Could not recommend Your Move more. Out of all the estate agents I’ve ever spoken to David and Charlotte were by far the most friendly and helpful. Dear Sandra Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Whilst I appreciate your comments, I do not agree with them and do not accept they are justified. Buying a shared ownership property is more complex than a standard private treaty transaction, which is why there was an initial delay in booking the viewing. We were waiting all the necessary figures from the seller in terms of additional cost and fees, in order to allow potential buyers to make an informed decision on whether they wished to proceed or not. I personally explained to you on several occasions that we were not booking viewings in until we were fully aware of the monthly service charges as we did not want to waste your time or mislead you about any costs involved. At no point did we ask for or take a security deposit from you. The payment you made to us was for us to complete an electronic ID check, which is needed for Anti Money Laundering purposes. We use a market leading AML platform, provided to us by a company called Credas. They carry out ID checks, they screen a customer for mortality, they carry out an address check, and they screen against PEP’s (politically exposed persons) and sanctions, they also screen for liveness and verify authenticity of ID documents. There is a cost associated not only with carrying out the check, but with the administration time involved. We pass on a charge for these checks to our customers, as do most major banks, financial institutions, and solicitor firms. The fee you paid to us is a disbursement and used to cover the cost of the AML check. Whilst I understand your frustration at having to come in to our office, this wasn't a requirement, we suggested this to you as you were having difficulties completing the ID checks and we thought it would be helpful for you to come in to the office so we could help with the ID check and to also complete the housing association application form. You decided against buying the property before completing the application form to the housing association or engaging solicitors or surveyors without providing us with any explanation. I note from our records that this is the 3rd property you have engaged in negotiations with us but have decided for your own reasons to pull out of each proposed purchase. We have been using the Dudley branch of Your Move for many years now both for buying and renting of properties. We have always had excellent service from Tony and his team. Customer service and communication has been first class. Whenever we go into the Branch, no matter who is there, whether it’s David , Charlotte, Naj or Paul, they all seem to be aware of the current position regarding our properties.
