I was on at them everyday sometimes multiple times in a day and not once did they falter with a smile on their faces always. Professional, helpful, friendly, going the extra mile and just absolutely amazing. I will definitely use Jan Forster again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a home. Totally dishonest company who does not implement their published policy. As a potential renter, this company got me to jump through all of the hoops, providing all personal data in advance, agreeing the tenancy detail etc....but still would not allow the paying of a holding deposit. The aim: to keep all prospective tenants dangling by a hook for days on end without them having to make any commitments.At the end, they told me i had not got the property because other applicants could move in earlier: completely wrong.Advice to landlords: If you want to have happy prospective tenants, with a letting agent who is fair and honest, avoid this company.
