Prior to deciding to move house we’d noticed that Ian was very active on social media and seemed to be different to other local estate agents consequently we arranged to meet Ian in order for him to give us a valuation etc. Prior to that meeting Ian hand delivered some material outlining his ethos and marketing strategy. This simple act reinforced our belief that Ian did things differently. The meeting itself also confirmed the difference between Storeys and other agents . Apart from using a professional photographer and videographer in order to show the property in its best light. Ian suggested we redecorate our lounge by repainting a feature wall in a more neutral colour. We followed that advice and were amazed by the results, we actually preferred the ‘new’ lounge. Within a week of launching the property there were 10 viewings booked. Aidan conducted their viewings (having first visited us to learn about the property) leaving us free to go out for the day. A few days later Ian secured an offer that we were delighted with. Since that point, Ian and his team have kept us fully informed of everything going on and always responded to questions etc. promptly. Some people might consider a fee of 2% of the sale price to be high or higher than some other agents. However, in my experience, price doesn’t equal cost. We could have gone with a cheaper agent but, had we done so, I doubt we’d have achieved the sale price we did. Consequently we believe that despite paying a slightly higher fee, we have received a higher price for our property. Would we recommend Storeys to any of our friends? I feel I must comment on my experience of buying a house in Northwich marketed by Storey’s estate agents of Davenham. For reasons I will not go into this was my 3rd housing transaction in three years, so punch drunk would be an apt description of my state. A further complication was that this move would be from East Sussex, 250 miles and 5 hours away, adding a further layer of stress to the proceedings. There are some notable differences between Storey’s and some of the other Agents we dealt with in the buying/viewing phase, chiefly Ian and his team listened. Our brief was that we required a detached house with at least 2 bedrooms with en-suite facilities , so unlikely to be a 4-bedroom property. A separate or attached double garage was also high on the list. Being slightly old fashioned, we travelled up, stayed with friends and visited all the local agents. We sat and talked our requirements through with them all and then, for the next few weeks, received mostly inappropriate property alerts. Including properties with no garages and no en-suites! Only two agents managed to avoid doing this, Storey’s and another independent. Also impressive was the whole marketing package that was employed by Ian and his team, a cut above most of the rest. We sold our house around June and started to favor one of Ian’s properties that we had seen in the spring. There followed a highly detailed, tough negotiation that resulted in our final offer being accepted. During this negotiation I was impressed by both the communication and sales skills displayed by Ian. I paid more than I felt I should (although you never really know) and yet everything remained cordial and professional, a true testament to a highly skilled negotiator. This would be praise indeed but things got even more impressive. All communication was quick and professional, supplementary visits were arranged; nothing was too much trouble. A building survey resulted in a slight renegotiation, again this was handled swiftly and to my satisfaction. Then the process moved to a new phase where Ian’s sales progression department took over. In the highly frustrating months that followed I found out more about the lower chain from Storey’s than my own agent! Suffice to say that without their efforts I feel sure the whole chain could have fallen through. They were the responsible for the final property at the top of the chain and yet talked to all the agents and many of the solicitors! I bought my first property in 1978 and have purchased many since then but my understanding of the market is nowhere near that of Ian and his team. This is a fresh take on estate agency, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I hope I will not move again for many years, but I will use no one else for my property requirements going forward. Moving house is known to be an extraordinarily stressful experience, but Storeys have been professional and reassuring every step of the way. Their communication is second to none, and their dedication and perseverance is worth every penny. What sets Storeys apart from other estate agents is that every step of the process is handled by true experts. That started with focused advice on preparing our house for market with an accurate asking price, and specialist photographer and videographer. Viewings were booked within concentrated windows, which was particularly helpful for our busy family. Ian soon secured us an acceptable offer, whereupon we handed over to the often unsung heroes of the process, the sales progression team. We were in an unusually complicated chain, but Sophie truly went to bat for us, chasing all levels and uncovering issues that other agents and even solicitors had missed, before they had the chance to derail the process entirely. We're comfortably in our new home now, happy to recommend Storey Estates to any prospective home vendors.

I have been meaning to place a personal review for some time but life has always gotten in the way. Today I made the decision to write my very first Google review. I would never normally do this but I truly feel in my heart that I should. I first dealt with Storeys Estate agents when I sold a property in 2021. The level of service and communication I received was exceptional. From the first contact I made with Ian I was so impressed by how professional and efficient he was. He came over to value our property and gave so many helpful hints and tips that would really help us to get the best price for our property. The marketing strategy that he uses is completely unique and I was confident straight away that he would get as much interest for our property as possible and ultimately get us the best price.
