We chose McEwan Fraser Legal based on the high standard of service they promised and accepted their notably higher fees compared to competitors on this basis. Sadly, the service we received fell below expectations. In fact, cheaper estate agents we’ve used in the past have been much more communicative and accommodating, making McEwan Fraser’s premium costs feel somewhat unjustified. Whilst the initial process of putting the property on the market was smooth, once the advert was live the communication began to dwindle. Despite being assured of regular updates, communication was severely lacking. We marketed our property in February, and after raising concerns in June around the lack of updates, we received a phone call to introduce a new negotiator, but no meaningful updates followed. When we complained again in December, we were dismissed with the claim that updates were available on the portal. However, the portal reflected the same lack of attention, with marketing updates only logged in February and December. Feedback handling was especially poor, only six attempts to gather feedback were logged despite many more viewings, and just two pieces of feedback were uploaded, the last in March. No feedback was provided for any of the many viewings held over the next nine months, making it difficult for us to understand how we might improve the appeal of our property. The handling of viewings added further frustration. Many prospective buyers cancelled at the last minute or failed to show up. We had made it clear that due to our very challenging personal circumstances with our twins having been born prematurely and critically ill, and in NICU for a prolonged period, we needed at least 24 hours’ notice for viewings, however we regularly were asked if we could accomodate same day viewings. Additionally, there appeared to be no process in place to reconfirm viewings before they took place, leading to numerous no-shows and wasted time. This could have been avoided and would have saved us the effort of coordinating with family members to help, all while working around the care of our critically ill sons. Even after raising concerns, the only solution offered was to lower our asking price, doing nothing to address the core issues of poor communication, inadequate feedback handling, and broken promises. Ultimately the poor service led us to remove our property from the market with McEwan Fraser Legal. This experience has left us deeply disappointed. While selling a home is rarely straightforward, we expected far better for the premium we paid. Based on our experience, we strongly urge McEwan Fraser Legal to review their processes and improve their service to meet the expectations they set for clients.

Would not recommend, extremely unprofessional, passed around from person to person while trying to buy my ex out of the property. Distinct lack of communication between colleagues, their own teams and with myself as the client. Confusing and frustrating to deal with. Deadlines not met, goal posts changed constantly. Would say they had done things they hadn’t. GDPR breach; instead of sending my documents via courier as promised they had someone in their office do it who subsequently broke down and who’s car was then in a garage with my paperwork for days. This was all supposed to be completed 8 weeks ago and I’m still waiting. No where near good enough for the fees they charge.

The quality of the service I was provided with was very high, especially with regards to communications. I was kept regularly up-to-date on all matters relating to my property transactions, and never felt that I was left in the dark. We came to this company after being on the market for over a year with another agency in Hamilton . The service was excellent from ken Meisak who arranged a beautiful brochure for our home of 40 years . Our home was sold within 3 months of being on the market , they where precise with their service and followed up every viewer. The staff on the telephone when ever l phoned for whatever reason where very helpful and cheery, especially Jordan . I am a first time buyer and was having difficulty obtaining a mortgage and the whole process was very stressful. I contacted McEwan Fraser Legal, wow! how good these guys were. They referred me to a specialist mortgage broker who secured me a mortgage at fantastic rates. I then used McEwan Fraser legal for the conveyancing and they kept me fully updated throughout the process and explained all the legal jargon in simple to understand language. Their fees were also very competitive and they were the only legal company open in the evenings and weekends and I had my own dedicated legal contact.
