AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Used to be a good HA but has become terrible. Repairs are booked in but they call on the morning of said repair and cancel that's if you are lucky enough to get contact from them at all. Been in my house for 23 year's then I receive a letter threatening to evict me over a huge 4p owing on my rent. I have no plaster on my walls with brickwork showing, concrete flooring after they pulled up my real wood flooring, my sink is out in the back garden waiting to be put back in and they've taken out kitchen unit's only leaving me with 2 which I had to put the handles and doors on myself.I'm a disabled lady living by myself and find this a disgrace!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible! Avoid at all costs! Their customer service is disgusting! I could go on and on forever about everything wrong with places for people but i’d be here for days. I’m blind and despite moving into my home two and half years ago, I was promised a fence for my garden (which had no fence as someone stole it... classy) if I signed the papers under the agreement that I’d wait no longer than two weeks for a fence. HA! Two and half years later, nultiple phone calls and cancelled appointments on their part and I was still without a fence. I’m now waiting for a guide dog and have been told I can’t have one with a fenced garden. Places for people didn’t care at all. They told me I’d have to wait six months. I threatened going to the papers where my uncle works for them to finally agree to fix it... the next day! It took an hour, that’s all. Was it really needed to cause this much of a fuss over it? Morons! I wrote asking for permission to own a guide dog which was something else I had to do before getting my dog. I got a letter back saying I could have one under the condition I had no more pets. I was very confused as next door to me has for dogs and the other side of me has three. I rang them and ask why and spoke to a manager who said ‘if you only need a guide dog right now and don’t have another pet then I don’t see why your complaining. If you have another pet then complain to us then’ are you kidding me!? For starters a guide dog isn’t a pet dog, it’s a mobility aid. They are so rude. Today I spoke to them about an electrical appointment I had booked in for tomorrow, they were so rude on the phone and the woman I spoke to just kept talking over me. She hung up on me, raised her voice and told me she didn’t care. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me I had to wait two days and no manager was available, I asked how that was even possible and she kept repeating ‘wait two working days. Wait two working days. Wait two working days’ and kept repeating this over everything I said. Wow! Fantastic customer service. I called back and spoke to someone else who said a manager was available and to call back in a hour. How can they lie like that? I’ve been reporting my bathroom sink for six months as the taps don’t work, I’ve had four appointments and every single one has ether been cancelled without any explaination other than ‘we had an emergency’ or they just simply haven’t turned up! I had been over paying my rent every week and had £420 in credit, when I realised I rang them and asked for a rebate, I thought it would be simple but HA! I was told I couldn’t get my money back because ‘they liked to see my account in credit’ I asked to speak to a manager and they told me I could get my money back. I waited weeks and heard nothing so I rang them back again, this time again, I was told I couldn’t because ‘they were afraid my account would be in debt if I missed a payment’ despite never missing a payment ever! I’ve never once been late! I’m usually early! I had to fight to get my money back and I only got half of it. I’m trying everything I can to move away and leave them for good. Every single time you need to contact them be prepared for a fight because that’s what your going to get. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

Booked a repair and guess what stayed…
Booked a repair and guess what stayed in 5 hours and they didn't even come out. I complained online someone called me 2 days later and said some nonsense about the phone number of which she had just used to contact me talk about stupid.Their properties are getting old now and badly built but you'd think they could organise themselves they'd sharp shout with any rent arrears.Several things wrong with the property worse dripping tap when moved in the agents will let even if its dirty and needs paint to keep the profits rolling in. Finish and trims not done and heating inadequate and damp will look for someplace else soon.

