Incredibly friendly yet professional team who were able to provide really practical advice on how to progress a sale which proved invaluable and really got us the best result I think we could have hoped for. GoogleUPDATE: We have now sold our previous property with Simpson Marwick and the process was as smooth and efficient as the purchase. Philip and Katie were excellent with great comms and good advice. Thanks for making a stressful process smooth! ---------------------------------- Bought a property through them acting as our solicitors. Really professional, great communications. Bobby and Carolyn responded to all our queries promptly and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. We are now using Simpson and Marwick to sell a property.

It is rare that you have a first class team in all aspects of a sale and S&M service exceeded our expectations. Having previously used a competitor a number of years ago we can honestly say that their service was far superior and personal to us throughout the process giving us confidence in what was a speedy sale of our townhouse in Stockbridge. GoogleWe contacted you completely out of the blue, 15 years after you assisted me to buy a property in Edinburgh, to buy a house in Aberdeen and we were hugely appreciative of the speed of your response which put us in touch with a local colleague of yours in Aberdeen. The professional and diligent approach combined with the local knowledge of the Aberdeen market really helped the negotiations and we felt supported throughout the process. We wanted to try and complete the purchase as quickly as possible so we were delighted that it was all done within 2 months from when we first contacted you despite the restrictions due to the pandemic and as it was over the Christmas period. GoogleI was about to instruct another firm when two friends strongly recommended I talk to Simpson & Marwick. From the first meeting (with Simon Donaldson, who came at short notice and was impressively fully prepared with all the background on the flat I was selling) to conclusion of missives both on my flat and the one I was buying, the service from the in-house team too (Joanna, Georgina and Suzanne) has been simply excellent. It helps that Simpson & Marwick are part of ESPC if you're buying and selling in Scotland. Google(While the company did finally provide compensation, it's important to note that I still experienced a significant opportunity cost as a result of their actions.) It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace. I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner. I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.
