Absolutely disgusting

Whilst both myself and my wife are dealing with cancer and numerous other problems Places for people have left us with mould growing everywhere in a cold damp mouldy house, they have broken contractual agreements lied to get us in court lied to the judge (he saw through them and whilst nothing has been done to this date they continue to lie and bully, my stage one complaint took over a year

Is damp and mould being ignored?

Since we had a survey into a problem with damp and mould we have not had any updates. We sent a request for further information after a two week period but have still had no response. This is a situation where our health is being compromised. The issue was supposed to have been given high priority. It is now three weeks since the survey was conducted.

Awful housing association

Awful housing association, I had to deal with 6 months of abuse from neighbour across from me. Housing refused to do anything and let it carry on although there was over 50 clips of evidence and police involved saying it was a disgrace housing weren’t doing anything. Absolutely awful association and I’m thinking of taking further action. Not to mention NO repairs get done - 4 years still was waiting for repairs. Bunch of fools that shouldn’t have a job or manage tenants. Every other neighbour in the block been subject to things from this neighbour and they still don’t care, would rather have abusive tenants than nice ones.

Rubbish housing association

I have been a tenant of places for people, formally Derwent Living for 7 years. A few years ago my tank broke which caused the water buckets in the loft to flood my property. I've had a new boiler and the tank as been removed from my property, but when I phoned them to ask them for help with replacing the carpet that got ruined in the flood. I got told there was a pot but the pot is now empty and are passing me off telling me it's "accidental damage" I'm absolutely livid and will be taking this matter further with help from citizens advice bureau. Places for people my a**!!Update: I am awaiting a email back from customer care team. I also Emailed Andrew who as helped me in the past. He's talking to the relevant staff then he's getting back to me. I will update once I hear anything.

URGENT; Can i add an extension on a new build property

I am looking to purchase a Place for people built home which is lovely but i would need to add a garage and small rear extension to make enough space for the family and accomodate my mobility needs. all i want to find out is what are P4P's policies when it comes to allowing home owners to do extensions? do you usually say no? do you charge? or are you one of the good guys who says yes you can with some reasonable requests? it seems impossible to contact anyone at P4P and when i do find someone they transfer me to a line that just goes dead! The seller doesn't know much and their deed details are not clear at all. We really, really want to know ASAP and not miss out on this home so I'm reaching out here to Customerfocusteam @ Placesforpeople please can you help? please do not point me to your website as it does not have the answer i am looking for.

Disgusting and shameful company

Disgusting and shameful company! - toxic/ deadly mould in almost every corner of the house, leaking bathroom fluids from flat above, nightmare neighbour who throws trash in our front and back garden and is disruptive at early hours of the morning constantly. - Damaged recent renovation with faulty building and unwilling to help repair and fix, stay away and if possible would be great if they could face legal consequences for their neglect and incompetency!

Disgusting so called registered…

Disgusting so called registered charity, I thought this would be a lovely home, community spirit, absolutely not, no community spirit, no encouragement to create a housing association. My life has been made a misery through many years of anti social behaviour. Bought part buy ownership scheme. Ongoing anti sociable behaviour from approximately 2009. Numerous cries for help through this housing association and 1 young person that I tried to be kind to and be reasonable to where I asked they didn't play football to, advised me to get in touch with David Luff the Housing Manager if there was a problem????????

Do NOT rent from Places for People

I feel the need to leave another review after yet another poor experience with Places for People. Our shower has been leaking for months, it has been reported and we had an email with a repair date of 09/01/2024 between 12:00-5:00pm. I waited in all day, missing a days pay from work and no one bothered to show up to fix it. No one knocked at the door, or pressed the bell and there was no further correspondence from anyone to advise that no one could attend.I sent an email to the address that was given on the repair email to ask why no one came, and when would someone be out to fix it. I had a response to ask what my address was, with no apology whatsoever. I replied with the details they asked for and never got a reply.I missed a days pay, which quite frankly I really can't afford and our water bill has gone up due to the leak in the shower, which now has to go on for longer, all in the midst of a cost of living crisis. Not only this, but our fence has been broken now for nearly 3 years due to the storm we had, anyone can now access our garden and we found out from our neighbour (same landlord, also broken fence) that they replied to him and said they don't have a budget to fix the fences and no one would be out to fix it. Yet they haven't been in touch with us to tell us this, despite us chasing them up several times. We also have another repair for the gas/electric box outside and it has been well over a year for that too, with no one coming out. Despite the services that Places for People provide getting worse and worse, they put our rent up every single year without fail. When we moved in our rent was around £450 and it is now nearly £700, and will go up again soon. I advise anyone to NOT rent a property from Places for People, everytime we ring the customer service staff are rude or flippant, and all this landlord cares about is lining their own pockets. Please be wise and look elsewhere, they are truly awful. No doubt they will reply to this with an apology asking me to contact them via email which will be provided, but what would be the point? They will still put our rent up, they still won't repair our fence, they still haven't repaired our gas/electric box, they still haven't replied to my previous email about no one showing up for the repair, and I doubt they will reimburse my lost wages. Don't be fooled folks, the 5 star reviews are very clearly fake!Edit- It has been almost 2 weeks and I still have had no response about the repair, despite chasing it up!!! I am FURIOUS!

places for people socially engineer the situation to suit them

They run some pump in the attic that can be turned on remotely its relative to your flat, you can hear it, sounds like it's running on petrol. They are running devices to play mechanics on tennats.I ran a heat pump for a week, their pump went out of control could hear pistols clacking out of control have footage.Their device pump started to run randomly sounded so dumb its unreal. They must have know as they kept ringing the fire alarm 5 times a day, trying to get it to re bar the pump. They also put 5x aico fire alarms in your flat multisensor, going to a e1000g which apparently is 2g going to some landlords app that tells them when you have set the fire alarm off. It has a daft green led on the fire alarm and it's IBM Quatium optimised it slows yours devices down.I went to sleep every night looking at a dumb green led annoying as hell.