AVOID
Absolutely appalling customer service and repair service. I have been in this property 18 years and not had a single thing replaced in that time. I am having window problems causing damp in the property and rather than replace the well over due windows the fudge the repairs. I have paid rent as a working tennent and I am treated like a dog by these people. I’ve replaced the kitchen and bathroom myself and for what!! To enhance the cost of their property. All pfp want is your money. Even the customer service line starts with hi would you like to pay your rent !!!!! It’s disgusting. Sell off your properties and get out of social housing pfp. You cause more harm than good. And employ more staff to answer your phones, god knows you have enough money to do so. Stay away and go to a trust worthy provider

Absolutely terrible housing association…

Suppose to be cheap! 80pw for 1 bed flat next joke! And when you want to move they want to inspect the property before even giving you a reference, never in my life has any other council or housing association done this. Can not wait to be out of the property but I feel sorry for the next tenant and every one elts they are ripping off! All they want is the rent and nothing elts sad excuse for a housing association! Absolutely disgusting housing…
Absolutely disgusting housing association. Dispite claims on there website that anti-social behaviour is a big No No we have had trouble with our neighbours for years. We have lived in our property for 3 years and although all repairs are carried out mostly in a timely manner by really nice guys, dealing with anti-social behaviour is shocking. We made a complaint about our neighbours for many reasons 1 including drug dealing and the smell of weed that stinks out our house. I’ve been threatened with violence in numerous occasions and had my car and property damaged twice. Despite providing evidence the anti social behaviour woman refuses to do anything. Even insinuating we are the problem. It’s a joke, if you want to live in a safe environment and feel like your housing association cares about there tenants don’t pick places for people. All they care about is getting their rent on time. I am taking things further now. Had enough.

Disappointing, unfair and crawling with insects
They claim to visit your property but never show up, when they do they never inform you, their workers are so clueless and have little expereince. When i first moved in i noticed the property was crawling with silverfish tails it was disgusting everywhere and the worst was when i went to sell my sofa they were swarming with them underneath, pure disgust. Repairs are never done properly meaning they are never sorted, with leaks in the bathroom to leaks near the boiler and the window handles breaking after a couple weeks. The smell for the leaking pipe in the bathroom really makes it difficult to bare. Espcially if the property is small. They disregard your concern and start threatening you with legal action. What really got me upset is that for gas check they made such a big issue for nothing because their was furniture in the way of were the checks had to be made, i was unable to move it as i am heavily pregnant and my hubby was at work and the “3 atempts” they say they made was incorrect. But he was not willing to listen to me and made it as if i was lying about a date i had given, to find out later in fact tom coonfirmed i did book the day. I always advise anyone to research whom they rent with and read reviews before considering any company.

The do sod all housing association
Well what can I say?The do sod all housing provider. Been a tenant of this housing company, for a number of years, and I can say the service is absolutely terrible. They don’t give two hoops about there tenants, now do they care about there properties. Report a repair and the majority of the time, it’s not there responsibility, report ASB or problems around the area, not there responsibility! One day late in rent and your phone is ringing off the hook.Terrible customer service, housing managers not much better. For a non profit organasation, they sure act like it!Every aspect of service is poor from this company, never used to be like this, but over the last 24 months, it has become places for do sod all!Terrible.Do NOT recommend

I have complained about next door…
I have complained about next door flight tipping at the back of our houses next to my car now for 4 months and yet places for people are only interested in rent money. They keep saying they have asked her to move it but thats all they are doing. Iv told thwm I will collect all the sh@£e up and put it at there sales office. They did not like that. I am now going to the local paper so people can see what we have to put up with being places for people tenants.

Fardusa
Fardusa, Just read Telma’s review and I know and I can proof all what you wrote is true. At least 80% of the tenants experienced the same problem or even worst but I believe a lot of People will suffer from from long term of depression if they don’t leave this company and will end up with mental health problems.Dealing with this kind of company more than 10 years, make me feel like I am “drinking my own blood”. I am feeling sorry for the new tenant who will suffer from everyday and they think they will complain about this matter. The fact is this rich company can never go to court beacuse some of the Loyer’s even work with them so don’t waste your time and energy, and if you decided to continue dealing with the amazing managers make sure your best relationship with them To pay your rent in advance all the time but never give them your direct debit and ask for repair!!!!!.

