I have been a tenant of Nicholas Humphreys for 2 years now. Last year we were in a pretty run down house with quite a few problems but Nicholas Humphreys always tried to do something about it. They got us a new fridge, new furniture and our Property manager even came out to the house to unblock the sink. This year there has definitely been a change in the way they do things. Everything is way more proffesional and when we had no hot water on a Thursday afternoon, it was sorted by Friday lunch so we weren't left without on the weekend. Would really recommend these to any students.

I had read some negative review previously and was reticent to use NH when looking for a flat for a young girl my wife and I were supporting. However the experience has been excellent and when due to personal reasons, the young girl needed to exit the contract at the beginning of the second year, Bali was absolutely wonderful in her endeavour to find another another tenant, which resulted in a very happy young lady! We work with the whole team on a daily basis and between us we try to respond to the any new works as quickly as possible, so we can offer the landlords and tenants the best possible service. Belinda, Elysse and Charlotte make our jobs easier with great communication between ourselves and the tenants which ensures the jobs in hand can be carried out as quickly and as smoothly as possible. They are all a huge credit to the business and it is a pleasure to be working along side them. Would highly recommend Nicholas Humphreys to my friends and family when are looking for a reputable business in the Derby area.

I wish there was a 0 star review for this company. When I was taken to view a few properties, it was clear that they hadn’t informed the students currently living there. The man we were with, let himself in the property and knocked once on people’s bedroom doors before opening the door. There was a girl who was indecent, she awoke startled and scared. In another room, there was a couple asleep in bed together. This was completely unprofessional. They are money grabbers who prey on the vulnerability of students who have never rented a house before. It’s bad enough that the deposit you put down for the house, you never get back, but the fact that everyone that works there appears to be fake and slimey. Up until you sign the contact it’s all smiles, but once any problem arises after that they really do show their true colours. STUDENTS stay away!!!

I have used NH property letting service and property selling service now in Derby for over 7 years . I highly recommend their services . In particular I would single out Belinda Cunningham in the rental / property management department as providing a first class service at all times. Belinda always ensures that your property when under her care is maintained to the highest levels . Annie Hurst in the sales department always tries to get the best and fairest price when selling . 5 stars service.

Horrible experience. Don’t go through Nicholas humphreys and do not stay at Norman house. First I paid for a deposit on a flat that I was told a few days after I couldn’t move into after they already reserved the room and took my money, so they gave me a different flat. I Didn’t have proper hot water running for the first 2 months and was given no property manager number to come deal with situation. NH kept delaying the issue. There was a fire which ruined my en-suite bathroom and master bedroom and left the walls all moldy. I couldn’t sleep in there for 2 months. I wasn’t given no compensation. To top it all off their plumber they sent out to fix the water broke my door chain and they charged me for it! Saying there’s no proof for that. Avoid this company and Norman house at all costs.

Used NH for our new property rental and subsequently for our second property 6 months later because of the service experienced. Got tenants signed in less than 24 hours. 5 stars to Belinda and the team. Had a couple of repairs and one tenancy renewal which seems to have gone well although did have to ask for the interim report and would have liked photos too. Previously used another agency who's service wasn't great so very cautious and weary of letting agencies. Would definitely recommend NH and specifically Belinda.

Rented a property managed by Nicholas Humphreys for a year, any problems were always quickly resolved and find the letting agent really easy to communicate with. Unfortunately our property was sold by the landlord and we had to vacate the property. The property manager Holly was very sympathetic towards the situation and really made the difficult time alot easier, she has been so helpful working around our moving dates etc for final inspections and emailing us back quickly. They also gave a good reference for us for our next rented property which has helped in the referencing process. Thanks!

Extremely negative experience with Nicholas Humphreys. They were difficult to contact when support was needed, their response was always either delayed or non existent and when it comes to either supporting the tenant or the landlord you'd better hope you're the latter. Nicholas Humphreys will sanction the withholding of a tenant's deposit at the end of a term regardless of whether they agree with the decision or not - The landlord is their client and this is where their loyalty lies. They are not a company to support the tenant. Such a disappointing period with Nicholas Humphreys.

Firstly falsely advertised a student property as bills included when we arrived a month later was informed they was not included spent 8-10 months trying to sort this out between then with little contact, further more they believed it was acceptable to be without a washing machine for 7 weeks and wouldn’t help us with laundrette fees, any fixes to the house that we made them aware about lasted a matter for days before breaking again

It is advisable you avoid bills inclusive apartment with the agency and landlord connected to the agency as they will rip you off your money especially towards your end of tenancy. They mostly rent to Africans and threaten them like they live in the country illegally. Students live here legally why threaten them when you have their documents. This agency will make your life terrible with almost twice a week sale viewing. Most of the apartments they manage at Uttoxeter New Road are of same landlord which has bad environment/surrounding.

Edit: With a new mix of staff the agency has become reliable. Old: Richard is the most cynical man I ever met. He's trying to make my group move into a house with health hazards and missing furniture, blowing each of us off when we want to speak about the issues. Two more weeks, if things don't get sorted by then we'll be going to the property ombudsman, it's not on.

Was an easy process of claiming keys and the people at humphreys are amazing so quick with responses and questions. Only let down would be how clean the property was when moving in as it needed a full deep clean before unpacking half of the belongings. With the big deposit was expecting more appliances to be provided then just a tv and a small travel kettle.

If I could give this company 0 I would. Disgusting service with tenants, intimidating on the phone and condescending in person. Not a personable member of staff in the derby branch. Mould in the flat was claimed to be our fault, radiators weren’t fixed for months during WINTER. The mould eventually lead to me having health issues which have only been resolved since moving out. I thought all letting agents were this bad until moving, any students who are looking to get accommodation in derby AVOID Nicholas and Humphrey’s they are HORRIFIC. They treat all students like children regardless of age. So many other bad things to report on these agents and I feel sorry for other students like me who just wanted to find a nice flat to live in during university. If any students are reading this and wondering about who to go with, the student letting guys are AMAZING agents who treat their clients like clients and not annoyances.
