GoogleIt’s a bit weird when I was calling to book a viewing on a property. At the time I am both thinking of buying a buy-to-let property and moving home. The staff answering the call just said you seemed unsure about your financial situation… and hanged up the call so I couldn’t view the property! It’s the first time I came across this since I had viewed and purchased properties in London.

From when we first arrived in Eltham Bernard Skinner has always been there and so we chose them as we thought they would understand our needs and know the area like the back of their hand, which proved to be the case. Despite the hiccups along the way they kept us informed and calmed down. Our move is now underway and so "Thank You" for all your time, effort and constant reassurance that we needed along the way. GoogleI approached Bernard Skinner, a well established family run estate agency, initially to obtain a valuation on my property. I felt I was given good advice, that the valuation was appropriate and my views were taken into account. I enquired as to how long it would take should I decide to put my property on the market, expecting it to be a few weeks. I was informed that after photographs being taken the following Monday the property would be on the market the next evening. I trusted the estate agent completely, choosing not to be at viewings, which followed immediately and accepted an offer in less than a week. The whole process was very smooth and professionally dealt with throughout. I would thoroughly recommend Bernard Skinner to anyone looking to sell and in fact already have!

GoogleI viewed a property via this agent and was told the other person who had made an offer was definitely out of the running as they have wasted the agents and sellers time, the term used was 'archived'. Once I tried to request a second viewing the agent then told me that the there was still an offer on the table for the property and that there was little point of a viewing. I was then asked how much I would offer and then when they heard the amount I was point blank refused access to a second viewing. I was blocked at every turn in looking at the property. I thought it was up to the seller to determine which offers were good not the estate agent?. I didn't know that estate agents were telling people how much money they should spend on a property which is what I was told...firmly. If I cannot get at least a second viewing how can I know if I want to offer full asking ? This agent wanted me to tell her that I would offer the full before she would even book the appointment. I think this practice is disgusting. Obviously a place I would avoid in the future.

He was very helpful in ensuring the process progressed (despite me not even being his client), particularly as my own estate agent was completely inept (an online estate agent). Happy to accommodate several viewings, even after the offer was accepted, without any pressurised sales. Amanda has also kept in contact and assisted with keeping the process on track right through to completion, which is appreciated.
