I have a very mixed view of this company hence the reflection on the stars. It would be better if you could review the estate agent separately from the legal team. As a seller I would not use this estate agent again. Their sales pitch was good but thereafter was not so good. Attempts were made at communication but generally I found them unhelpful. Seemed unable to communicate within their own team very well. Given the substantial extra you pay for their service; it's not worth it. The company was interested in achieving quite frankly a ridiculous high price for my property. I thought I'd hit the jackpot believing they'd get that price. Unfortunately, I believe, that is why my property did not sell with this company. They couldn't be honest about what could be achieved price wise and valuable time was lost. I managed to sell my property through part exchange with a new builder, not through McEwan Fraser & Legal. As part of the agreement, the builder agreed to pay any outstanding monies due on the condition I used McEwan Fraser & Legal as conveyance solicitor. MF&L were substantially higher priced than who I had initially picked but since I was having outstanding monies paid I went ahead. Despite my reservations the legal team were excellent. I really couldn't fault them. The solicitor, Zoe, explained everything and didn't make me feel silly for asking questions. I had most of my correspondence with Zoe's secretary, Gemma. She was great with my constant worry and numerous emails. Quick to respond to my emails. Once we got to this part in process of the part exchange the legal team were exactly what we needed. As a buyer, however, I found them unhelpful. Bookings to see properties could not be booked until weeks ahead. Despite working shift work myself, I'm able to attend viewings at most times in the day/evening on any day but bookings were difficult to arrange. If that was my property being sold I'd be annoyed that someone wanted to view but couldn't because there wasn't a agent to attend a viewing for such a long time. I also found that I couldn't just download a home report. I needed to request it. After being sent a home report/ attended a viewing, I was sent a feedback form for each. It was just a ridiculous amount of feedback forms. I realised that the people that had viewed my property had also been subjected to countless feedback forms for everything. I informed their team via email that I was unhappy with the volumes of feedback forms and didn't receive a response. They clearly only care about the feedback forms for number purposes rather than actual review. So as an estate agent, no, I would use them nor would I encourage anyone else to. I would use the legal team again though.

We agreed to sell with McEwan Fraser Legal because of the great presentation made by Ken Meisak. Ken is great, warm, professional and ultimately a great salesman so a credit to MFL. He was also fully transparent with all aspects of the sale and financials involved which was refreshing and reassuring. Our trust in Ken wasn't misplaced and everything he promised was delivered. Our house was under offer within less than 2 weeks. Communication was superb throughout. Our negotiator Peter Moore was fantastic. He has that unique ability to take on the role of trusted and friendly advisor whilst remaining fully professional and having the interests of both his clients and his company at the forefront. He was always happy to chat through our options when offers started coming in and never got impatient with our questions. There was a minor issue regarding the fees which ended up being an oversight by accounts however this was very quickly resolved. I would happily recommend MFL and would sell with them again. I would give them 4.5* out of 5*.

Got in touch with McEwan Fraser when they were recommended to me. They were extremely efficient and helpful. There was always someone available to talk to. As soon as you told them who you were they knew you. That was so reassuring and made me feel as though they cared. Most of the stress and strain of selling was taken away and they did a great job of communicating with prospective buyers. Sold my apartment with McEwan Fraser in Edinburgh. The team are very supportive and fast to respond to quieries. Emma Duff was particularly patient, sympathetic and helpful with my situation and always on the other end of the phone if needed. I felt very well cared for and the service I received was genuine and personal.Despite being abroad for the majority of the process I felt completely in the loop and in control of the whole process. The online message board and account allows you to keep an eye on what's going on without having to call up everyday. Would recommend without hesitation.

