Trustpilot'The problem will resolve itself'
'The problem will resolve itself' must be the motto of this company's customer support service. If you end up renting through them, don't expect them to get anything done when you request maintenance. What you will get instead are extensive tirades about the long list of things they believe you need to do before they take any action. My experience with trying to convince them to take measures against a rodent infestation have been incredibly frustrating and completely unsuccessful so far, which makes me deeply regret choosing to rent through them.DJ Alexander, having the plague would probably be much more pleasant than being your customer.Edit: Sending an e-mail to customer support has achieved nothing, as DJ Alexander can't even be bothered to respond. They may eventually take action to address your problems, but probably only if they're legally liable otherwise, and by that point will have wasted enormous amounts of your time. What an absolute disgrace of a company.

I have used several letting agents for properties I rent out in both Scotland and England. I have found DJ Alexander professional, and they always return emails and any queries we have within hours. I have recently had an issue with damp in one of my properties and Alison McInnes has dealt with the issue promptly updating me on every aspect. If you are looking at renting property in Scotland I would certainly recommend DJ Alexander

Following end of tenancy inspection, there were a number of major repairs and maintenance that needed taken care of. As I live 250 miles from the property, I left it to Sophie B. in property management team to coordinate and organise the repairs. She was extremely helpful, always prompt in her correspondences, very proactive and never hesitated, when asked, to help me with decisions in choosing materials, etc. She gave sound advice on property improvement with the right balance between spending Vs investment benefits. Overall excellent service.

Took over the letting agency my landlord used, TayLetting, read reviews to see they are buying up small agents. Then they shared personal data with contractors without permission. But worse, they are utterly hopeless at managing shared services at the property. The final straw is a schedule of charges - no other agent makes in my experience- including an automated reference, 3 questions £30. Scammers exploiting tenants at every opportunity.

DO NOT use as a landlord. I’ve had quite possibly the worst experience as a landlord when my property was transferred fromThe care of Getaghty-Gibb agents in summer 2023. They are impossible to get hold of, charge hidden fees, and don’t actually do anything to ‘manage’ the property at all. They will go ahead with work youve not signed off on and won’t bother to get quotes from different tradesmen to do simple tasks. They are clearly only interested in profits and completely disinterested in making sure managed properties are fit for purpose/marketable for prospective tenants.

The hall light switch is at the far end of the hall and, being a bit undteady on my feet, asked DJA if I could have a motion sensor switch installed. No problem. Lewis was the electrician and he came by and installed one but, it stayed on for 20 minutes before turning off. Lewis came back again, by this time it was on for 13 seconds, off for two seconds and back on again for 13 seconds, off for two seconds.....continually. He went off and got another switch but, it did the same. Oh my gosh ! Just out of the blue, he asked if I had another bulb. I thought to myself, "I can't believe a bulb would make any difference !" but.............I was wrong !Eureka ! THAT was the problem ! It's been working perfectly for two weeks now and is a huge improvement.

We are new tenants with DJ Alexander and so far have been very impressed. There was an issue with a lack of hot water in the shower and the maintenance manager David Harcus had it sorted for us the same day. With other letting agents we have used we always had to wait days if not weeks for repairs.

Great Service.This was unfortunatley quite a drawn out request due to availabiliblty of the landlord but Dale was very , very proactive and helped us get the situation sorted. I was kept informed every step of the way and never felt out of the loop.We now have new carpets throughout the house in our preferred colour.Top class customer service. Well done Steven O'Neil

TrustpilotI chose DJ Alexander because they were local and, judging by the number of their “For Sale” boards around, I thought must have good experience of the market.
I found their website was designed to give major prominence to the house being sold rather than advertising themselves. From my initial phone call, to them to getting the house on the market was a slick and efficient process. The brochure was excellent, particularly the photography. I got a large number of bookings for viewing from the first day, all dealt with by the firm, and I was notified of these, and the feedback. I received an early note of interest and I was advised by DJ Alexander on a suitable negotiated price for me to take it off the market, with a very satisfactory result. The three way communication with them and the lawyer, by email right up to settlement was very satisfactory. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

The maintenance services are excellent and respond very quickly and high quality repair/maintenance done upon request. I have been coordinating with Hannah Bayres at DJ Alexander during my tenancy and check out from the property and I had excellent experience through out this time.

Horrendous. Worst agency I have ever dealt with. Difficult to get hold of via phone. Complex online system for reporting issues. Non responsive or very poor and negligent response to urgent issues. Long winded and obstructive processes for resolving issues. “Urgent” matters (heating, plumbing, boiler issues) have consistently taken up to 4 months to be addressed. I have now put in an online request for what is classed as a “non urgent” matter (where I have simply requested permission for one of the provided mattresses to be moved into storage in the garage/ loft so that I can use my own, as I have suffered severe back pain due to the provided mattress being old and of poor quality), and I am dreading the wait that it will take before someone from the agency takes 5 minutes to contact the owner to inform them of my request!
