GoogleMy flatmate Katie and I lived in a Glenham property for almost two years. During this time we experienced continually growing black mould and a crumbling ceiling that sparked cracks throughout the property, revealing a lack of insulation (sunlight could be be seen through these holes!) Although Glenham would promise the issues to be fixed, the reality was that we lived in a flat that was unable to be properly heated due to heat escaping through ceiling holes and continually growing mould that caused constant sickness, fatigue, worry and stress. With an agency that refused to help us, we turned to Living Rent. Living Rent are a tenant’s union who advocate for tenant’s rights. They immediately took on our case and were a reassuring voice amongst the chaos and educating us on what letting agencies should be doing to help and what we, as tenants have a right to ask for. Living Rent gave us hope when everything seemed hopeless. They gave us a voice when we thought we had none. Glenham say they take these issues seriously and aim to talk to us to resolve the issue. In the same breath, they refuse to interact or acknowledge Living Rent. But Katie and I ARE Living Rent. We are proud members and believe that if they refuse to speak to Living Rent, they refuse to speak to their tenants. Glenham, is this the precedence you want to set? An agency that will not allow their tenants to be supported? Future Tenants, is this the agency you want to trust?

GoogleMy flatmate and I lived in a Glenham flat for almost two years. When we first moved in, the flat hadn't been cleaned. I found old tubs of potato salad under the kitchen counters, the carpets hadn't been hoovered and lots of dust. Our microwave was checked by an electrician shortly after we moved in. He told us the microwave had been condemned over a year ago and couldn't believe it was still in the flat and we had been using it. He cut the cord so Glenham would have to get us a new one. Some issues we couldn't fix, and when we informed Glenham of them they never permanently fixed them. We had an extractor fan which didn't work properly which caused black mould to constantly grow in the bathroom. Glenham painted over it only once in the time we were there and never replaced the extractor fan. We were constantly getting sick from the black mould. We were promised many times by our property managers they would find a permanent solution but this was never done. After 9 months in the flat the cracks in the ceilings became a problem. The ceiling started to crumble and a piece fell with my flatmate standing near it. The only thing done by Glenham was to drill holes and screws in the cracks in the ceiling to make sure that the rest wouldn't fall. These holes revealed there was no insulation and we could see sunlight coming through some of these holes. The winters were freezing. A structural report was done but we never saw the report telling us the flat was safe to live in. For over 14 months we had little communication about fixing the problem from our property manager. After leaving the flat we have asked to sit down and talk to Glenham about the problems we faced and how they failed at fixing them. They have refused to speak to us.

GoogleThe most disrespectful agency I have ever dealt with. I had a viewing with them and they cancelled it in the last minute because they couldn't access the apartment. I kept calling for three consecutive days asking if they have resolved the issue. On the fourth day I found that they arranged a viewing without even calling and the apartment is taken, even though I was offering a 6 months rental that was not enough for me to get a viewing or even apply for it. Disrespectful.

As a small business we take all reviews seriously, we care deeply about our clients’ experiences as good customer service is integral to our business. As a result, less than happy reports are always appreciated as we continually strive to improve our customer service. Unfortunately on the mentioned occasion, the tenant who had recently vacated the property had not returned key to our office as requested, it transpired the lock had been changed during tenancy and the set of keys we held no longer offered access. We then had to discuss the issue with the owner and tenants, arrange a locksmith to gain access to the property and install a new lock, which resulted in a delay of all scheduled viewings. When we managed to gain access to the property, viewing invites were sent to all of those who were booked in to view the property previously, those responded first were offered the chance to view and apply for the property. I am sorry you feel that our actions were disrespectful towards you, this certainly wasn’t our intention, however we had in excess of 80 people waiting to view and unfortunately, we are unable to offer priority to any particular individual in such circumstances. If you would like to discuss this with us further, please do contact the office. Glenham will always try as hard as we can to provide the best possible service for all of our customers.

GoogleI have been a private Landlord for 20 years and have always used local agents to manage my property and generally speaking, without having to deal with any major issues - until this year. At which point I decided to change agents and appoint Glenham. They have been five star all the way offering a very personal service, offering good advice and finding new tenants who have settled in well.