I can't praise McEwan Fraser Legal enough the whole process from start to finish was excellent. Gary, Philip, Mike, Hannah and the rest of the team were fantastic. House was sold within 3 days of going to market and with the bonus of achieving more the HR Valuation. Everything was documented and we knew what was happening every step of the way. The McEwen Fraser legal team have been a pleasure to sell our home with. They are extremely professional while still retaining a personal touch. You will always feel your house is the most important. Unlike other firms they are available 7 days a week, and you can view any movement/hits on your property daily. Each step and process of selling your home is dealt with swiftly. They have also given us advice on mortgage lenders which we have taken up. We wish we used them before in selling our past homes. Nicole has been superb in keeping me informed and calm. Right from the start they were confident we could get a good price despite having failed to sell through another agent a few years before. Fabulous service, Michael Mullen was excellent , carrying out many of our viewings for us and providing good feedback as well as answering all our queries. This is such a contrast to Slater Hogg with whom we tried to sell our home some 2 years previously. They only facilitated 1 viewer in 10 months while McEwan Fraser not only generated a significant level of interest in our property but most turned into viewings. The online account and email correspondence underpinned by frequent phone calls from Laura Jane Hetherington ensured we were kept right up to date with all activity on our house sale. Laura was an absolute rock, pleasant and very switched on we found her support invaluable. I would not hesitate in recommending McEwan Fraser to my friends and indeed have already done so. I would definitely recommend using MFL to sell your property. Right from the start you are updated immediately on how your property is being marketed, when it will be go live, brochure completed etc. The message board is brilliant, no need to keep phoning into the office to get updates on viewers or information on notes of interest, you can view on line anytime anywhere. I was selling my late Dad's house and Hayley especially made the process so much less painful. Thank you Hayley. I had a large number of viewers to the property immediately and achieved a sale quickly. MFL did all the viewings which was invaluable to me due to the circumstances of the sale. I was unsure about whether I'd sell it quickly, especially at this time of year, but they were so proactive from start to finish, everyone was very friendly and kept me updated on everything, the online message board was particularly helpful so i could track the progress of everything. We initially put our house on the market with a local estate agent, but it became apparent we were not going to sell anytime soon. We live in a very rural area in the western isles of Scotland. We decided to go with McEwan Fraser after our first conversation with Diane Kerr. Her warm, friendly, professional manner made me feel confident that McEwan Fraser was the right estate agent to go with. She explained what we should be doing and what Mcewan Fraser would do for us. She was always at the end of the phone and never let us down. Lauren Duffus was an absolute delight-she looked after us with constant updates and advice on changes we could make, and worked extremely hard. She also was always at the end of the phone and nothing was a problem to her. I would recommend McEwan Fraser to everyone, especially rural areas where local estate agents are not always the way to go as they are often complacent and disregard your needs. I engaged McEwan Fraser Legal to sell my property expecting the sale to take weeks, perhaps months. Instead, I found myself accepting a formal offer at above the valuation figure the day after the property went ‘live’ on the web. The whole process was utterly impressive in its professionalism yet it felt like I was dealing with friends who were looking out for me. Scott Cameron went over the initial paperwork with me, explaining everything in detail, and in every-day language, no ‘legal-speak’ here! Thank you Scott, this was so refreshing. Victor Vass arrived at my flat and took stunning photos which morphed into an amazing brochure. Thank you Victor, you are truly an artist. After 5 years of fruitless advertising with half a dozen conventional estate agents I finally came across McEwan Fraser Legal (MFL). They are, in my view, light years ahead of the competition (who remain, complacent, risk averse, fat, dumb and happy to take money up front for so-called marketing expenses). MFL on the other hand, in modern parlance, "Get It". They are "switched on", wholly professional, tech savvy, on the ball and a sheer delight to deal with. In a little more than 6 weeks, excluding December last, they have created interest, scheduled viewings, resulting in several offers one of which we have accepted. I am more than a little impressed! Their brochure was "stunning" as was the web exposure. The App has been great - easy to use and very informative. Constant telephone and email contact has kept me in touch every step of the way. All this and more, yet their price structure is also impressively reasonable. MFL lead the way and it is for the others to get off their backsides and start to meet their clients aspirations.