This is more about their dictatorship and bullying accounts department - I have just read on the forum how a Z. Z. The client involved apparently been a client for over 8 years too yet this person - authorised or not continues to hassle a small business.

Repairs/ maintenance department needs to be reviewed

Workmen being sent to carry out certain planned jobs/repairs but unskilled, twice in the last month signed out sick at last minute and unwilling to carry out the work needed. This problem has been long long term (from 2013). There have been workmen this year who were very good and jobs completed properly, willingly and on time , so hoping this good standard can be maintained.

This company is just unbelievable

This company is just unbelievable. I have a neighbour in the flat above who is constantly having parties until the early hours of the morning, it's 1.45 am and there is another party going on with music full blast and laughing, obviously drunk, she did the same last week it seems I am not allowed to sleep. The Housing Officer seems nonchalant and uncaring, she says it's Christmas and people have parties, but it wasn't Christmas in June/July/August etc was it? The Housing Officer also keeps making excuses about upstairs behaviour and tends to feel it's a problem for the police or environmental health, never taking ownership of the problem as always PFP, make excuses and passes the buck. Disgraceful!I also have a neighbour next door who every week has her bins overflowing and all her crap strewn in her driveway, unsecured so when it is windy which it is often her rubbish goes into my garden and driveway, it's an ongoing thing which I have complained about on a couple of occasions, I have sent pictures of broken glass in my walkway, cardboard boxes etc and now they want me to record the event on video. So they expect me to go out with my phone like a wally, when there is another storm or it's another windy day and record next-door rubbish flying in the air? They must feel I should pick up the neighbour's rubbish as they are doing nothing to address it, well I am not Orinoco the Womble from Wimbledon Common! I suggest they come around any day they want and have a look at the bins themselves and see that the rubbish is hardly ever secure, what's more, they are quite welcome to come and clean the mess up, I will provide them with bin liners. I also suggest they come out, especially at the weekend and listen to the parties until 4 am. I am going to raise this as a complaint and no doubt as they stick together it will be another tribunal, done it once before I am quite prepared to do it again. There are a few nice people who are working there who do care and don't come across as power crazy or outwardly rude, but unfortunately, they are the minority.Don't worry I have now escalated it to a Stage 2 complaint. To everyone who comments on here they aren't interested in disabilities whatsoever. I asked for their disability policy and I was advised it was none of my business as it is only shared with their staff. I have submitted psychologist reports on how my housing situation is affecting my MH and they couldn't care less, nor do they care about my physical limitations, I have been awaiting a light switch to see in the dark for over 7 months now. I hurt myself the other day due to no switch and trying to navigate to my bedroom in the dark, but pointless complaining about it as it falls on deaf ears. You complain and it's all about ticking boxes, to the detriment of your health and well-being. Put it right I think not!

Properties in complete disrepair

Places for people have declined over the past 3/4yrs. My flat is in disrepair and they have not fixed the issues despite contacting them every single day. I keep getting fobbed off each time stating that Mullens Property group will call me by the end of the day to arrange the repair. I never get a call and the cycle continues. It’s been over 3 years!

Poor service.

Unfortunately we also share so many people’s experiences. We have rotten window and door frames that let the wind through. The house is always cold and draughty. The kitchen units are rotten and don’t fit properly. Needed a new unit under the sink, the workman measured all the units seeing what a state it’s in and P4P only authorised the one unit that is completely different to the rest. Slow to maintain a decent standard of repair and upkeep but quick to drop in snotty letters if anything near the bins waiting to be removed or if you are a couple of days late paying the rent which I have never missed in 17 years.

We moved into our home on August 21st…

We moved into our home on August 21st 2005, then it was called North British Housing. How this company can get away by treating their tenants like crap is beyond me! I have been in touch with my local authority as well as the MP, I’m also getting in touch with watchdog as this cannot go no further! Over 18 years my son and I having been living in this shell of a house! The kitchen is falling apart, the bathroom is falling apart. Their plumber messed up the stop cock tap and left it leaking in my home to the point that it raised all of my laminate flooring up which I only just put down and saved up for! Their reply is for me to claim it off my house insurance! No you thieving criminals, pay what YOU OWE!! Yet their take our rent every month! Places for people my foot! You all are a bunch of con artists cow boys and this will end! You have enough to help everyone that are your tenants! You should be disgusted to see how many bad reviews you receive everyday, but hey you’re no worse than a drug dealer!

Get your Act Together!

I think PRP and their legal team of solicitors should get their act together. My mum passed away and I am trying to get closure on selling her lease hold property which she has a 25%.share. Mum had help with paying the additional charges on her home . Mum didn’t have much. She brought up 4 children and also worked PT. Our families worked hard to get her new home to a good Standard, mum was so proud of her little bungalow, we got buyers straight away. (if it was that Simple!!) issues arose like many property sales, but rather than being addressed in a timely manner by PRP the pending paper work was lefted in peoples in trays, had not been dealt with, I have done some of the chasing up of information that was needed myself. It’s been one excuse after another why it’s been taking them so long, Due to them dragging their feet there is going to be six months rent that comes out of her very small estate and counting ( mum has left what little she has to her 8 grandchildren). we still have going costs for gas & electric, costs for adjustments to the least more monies for revaluations of her property as it only lasts for 3 months. PFP & their legal team seem to have an excuse why things have nt been addressed. I have just found another person having the same issues with PFP. How many more are having the same problems selling PFP homes or buying them? Come on places for People get your act together!!!
