Oscar Evans at Foxtons in Croydon was simply wonderful. From start to finish Oscar kept me informed very regularly as to what was going on. I met Oscar twice and what a delight. Oscar has impeccable manners, he is approachable and easily contactable and made the process stress free. Oscar was professional throughout and he got me a price for my property that was above the market average. I couldn't ask for better. In short Oscar is a fantastic estate agent and I would definitely use Foxtons again as a result. I dealt with another estate agent for my purchase who were a nightmare in comparison. Thank you to Foxtons but thank you for having such a wonderful member of your team in Oscar. Very happy indeed.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Very disappointed. I found a short let property on their portal myself, the agent (Amir Abbasian) kept suggesting either awful properties, or ones over my budget. They were very quick to call back and close the deal but once the deal was made, I never once was able to speak directly to my agent Olivia Taylor, or anyone from Foxtons again. Repeated messages and email queries went unanswered. Every two weeks a new person would be in touch and all my queries would be ignored. The property was nice and in good condition but i paid Foxtons 350 pounds for the end of tenancy clean, and was slapped with a 600 pound cleaning claim on my deposit. The property was never cleaned and my landlord claimed the charges from my deposit. at least a dozen emails later, I still don't have a protection document number for my deposit. I was told my deposit was protected. I ws told I would be provided an inventory upon moving in. I was told the place would be cleaned at the end of my tenancy, for which i paid. None of the above happened. Still waiting for part of my deposit to be returned, even though they said it was transferred three weeks ago and should take 5 to 7 days to be credited. I've settled the dispute with my landlord now, even though it is extortion, but it seems even he was being cheated by Foxtons.

Massive thanks to Diana Chiper who was my letting negotiator for a flat in Croydon. From the house viewing itself she was thoroughly engaged in presenting the property and has been pro-actively in contact with us for the whole process afterwards. She has been incredibly helpful, patient and very supportive during the whole background check and she has such a delightful and positive attitude that definitely helped me a lot while I was anxiously waiting for one of my outstanding references that was taking a longer time than expected to be processed. House-hunting can be a whole extra full job sometimes and it can definitely cause a lot of stress, but her assistance and effort was absolutely gratifying.

Foxtons have made finding and securing our new rental home such a smooth process. Salonee and Dipan were the most brilliant and helpful agents throughout, and were always on hand to provide information and guidance so we knew exactly what was going on (especially as we are four tenants with many separate forms to fill in). Salonee was lovely, approachable and informative when we met them and viewed the property and answered all our questions, and Dipan has also been great helping us put in the best offer we could and sorting our let alliance forms. So so great and we can’t wait to move into our new place!

This bad for landlords because they get poor management, bad for tenants because they get poor representation, and bad for the industry because estate / letting agents are no longer accountable.

Do not rent through Foxtons

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.

Not to be trusted, they cancelled my viewing 4 times for no reason (we don't have the key, the tenant is not letting us in, there was a glitch in our system). They also booked a mortgage advisor without telling me even though I told them I had one. The last time they cancelled, the original real estate agent that booked the meeting had her colleague call and cancel. If they treat potential buyers like this I can only imagine how poor they treat people looking to rent.

I've recently started renting from Foxtons. They are both the letting agent and the managing agent. I have never paid so much for such a bad service. None of the extractor fans work, my heating doesnt work, the curtain rods are bent and now one has fallen off & luckily no one got hurt because they have taken so long to resolve the issues. I'm wondering is this even legal?

Outrageous and awful management service

As a landlord (don't hate me!) paying for a managed service, they tried to charge me £90 + vat to fix a meter door with two cable ties. This is typical, and I have to chase them repeatedly for everything. My tenants and I deserve better.
