Audley Tunbridge Wells in dire need of a new concept
Audley Tunbridge Wells doesn’t compare with any of the others we have seen. We realise it was Audrey’s first development, but it now looks sadly neglected. The interior and exterior decor is badly in need of upgrading. The space for the bar and restaurant is extremely limited and uninviting. The pool, which is shared by the NHS, does not tempt one in. The grounds are uninspired. The penthouse we saw was more spacious than your flats in your new developments, but it was let down by the communal parts which made it unviable at £900,000.We’d suggest that this original Audley development needs a complete reassessment of what you are trying to do there. Perhaps it needs a different model.

Food for thought
I think it is a brilliant concept - I am in my early 60s and planning for the future. Apart from the fact that construction is ongoing the village is well laid out and aesthetically pleasing. I was suprised the average age was 75-85. (Maybe there should be some for 60 +)The grounds are stunning and would be lovely to relax in. I do wonder how much use the gym, sauna, pool & steam room get.The concept of the owners lounge is very nice and once again beautifully appointed but is it really used? I was also suprised about the kitchens they are absolutely beautiful but are they purpose built. Are you going to get value out of double ovens , dishwashers etc - when purportedly you are trying to reduce menial chores that you do and there are great restaurants on site. Most people of that age are not going to be cooking a family roast each week. The kitchens were the focal point , in my opinion taking space that could have been better used as living space as some of the living areas are small. Whilst on site parking is provided it’s not directly near the houses in all cases. If you didn’t drive I think you would be quite isolated as there are not many amenities close by. A great concept to encourage a sense of community participation by allowing the wider community to have use of the facilities this should help create a positive vibe. As I said in the title it’s food for thought

We visited St Elphins Park in Darley Dale
We visited St Elphins Park in Darley Dale whilst looking at options for my Mum, Jo (Whiteley) couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful, she was at all times professional but friendly and compassionate to Mum's situation.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit with Jo we will be sure to pass your feedback on.

First impression, buildings look ok but quite close together and little green communal area.
First impression, looks pleasant but where to go:Lizzie, our guide, was very charming and informative. As for the rest……..Kitchen areas very small Most spacious flay had a really unpleasant roof view looking directly into next flat.Communal grounds not large enough.Thought the bistro would be a good place to meet other residents for lunch but think the pricing was wrong , certainly not an everyday event. Finally, deferred fees? I really do not want to give this company 30% of the selling price!

Excellent introduction
Excellent introduction, tour and explanation of fees etc. Disappointed in presentation of apartments eg bare light bulbs hanging down, rooms not dressed as you would expect for prospective buyers. Lovely pool and fitness centre. Monthly charges extremely high as is the 1 or 2% charge per annum when you leave the property.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review after your visit to Stanbridge Earls. We find that owners would rather bring their own furniture when moving to an Audley Village which is why we choose not to dress all apartments but we do have our show apartment for you to visualise how the apartment will look but we really appreciate your feedback on this.

Overall experience was good but dissappointed to hear at the end of the tour from our host that the restaurant was not serving lunch because the chef was unwell and unable to cook especially when we felt exhausted after the visit.Dr & Mrs Raj Premkumar.

Our Experience
We had been in Northcote House a number of times prior to the acquisition by Audley Villages and were very impressed by the high quality of the refurbishment of all the rooms visited. We were met by Paul who patiently explained how the Sunningdale Park development was organised and his tour of the various facilities and the 2 flats visited was unhurried and comprehensive. All the staff that we came across were both friendly and helpful. We considered that the two flats visited were finished to a very high quality standard and the total development only occupied a small proportion of the grounds. Weare grateful for having been allowed to visit Sunningdale Park and will certainly consider it as one of our options for the future.

A productive visit
A very productive visit which was rounded off with a very good lunch in the restaurant. If we can, one critical point: Audley need to be aware that first impressions are very important. In our case it was concerning that the receptionist was really quite rude and unhelpful. We would hope that different impressions are possible when we return for a second visit. We are very grateful to Gemma who did a great job in showing us around

We were met and greeted by Jenny who was very pleasant and offered us coffee and told us in detail all we needed to know in purchasing one of your houses. We then viewed 3 houses of different size and we found them all very good particularly the larger house. We also thought the amenities excellent. However although the houses were in nice settings we have a house with with excellent views of rolling hills and Derbyshire country side which we will find very hard to leave. However we will give it a lot of thought and thank you and your staff for the excellent hospitality.

