Having met with one of the larger Edinburgh companies and Stephen of Truscott Property, we made the decision to go with Stephen to deal with the sale of our late Mother’s property. When we were looking for an estate agent, Stephen impressed with his knowledge of the Edinburgh market , particularly the locality of our Mum’s house, gave a very realistic idea what a likely sale price would be and gently guided us through the steps required of us, all in his enthusiastic, friendly but professional manner. If we had a question, we could speak directly to Stephen, if we popped into the office we were made to feel very welcome and we felt that the whole team was working to make this a smooth process for our family. We decided to sell off-market using Truscott’s database and quickly came to an agreement with a buyer. Stephen kept us informed throughout and everything went very smoothly. We have been extremely happy with the whole house selling process and would thoroughly recommend Truscott Property to anyone looking for an estate agent.

Stephen was recommended to us by a friend who had had a brilliant experience with him. We got quotes from two of the bigger more well known estate agencies in Edinburgh alongside his. Compared to them Stephen felt like a breath of fresh air. I felt he was extremely knowledgable and wasn't just keen for an easy sell. He talked us through his strategy of selling the property, it all made a lot of sense. His attention to detail was second to none. The photographer he used was also impressive. Our flat sold in a far quicker time period than I ever thought possible and the offer we accepted exceeded our expectations. Some good friends were selling their flat at the same time as ours. Talking to them about their experience with a very well known estate agency made me really glad we had gone with Stephen. I felt we got the knowledge and experience of a larger firm with the attention to detail and one to one care of a much smaller agency. I was initially referred to Stephen by a sales agent at a new build development where we were looking to buy and as such I was initially cautious. Having had valuations from two of Edinburgh's more established estate agents I immediately warmed to Stephen's down to earth, personable and no nonsense approach. He didn't try to sway me by offering the highest anticipated sale price but he talked through the market, his sales approach, pros / cons of various marketing sites and the best approach to take for budgeting for a new purchase. I felt Stephen was a realist and would strive to do all he could to maximize the sale price - I haven't been disappointed. Throughout the whole selling process Stephen has been fantastic. He's been proactive in his communication, always available and knew exactly what was happening (with lawyers / the new build / surveyors). It was a relief not to have to go through a larger team who may not have been so close to the detail. Stephen acted as a friendly face for our buyers when lawyers were being sluggish which helped to ensure missives were concluded in a timely manner. Throughout the whole process it's been a pleasure to work with Stephen; I really cannot recommend him highly enough.

Excellent service from initial visit to the completion date, and even beyond. Stephen offers an extremely personalised, hands-on service with regular telephone calls and emails that kept me up to date on the progress of the sale, as well as highlighting if there was anything that I needed to do - this ensured getting the house on the market through the completion was carried out with great efficiency. The regular, personalised, communication is one thing that sets Stephen apart from the larger Edinburgh Property firms - who effectively treat you as a piece of paper on a large stack. Furthermore, Stephen was on hand at weekends and outside general office hours - again, something that sets him leaps and bounds ahead of the traditional property firms. As well as the excellent service that was provided, Stephen managed to surpass our expectations in terms of the price he secured for our property - which ended up being higher than a larger, better proportioned house in the same area. Overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending Stephen if you are looking to sell your house. His approach and professionalism impressed me when I went to view a property he was selling at the time - although it wasn’t for us ultimately I contacted him when we were ready to sell our flat, knowing his helpful manner when conducting a viewing and with high expectations . We were not disappointed! The whole process was stress free and the flat took less than 2 weeks to sell!