Places For People is totally RUBBISH!
Places For People HA simply DOES NOT CARE for its people and customers. They have very poor quality customer services and their repair services are shameful. The Housing officers I have met so far are VERY RUDE and speak to me like I am worthless. Lack of respect and mannerisms is rife all through its departments. I had leaking kitchen ceiling for 10 days. I kept calling them but they brought excuse after excuse as to why they cannot fix it. I had to call the fire brigade in the end and they called them up and the leakage was fixed which was coming through from the light! They are however excellent at demanding rent when it's one week behind with payment. They are disgusting and evil and should be brought to justice ASAP. My window in the bedroom does not open since I moved in and they bring excuses as to why even though I have called them on numerous occasions. Their excuse is that I didn't chase them up. I mean these people need to be in jail for crimes against humanity and FRAUD and LIES!

Average
They try to take money from people by making mistakes, if you don't notice it they will try to get away with it, in my case when I moved in to the property the rent charge was incorrect according to what stated on the contract so I had to ring them and they did put it right, great! When I left the property they took an extra couple days rent had to ring them and they put right.. great! but unfortunately council tax charge was incorrect by £20 and they simply refused to explain why was I being charged an extra week council tax and don't want to make it right by giving the correct dates to the council. I've given up talking to them now.. I believe in karma! Apart from this everything went pretty smooth.

Dont ever rent with these guys. They will mess you up so bad and then patronise you.
I got my first tenancy with places for people and god did they mess me around. I am still recovering from it. They rented out the upstairs flat to a convicted criminal who had squatters living in the house and even tried to break into my flat (I was 21 now 22) then told me it was nothing untill the house started dripping water and electrics got wet and I had to get out amd live with family (2 months into the tenancy) Places for people refused to send emergency call out engineers to sort this out and gave me all sorts of sarcasm on the phone. Latif the place manager mislead me throughout promising he was paying my bills and I was not to worry and eventually I got lumbered with a years worth of council tax for a property I never lived in. Places for people then ignored my emails/phone calls asking for evidence of these repairs to show council tax I was only there for 2 months and not the year. Even the CEO david cowan couldnt respond. Dont rent with these guys. Unless u want the drama yuck They have 0 customer care and literally dont care about you. These guys should NOT be a housing association

tbh I don't really know why people are…
tbh I don't really know why people are so unhappy with pfp as my experience has been different. I got a flat with them, you don't need to pay a deposit just 2 weeks rent rather than about 2 grand to move like with private renting. It was totally bare so I had to put in my own floor which I was happy with as I plan to be here a long time. I know it is pricey but people get vouchers for decorating when on benefits I thought. There's no landlord poking round, since I've been there my rent has gone up 8 quid. If anything needs repairing just report it it on the website. Then they come out and fix it

Places for People have now set up an appointment service by phone
Places for People have now set up a fantastic option which makes life so much easier for their tenants. If you make an inquiry via customer services they provide a link and you can book a call back at a time that suits you, Not sure it is for all services but I used it for the DD section and it was so easy to make an appointment and the service I received was excellent

We brought a Zero C house a year ago. The design and idea is amazing but the overall quality is just shocking. We are at a point now where we are looking on the market for other houses as this list just keeps getting bigger. Make sure you do your research before buying one of their homes.

Very poor
Very poor, i reported a fault and heard nothing for a week. Then by chance weh had a boiler safety inspection and he was able to rectify the issue, he worked for PFP. So he said that the job line would be cancelled, then 2 days later i get a txt message saying an engineer is visiting tomorrow, so instead of him wasting his time i called to cancel through the number in the text, i was 4th in the queue and waited for 30 min, finally got through and cancelled. then i realised they charged me £15 for the call, they have a premium rate number and understaff their call centres so they can make money by leaving people in the queue and charging 50p per min. I'm currently following this matter up and the local paper has taken interest as this is meant to be affordable housing, a friend of a friend works for the evening news and they want more info