Well worth a visit
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the high finishing standards and the facilities available at this location. It is well worth attending for an inspection even if you only have a passing interest in such a development at this stage. Oliver deserves a special mention for his customer service and coffee making!
Thank you for your feedback Mr Davies. We're delighted that you and your wife enjoyed your visit to Mayfield Watford and we'll pass on your compliments to Oliver.

Visit to Ellerslie (Audley Villages) Malvern
I was recently and unexpectedly given a full tour of Ellerslie the Retirement Village in Malvern by the Sales Consultant and was most impressed by all the facilities on offer and the general atmosphere. I was shown round two flats in different buildings and was amazed at the standard of workmanship and detail in all the rooms - light, spacious, comfortable and with lovely views. The guide was considerate with my queries and the staff were very friendly. Having never thought about it at all before retirement living there now does seem very attractive.

Friday 28th April 2023
We visited St Elphins Park on Friday 28th April and met Jenny who instantly put us at our ease. We viewed 4 different apartments in different buildings and storeys to get a feel for the places on offer. We were very impressed with the interiors and reassured by the facilities such as the pool, gym and activities. The people we met were friendly and helpful. We were impressed with the care packages that could be put in place should we need it. We hope to return to look again as we have a lot of decisions to make,as we are moving from Spain. Thank you so much for the experience and Jennys expertise and kindness.

We were welcomed to our visit by Sam who went through all the elements of the village in clear detail. We were then shown around the site and to one of the show apartments which we found most helpful. We have relayed all the information to our parents for consideration. We have not yet received our restaurant voucher which was offered under our invitation and look forward to receiving this shortly. Many thanksJ Lewis & A Partington 11am visit 16/5/23

What a magnificent setting
What a magnificent setting - with the grounds and buildings so well maintained.Marie, came in especially to welcome my elderly parents on a Sunday and kindly purchased our wine to accompany our delicious Sunday Lunch. We just need to grow my parents confidence with the idea of moving to a caring retirement village.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback Mrs Tarrant. We are so pleased to hear you have a wonderful experience with Marie on your visit to Audley Cooper's Hill.

Very impressed all round...
We visited Audley Village in Sunningdale and were pleasantly surprised with what we saw there. If you didn't know otherwise, you'd never guess that this was a retirement village. We loved the mix of the historical (relatively old) main building and its history, together with the tasteful decor and modern builds elsewhere in the village. Our Sales Consultant, Paul Sines, was very welcoming, and had a great approach when finding out more about us, as well as giving us all the information we needed. We came away feeling valued, well informed, and knowing that we're given the space to come away and process everything we'd learned without any hard sell. The facilities there are impressive, with swimming pool (including a swimming machine to get your laps in), sauna, steam room, treatment rooms, hair salon etc... We ate lunch there before we left and, again, were impressed with and enjoyed the cuisine and friendly service.Very impressed all round. Top marks.

The whole atmosphere was full of kindness, positivity and opportunities to live life to the full. So much to to see there, so much to do there. There’s so much on offer that I love to do …. Painting. Writing. Swimming pool. The libraries offered peace and tranquillity and all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.I would truly like to live there and I know we would be be happy, fulfilled and keep our intellects functioning very well indeed.

This has a real village feel with the safety, support and convenience all within easy reach. The properties and the location are beautiful. Facilities and service range in the 'village' are outstanding. The care shown by Lyn when organising, during and after the visit to view the village is excellent.
Thank you for leaving such a lovely review Mrs Everson, we'll be sure to pass this feedback on to Lyn. Should you have any further questions in the future please do reach out as the team at Chalfont will be happy to help.

Loved the location and grounds
Loved the location and grounds and the properties are well presented but rather expensive in relation to similar on the open market. Rather surprised that despite paying management fees up to 30% of sale price, if you sell, is also payable. Bit disappointed that parking is not always going to be near your property. Although there is a gym and pool these are open to public members so I would question the availability to owners at busy times. There seems to be some confusion re shuttle bus into Romsey, we were told it was weekly another couple viewing at same time as us were told daily. Also other couple had a parking space reserved for them by main entrance, there was none reserved for us. First impressions count. This is the first "accommodation" of this type we have seen so cannot make a true comparison re prices and fees etc
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
