We have used Martin & Co as a buyer, landlord and then a seller! Throughout the years James and the team have been fantastic. We needed advice along the way and it was always given in the most professional and thoughtful way. We had a long drawn out sale as buyers, and then a long drawn out sale when we sold the same property some years later. James was in constant contact with us, the buyer, our solicitors and everyone in between to chase things along. Viewings weren’t always easy with the tenants but we got there in the end. Michael was very prompt at writing up any feedback on the online portal and answering questions when needed. When we used the management services as landlords we also had a very good experience and felt reassured the flat was in safe hands while we were living abroad. I sold my House in Crystal Palace with Martin & Co. James and his team were relay amazing and worked hard to get all sorted. I liked his calm way and clear view. There is no overselling in either direction and really good support during the whole process. And we needed it as my house was a shared ownership property transitioning to 100% ownership for the buyers. That made everything more complicated. James supported both me and the buyers brilliantly.I would use him again for either side buying and selling as I think he is a very fair person. Thank you James

Exemplary service by James, Annabel, Michael and all the team at Martin & Co. I had been recommended Martin & Co by a local solicitor who specialised in conveyancing, and the recommendation was worth its weight in gold. I asked for the team’s advice on renting my flat and they gave me very sensible, sound advice re: prices and a reasonable rate for managing the flat in my stead. They also organised and did all the arduous paperwork very efficiently, as well as getting electricians and plumbers in when some initial issues were found with my plumbing and electrics. They did a fantastic job advertising the flat and found a lovely couple to be tenants very quickly. I would recommend Martin & Co to everyone local to the Crystal Palace area, and will be using Martin & Co again when I eventually decide to sell the property!

We’ve rented a flat through Martin & Co for 7 years and during the whole time they were always a pleasure to deal with. When we first found the flat through James he was only just starting the business but we were not surprised to see it rapidly becoming a success as he is a very professional and decent guy. Our landlord sold the flat some time after we moved in but the new owners kept us as tenants and the flat management was given to Martin& co and we couldn’t fault them at all during all these years. They were always quick to fix any issues and were very supportive all the way through. When we wanted to move out as we have bought our own place the lockdown happened and they were once again very supportive and understanding and we were allowed to stay until our purchase was complete. I instructed Martin & Co to act as managing agents for my property in Crystal Palace, and then to act as estate agents on the sale in March. I have been really impressed with the standard of service James and his team consistently delivered. They have utterly shown up the other (supposedly more upmarket) management agents that my girlfriend uses by, among many other things, demonstrating fantastic initiative, using their experience to preempt issues, being incredibly responsive, always providing insightful advice on what to do during some challenging issues and otherwise generally building tremendous trust with me and with the tenant that they have already foreseen and addressed any issues that may arise. I have been equally impressed by James's service as an estate agent, particularly as it only took one viewing to sell the flat and a mere 8 weeks for the transaction to go through, very much to his credit and due in no small part to his assistance with queries and generally prodding the buyers along. Would not hesitate to recommend and indeed I have, as we have now replaced the agents on the other property with Martin & Co! A pleasure to work with.

I can’t speak highly enough of James, Michael and the team. Fantastic service over 2019 when looking at possibly renting, and then eventually selling my flat. Lots of help with potential landlord responsibilities if I had gone down that route, and some useful contacts supplied for electrical testing and similar. James kept a tab on the conveyancing and even helped obtain some documents that my sellers solicitors were being slow about. M&Co Crystal Palace offer a really friendly, personal approach and I would highly recommend, and happily use them again.

Stay away from this agency! As a tenant I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. After 12 years of renting they breached the contract by giving only two months notice in the middle of the contractual year. In addition to that they kept for themselves £1700 deposit without giving any explanation. Pure rubbish!

They gave us clear, low-pressure explanations, great help with logistics, and then found us tenants that seem to be a dream. If I could award more than 5 stars I would. James and staff handled a really tricky sale of my property. I Can't THANK him enough. Martin & Co really earned their commission on this one. Any emails were answered promptly. I was not left in the dark wondering what was going on. He pushed and prodded solicitors, not just mine but all along the chain. If only all Estate Agents were like this. I always felt James had my best interests at heart when we hit a snag. And we hit many Snags!!! I recently bought a property that was sold by Martin & Co. It was a tricky sale as the freehold needed to be purchased and the seller was very anxious to complete (and he was constantly threatening to pull out if it didn't complete in time). I honestly don't think it would have gone through without James, who was amazing. He kept in constant contact with everyone the whole time and chased all the lawyers involved (mine and the sellers) to make sure all the necessary steps were done in time. That was my experience as a buyer so I know that if I ever sold my property though Martin and Co, James would do everything in his power to make sure the sale completed and nothing held it up.

As a non-UK resident landlord, having an efficient property manager for my investment is crucial. After all, I am on the other side of the world and am trusting them with my property - which is my pension !! I came to Martin & Co as a landlord after several years with a big name lettings agency - and what a relief. I should have switched earlier. The previous agents were a complete nightmare - losing track of paperwork, ignoring communication from tenants, keys going missing - the works. James and the team are the complete opposite - completely professional and with a personal touch. As a client, you feel like a member of the family. When I ring up, all I have to do is say my name - and automatically James, Lucy or Annabel know who I am and what's the latest situation. At the previous agency I would have to leave 3 voicemails, 2 e-mails and only get a response days later. There was constant staff turnover, and none of the new agents knew anything about my flat or my tenants. When I let my flat, James had 7 potential tenants by for viewings the next day - and a lease was signed soon after. Full service management of the flat has been smooth from day one. If you are a landlord with property in the Crystal Palace area - I can't recommend highly enough that you use Martin & Co to manage your investment.
