Our experience with Hammond & Smith as landlords was disappointing. We were told the property had been left clean, but this didn’t match what we found, the oven and several other areas required significant cleaning. We were also concerned that the tenants were allowed back into the property without our permission, which is not acceptable to us as landlords. Throughout the DPS process, the communication felt unclear and at times misleading, despite being presented as supportive. Key information was not provided when needed, which made the process more difficult than it should have been. Based on our experience, we would not choose to work with this agency again.

Wow! If you are considering selling, then look into all the other agents in the area - then go to Hammond & Smith. Moving is stressful, but the agent shouldn’t be, and the team made it as easy as it possibly could be. Everyone in the office is brilliant at steering you through the minefield that is selling your house. The photos and description of our house were amazing, it sold very quickly. From that point, the team at Hammond & Smith were great at responding to whatever daft question we asked - nothing was too much trouble and every email, call or message was answered in super-quick time. We had several nervous moments in our move, but Alison especially was amazing at calming our nerves and liaising with all the other links in the chain: clients, agents and solicitors were all kept up to date and Alison kept them all pulling in the right direction. Thank you to everyone at Hammond & Smith; everything you did for us went over-and-above what one might have been led to expect from an estate agent. We used Hammond & Smith after a few bad experiences with other Epping agencies (who used us to drive up bids on properties.) We were 9 months pregnant, very stressed from those experiences and disheartened in the whole process. Hammond & Smith fully restored our faith in it all and made it easy and even stress-free. Alison and the team made us feel like a priority, only shared houses with us that fit the brief and that we’d love, moved fast so that we were the first in to see places and they kept us in the loop and updated throughout. They go out of their way to keep you informed and are incredibly honest and transparent (sometimes even hindering themselves) - an agency you can properly trust! Alison even went out of her way to help us with a nursery in the area! There’s no one I’d rather engage with when buying or selling a house than Hammond & Smith.

Very impressed with the guys at Hammond and Smith and with Jack in particular. We viewed a property with Jack previously which didn’t work out, but he listened to our requirements and provided a different property on their books that met our needs. He was open and transparent about the sellers needs and did everything he could to make the sale happen. Unlike other estate agents, there was no over the top sales pitch. He was just a normal bloke. While the sale was going through, we bugged him for multiple other viewings that he helped with and did everything he could to make us feel at ease. On moving day the agents helped us get our keys quickly and reduce our costs with the movers. They really are a local firm that knows their market and is a breath of fresh air compared to most other agents! Would highly recommend.

Trust worthy team with a ‘family feel’ always on the end of the phone to answer any query or if I emailed they were very quick at responding. We worked with Hammond and Smith on a potential purchase of a property. We had a fantastic service throughout the process. We worked closely with Eloise who was an absolute star! Nothing was too much trouble, she nearly always had the answer to a question and if she didn't, she was quick to find out and get us a respone. In the end we decided to retract our offer on the property but this was down to the vendor not Eloise and the H & S team. The stress over a two month period was only made worse when Jonjo sent harmful emails around when he had previously always said he knew nothing about our case. They then made it obvious that they only cared about the money when they sent their invoice weeks before we had even exchanged contracts and we still didn't even know if we were moving. We went with them because Jack was amazing and we can't fault him for the hard work he put in at the start. Joe was also great. If our buyers hadn't had issues they would be getting a raving review. But Jonjo ruined what was a great relationship and almost cost us even more money!

Moving house is a stressful time and throughout the whole process Jack made every effort to chase the chain, the solicitors ahead my need to chase him. Not only was he honest and professional he really cared and was sensitive all the way through. On the odd occasion he was out the rest of the team took up his reins seamlessly.
