GoogleAvoid this scam/scheme in any way possible, they essentially have the landlords back against yours, I had evidence against a final charge to which there's no option to dispute. Landlord says you owe x amount and reposit says you have 3 days to respond or we will charge you anyway. If you'd like to appeal it'll be an extra £60 you need to pay immediately. The idea of a lower deposit may sound good at the time but they charge you each year, so it builds up. With the old way the landlord can only take what you pay, this way they can ask whatever number they think is worth it. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Also most of the reviews are made by in-house staff. So don't be fooled.

Hi Ross,
We’re sorry to hear that you feel dissatisfied with your experience, and we’d like to clarify a few key points about how Reposit works to ensure fairness for both tenants and landlords.
Reposit is an FCA authorised business offering a legal and transparent alternative to traditional cash deposits. Our service includes a structured dispute resolution process overseen by an independent third-party adjudicator, who assess all evidence fairly from both sides before reaching a decision. Reposit is not at all involved in the decision making process when a dispute is raised.
All tenants have the right to dispute any charge made against them. We give every tenant a clear opportunity to respond to proposed charges within a set timeframe. If a tenant disagrees with the charges, they can raise a formal dispute, and the case is passed to our independent adjudication provider (The Dispute Service). This process ensures that evidence is reviewed impartially, and a decision is made based on facts, not assumptions.
The £60 dispute fee is fully refundable if the adjudicator finds even partial fault with the landlord’s claim. This fee is not designed to penalise tenants but to discourage frivolous disputes and ensure the adjudication system is used responsibly. This policy is clearly outlined in our terms and conditions.
With regard to our annual fee, Reposit is not a traditional deposit scheme. We offer tenants a lower upfront alternative to paying five weeks’ rent as a cash deposit. The annual fee helps maintain the protection that Reposit offers for the duration of the tenancy, which many tenants find preferable to tying up hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
Finally, please note that we take accusations about fake reviews very seriously. All of our public reviews are left by verified users and like any regulated business, we are subject to oversight and compliance checks to ensure honesty and fairness in our operations.
We understand that dealing with end of tenancy charges can be stressful, but we’re committed to providing a fair and transparent process for all parties. If you’d like us to review your specific case again or clarify the adjudicator’s findings, please feel free to reach out to our support team directly on hello@reposit.co.uk
Kind regards,
Reposit Customer Support Team

GoogleDo not use Reposit
Yes it’s great for not having to pay out such a large amount for deposit and rent upfront etc but do not be fooled. I left a rented property few months back may I add “rat” infested, the landlord reporting such silly stuff that she is charging me for through reposit, it’s also £60 to dispute also may I add. They go into your bank account and take the money if it bounces they try again few days later. Never ever again I’m so glad I’m with a housing association now never private renting again and most definitely not he recommending Reposit to ANYBODY.

Hi Shannon,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We would like to clarify that the £60 dispute fee is refundable unless the adjudicator fully upholds all the charges raised by the letting agent or landlord. If there is any reduction in the charges, even a small one, the fee is either refunded to the tenant or deducted from the final amount owed.
The dispute fee is in place to help prevent frivolous or unfounded claims where the charges are deemed reasonable and justified.
In your situation, it appears that the charges were automatically accepted due to a lack of response within the given timeframe. Please note that multiple notifications were sent before any automatic acceptance or debt recovery process begun.
If you would like to discuss your case in more detail, our team would be happy to review it further with you. Please contact us on hello@reposit.co.uk.
Kind regards,
Reposit Customer Support Team

Hi Kerry,
We’re sorry to hear how difficult your experience with the property was, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.
We want to clarify that the charges you’ve mentioned were not issued by Reposit. They were submitted directly by your letting agent, and Reposit is required to process the information they provide. As we explained in our email correspondence, we cannot negotiate or amend charges on a landlord or agent’s behalf, nor can we comment on the condition or management of the property itself.
Reposit did make the formal dispute option available, which does allow tenants to challenge any charges raised. As this wasn’t completed within the dispute period, the charges were automatically deemed accepted under the terms of the Reposit service, and we are now obligated to pursue them.
We understand this situation has been distressing, and we are genuinely sympathetic to the circumstances you described. While we must follow the process fairly for all parties, we are always willing to help you manage repayment which would stop further action to recover the funds.
If you would like further support or clarification, please reach out to our team at hello@reposit.co.uk and we will do everything we can to assist.
Kind regards

My first and last time using a deposit replacement service! Tenants left the place as if they had no deposit to protect. They passed references ok and on inspection not too bad! But on leaving Carpets needed replacing due to smelling of urine rotting food left in oven and fridge filthy broken hob, pet damaged wallpaper bedroom painted black! Full evidence sent! Claim rejected. £1600 down including 4 weeks empty getting tradesmen to start repairs and replacing carpets I couldn’t claim for as “it was too late” in comparison recent tenant with “proper deposit left place spotless” lesson learned! Final straw! Selling up… a shame that this experience means I would never allow a tenant to use reposit again. I would never take the risk..

