Amazingly professional Letting Agents

Brilliant team at DJ Alexander. They genuinely care about the tenants. They were very quick in responding and engaging with landlord about any of the issues I had reported during my tenancy. Johan Ross has been very patiently answering all my queries during my end of tenancy process. He helped me understand the way things are settled and was very helpful throughout.

Efficient rental process

We have been trying to find a property to rent to relocate to Edinburgh.Our experience with DJ Alexander was great! Once the landlord accepted our application it was a quick, seamless process! The Goodlord software they use is user-friendly and makes the process so quick. We uploaded all our info and it was all processed and the contract signed in a matter of hours! I was impressed with the speediness. Special thanks to Sandi Whyte and Galina Webster who were really helpful and quick to reply.

I highly praise/ recommend and indeed thank Norman MacLean, Maintenance Co-Ordinator at D J Alexander, Edinburgh for an excellent Firstclass service to us, as Landlords. Since 7 October 2022 to date, Norman has been helping us manage maintenance issue which is still ongoing (not due to Norman). Norman has expressed a customer service experience second to none. He has shown extremely high standards of professionalism in all areas, commitment, reliability, mannerly, polite, attention to detail, responding promptly, taking the time to listen to your needs, (I have found the ability to listen quality with most DJ Alexander's employees both in Edinburgh and Glasgow) this quality is sadly lacking in these modern times and is an area in which companies in general should be taking on board. Taking the time to listen to their clients' needs, communication is key, without clients' there is no business. Norman absorbs information, both verbal and written very well and keeps his manager informed with progress/situation. The list is endless. I did say to Norman's Manager that in all my working years, (I am a senior lady) I have found Norman to be one of the best (if not the best) that I have had the pleasure to deal with. Keep up your excellent work standards Norman, long may it continue. DJ Alexander you have won a watch with Norman, such a committed team member who has added not only value to your organisation he is also a credit to your organisation too! Thank You

Absolutely useless estate agency

Absolutely useless estate agency. Have had 4 separate flat viewings cancelled at short notice (most of them on the day of the viewing) with no explanation whatsoever. For the one viewing that they didn't cancel the flat was an absolute tip, previous tenants had left it in a horrible state (not DJ Alexander's fault, granted) but they hadn't even bothered to clean it before holding viewings. The place stank of smoke, empty bottles everywhere and a large burn mark on the bedroom wall. When I commented on the state of the flat and asked about having the burn mark painted before moving in the agent told me "not to be too picky" and not to make too many demands as someone else would take it. They are a bunch of jokers who provide a terrible service and only get away with it because of how desperate the housing crisis in Edinburgh is. I would say avoid at all costs, but given the market I know many people simply won't have the choice

I would especially like to mention Joye, who was amazing throughout the property viewing and the whole process. Although it took a while to secure a flat in a difficult market, the team at DJ Alexander were extremely helpful in a time that was becoming increasingly stressful. We were very impressed by the professionalism and speed at which Natalie operated, and her colleague Paul was a pleasure to deal with when viewing and eventually securing our property. It my take a while, but if you are persistent DJ Alexander will be sure to put you in a beautiful flat in a prime location. Very pleased!

Guilia Ceccarelli - What an agent!

What an agent! The renting market in Edinburgh has been bananas over the past few months my housemate and I have been looking until we came across Giulia Ceccarelli. I was unsuccessful on an application to a property but instead of just forgetting about me, she did everything afterwards to help us secure a property and did it with genuine compassion. A Criminally Unprofessional Letting Agent

I had an abysmal experience with DJ Alexander. I rented a property via them for three years as a student. During this time there were countless issues at the property, absolutely none of which were attended to in good time, or by the timeframe given on our contract. As an example, our kitchen flooded due to a DJA-contracted plumber improperly installing a dishwasher. We notified them of the issue immediately, and it was not attended to for over a week. This was an issue that has likely caused structural damage to the house, yet DJA did nothing about it. As another, even more extreme example, a suspended kitchen cupboard collapsed due to improper fitment (proven by an independent joiner's review), and caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to my personal property, and harmed me. DJA are responsible for upkeep of the property, and yet refused to take any responsibility. I ended up successfully suing the landlord, and DJA were continually opaque about facilitating communication between myself and this landlord.There were genuinely countless more examples of this over our three year tenancy.My experience with DJ Alexander was, in short, criminally unprofessional. Do not use this letting agent.

Shoutout to Paul

We had arranged to move into a flat with DJ Alexander but due to an unforeseen issue with the bathroom the flat was no longer available to move into when we needed it. Paul Hyett-Czompo was incredibly helpful in trying to resolve the situation and was able to find us a suitable alternative flat for which I was able to view on the same day. He helped us progress our application very quickly and within two days we had agree everything with the landlord and signed the lease.
