As I used two different services from William H Brown, I'm splitting this review in two. Mortgage Advisor Service: 5 Stars I was lucky enough to be assigned Hannah as my mortgage advisor, I can't stress enough how big a help she was throughout the process. I was a solo buyer/seller and a bit unsure of the whole process and Hannah went above and beyond helping with any question I had (even relating just generally to the process, not just my mortgage), helped me select a mortgage product, put in offers on properties and helped arrange my insurances and will. She provided a very high quality service that I would recommend to anyone, couldn't have done it without her! Estate Agents / Sales: 4 Stars I sold my property via WHB, they were very professional and helped accommodate a quick sale. I had my initial valuation with Paula, who was fantastic, explained the whole process to me and gave some great advice. Their property photographer was lovely and did a great job. All my viewings were done by WBH agents and they were able to accommodate planning those around my work schedule and went above and beyond always showing up 10 mins early so I could have my dog safely out the way for the viewings. My only gripes: -I was initially advised of a guide price of £75,000-£85,000 , I was aiming for £80,000 and asked if it'd be better to put it on the market with a guide price of 80-85 so people didn't see 75,000 and consider that the most they would offer, I was advised against this and all my initial offers came in between 70-75 as I thought they might. Putting it up at the guide of 75-85 was ultimately my decision though! - They have a tendency to leave messages/voicemails without any information on why they called which obviously invokes a bit of anxiety in this kind of process.

Terrible!!!! Called to view a property which they booked us in for with no issues. Was then called to say they couldnt do that particular date or time which was fine. I was then told they could fit us in 3 days later for a "quick" viewing at 4:30 and only 4:30. I explained this would not be possible due to work commitments to be basically told this was our option or nothing. No weekend, no weekday or even evening viewings. We are very fortunate to be sold, do not require a mortgage and in a great posistio. If I was paying this company thousands of pounds to sell my 600k house I would be less than impressed with the attitude and service. One only knows how they treat the sale of lesser value properties. My advice would be to AVOID and go with a helpful and reputable company such as Portfields.

Update 2020.Still renting out the same dangerous property in Finningley to unsuspecting families. No working smoke alarms no gas safety check but William H Brown dont have to comply. Very unprofessional company who unlike other tenancy agencies support dodgy landlords. They dont even want you to pursue your deposit. Check out all the 5 star reviews. Lots of similar dates. It is very easy to buy these reviews. Their average Google rating has suddenly improved substantially. May be they have sacked all the rude staff! This company works with disreputable landlords. Properties do not meet environmental health standards and they are aware of this but they told us they do not need to. Georgina is particularly rude and does not return calls. Staff change regularly. Avoid if you want a family home long term!! Uodated. surprise surprise no communication from WHBrown. Their staff are rude and they really do not care. Spend your money elsewhere or put your family at risk. They treat rental customers like second class citizens.

Firstly, please DO NOT send the automatic response pretending as if you are taking seriously our complaints or feedback, because you do not indeed,such a huge firm and equally such a shame. Hopefully, I could share the picture of this Maisonette flat here later on, being advertised by w h brown.it has wasted my last 6-7 months+money. I was not completely informed about leasehold, management packs,LPE forms etc...my mortgage was approved straight after viewing-agreed price and arranged my solicitor to buy, by the way, it was chain free,too. Unfortunately,this property practically can not be sold without it's management pack. I learn all about this after spending more than half a year. Their sale team should have informed people, especially first time buyers like me or avoid advertising properties has such issues. I feel so disgusted, regretful and upset after all,being left without any helps or support.
