I have completed exchange of contracts on a property in Swindon which I found through Richard James Estate Agents. My experience with Richard James Estate Agents right from the first call I made to setup a viewing to the last day when the exchange of contracts took place (total of 5 months) has been brilliant. They are a thoroughly professional business unit where each employee seems to take pride in what they do, it reflects in how they deal with you through the process of buying a home. The Sales rep who helped me with the viewing and offer process was Iain Davidge. Iain was quick and responsive when it came to getting the offer process completed and moving me on to his Sales Progression team where my purchase was first handled by Sharon Clark who was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Property I had made the offer on had a chain on it, so Sharon had to keep me posted throughout the process where sadly the first chain had broken down. She always ensured I got the updates on a timely basis and whenever I called she was prompt in giving me relevant information on the progress. Post Sharon left Richard James my purchase was dealt with by Hayley Walden and she was equally excellent. I would highly recommend using Richard James if you are looking to buy properties in Swindon and surrounding areas. A thoroughly professional unit and one of the very few estate agents that I found to be giving you a copy of the brochure for each property with their contact card - a very nice touch in this day and age!

We have been very impressed with the quality and speed of Richard James East Swindon office throughout the sale of our house. From the valuation at the start, Alanah has been very professional and kind, and we are well-informed. She works really hard, even outside office hours to answer our questions. Anthony is very helpful and lovely to speak to, which kept the sale process going smoothly. For viewings, Whitney was also very welcoming for the viewings that took place. Extremely poor experience with Richard James (North Swindon). As a landlord, I experienced repeated mismanagement, lack of communication, unauthorised decisions, and unresolved maintenance issues that caused both financial loss and significant stress. I went thought the official (in house complaint process) and now have an open case with the Property Ombudsman. I would strongly caution others to avoid entrusting their property to this branch.

In the process of selling our home through Richard James. So far our experience has been great, everyone has been really responsive and kept us completely informed throughout. They set up a really helpful WhatsApp group to arrange viewings, and provide updates. We have had contact from Emily Reardon to provide timely updates at hours I’m sure are outside or what she was due to be working which has made us feel she and her team are going above and beyond. We cannot recommend Richard James enough! We used multiple agents for around 18 months. Within that time we had constant viewing cancellations and people viewing knowing that the house wasn't suitable for their needs. So much time and effort lost. We should have gone with Richard James first. They sold the house off market! Then after problems with our solicitors they made it their mission to sort it out and they did! After 2 failed buyers we finally have a completion date on the third attempt. Very polite and courteous and easy to get a hold of which are positives when trying to sell a house and I did feel that towards the end Sharon was trying really hard to get it over the line. The only room for improvement I felt would be when showing the house, be just a little bit more pushy or knowledge-full and sell the specific features that other houses might not have rather than just letting the viewers wander around themselves.

Hugh and Harry at the branch were excellent from start to finish. Always responded to calls and email the same day, were always professional and honest and most importantly seem to appreciate how much is at stake when selling a house. We have sold our house with Richard James and the whole chain has been very difficult to set up. The service has been excellent, the staff very welcoming. It took less than a week to Hugh and his team to find a buyer. The sale team in Swindon (Hayley, Sam) is also super efficient, gives regular updates, even if nothing major has happened. Although I didn't end up going for a property listed by Richard James, Hugh was extremely helpful and friendly through all contact which is great for a first time buyer like myself. I'd recommend giving them a call to get registered with them even if you don't find a property you specifically like listed by them, as he's bound to find something meeting the criteria (the last few properties I viewed with him I hadn't even seen on rightmove before). This was my first house sale and Richard James were really friendly and helpful and guided me through every step. My house sold really quickly and I had a huge number of viewings so the marketing and pricing must have been spot on.