Hi Rosh,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with the condition of your property and your claim experience. We completely understand your frustration, especially when it comes to ensuring your property is returned in good condition.
Reposit aims to provide a transparent and fair process for both tenants and landlords/letting agents, and we regret that your experience did not meet those expectations. We take your concerns seriously and are happy to review your case to see if there was anything that could have been handled differently. If you haven't already, we would encourage you to reach out to our customer support team directly on Hello@reposit.co.uk so that we can further investigate your specific claim and help resolve any remaining issues.
As with a traditional cash deposit, please note that the deadlines issued with each Reposit must be respected and we send several reminders as these deadlines draw to a close. If it was in fact too late to make a claim on your Reposit, we won't be able to ensure that the insurance cover is honoured.
We understand that this situation has been disappointing, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We value your feedback and hope to improve our service based on your experience.
Kind regards,
Reposit Customer Support Team

GoogleCloser to a scam than any actual benefit to tenants. Sold as a better alternative for tenants when renting as you don't have to put a deposit down in the traditional sense and that it is like insurance for landlords. But what it leaves out in the description and hides away in all the small text is that the tenants are still responsible for any charges the landlord makes and you pay an extra £60 for the privilege of disputing it. You only get 7 days to respond to a claim too. So they take your money and do absolutely nothing with it to make a tenants life easier.
Would definitely not use again.
Chris · 8 June 2025
Agent replied · 8 June 2026
Hi Chris,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to learn that your experience with Reposit did not meet your expectations.
We understand that Reposit may not be suitable for everyone. However, many tenants appreciate it as a flexible and more affordable option compared to traditional security deposits, as it allows them to pay a smaller, non-refundable fee at the start of their tenancy instead of a large upfront sum.
We strive to ensure transparency throughout the process. Which is why when setting up their Reposit, tenants are asked to confirm their understanding of the following key points before any payment is made:
1. I understand that I am still liable for any charges at the end of the tenancy
2. I understand that at the end of the tenancy, my Landlord may register charges via Reposit. I will be notified of these and can accept them or raise a dispute
3. I understand that if I do not respond within 7 days, the charges will be accepted and I will be automatically charged or held legally liable for the full amount. If amounts remain unpaid, this can affect my credit score
4. I understand that it's my responsibility to ensure my contact details are updated so Reposit can notify me of any claims or updates to my Reposit
5. I understand that if my tenancy lasts for more than 12 months, I will be charged an annual fee of £30
Tenants who do not agree with these terms have the choice to opt out of Reposit and opt for a traditional deposit instead.
You can also find comprehensive information about how Reposit works, the end-of-tenancy procedure, and the dispute resolution process in our FAQ section on our website.
If you are open to discussing your feedback in more detail and providing insights on how we can improve the clarity of Reposit's terms, we would welcome the opportunity to learn more. Please feel free to contact us directly at hello@reposit.co.uk.
Kind regards,
Reposit Customer Support Team

GoogleTerrible experience. Loaded in favor of landlords. They can make claims for any charges
without providing any evidence and if a tenant wishes to dispute this they have to pay £60 upfront. In my case, I came to an out of court settlement with my landlord who effectively settled my claim against him and paid me to leave the property. This process went smoothly and after I left is now seeking these so called charges from me via redeposit… please avoid like the plague… these people are on the landlord side… not yours
Carlos · 8 June 2025
Agent replied · 8 June 2026
Hi Carlos,
Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and we understand that end of tenancy charges can be frustrating. At Reposit, our goal is to support both tenants and landlords/letting agents by providing tenants with lower upfront costs, thereby offering a more affordable alternative to traditional deposits.
We appreciate your concerns about your landlord raising charges without providing evidence upfront. However, if a tenant disputes the charges raised, the landlord/letting agent is required to provide sufficient evidence to support their claims.
Regarding the £60 dispute fee, we want to clarify that this is fully refundable unless the independent adjudicator, who is a neutral third-party, agrees with the charges raised in full. The fee helps to prevent frivolous disputes and ensures that only reasonable disputes are raised.
If you would like further support, please contact our support team on hello@reposit.co.uk.

GoogleWe recently sold our house through Olly and we were so happy with the whole experience. House selling/buying isn't always the easiest and he really put us at ease throughout the whole process.
He was always available to chat if we needed, and really went above and beyond to help us out - even popping up without a second thought with his spare key to let us in, when our lock broke and we were locked out!
He was really committed to helping us sell our house, and seemed to be there all the time showing people round! We sold our house at asking price within a pretty short amount of time of us listing and couldn't be more greatful for his help.
After having bad experiences in the past, there really is no-one else that we would consider using to sell our house!
