I rented a flat through Bairstow, and I could't have ask for a better service. The agency was very through to perform and document all their checks for electricity ,cleaning ,repairing. The letting agent that showed me the place and guide me through the process was Doug. Doug was an absolute star! He was super flexible with the viewing on last second, called back quick whenever I emailed to ask for clarification and offered greater tips about the area. We hand delivered a new direct debit form when they increased the rent by £10.00 pound to the branch manger. We were reassured everything is fine and no further information is required from us. So we went to holiday. On our return we received letter saying we didn't paid full rent and had to pay a fine. It took several calls and visit with branch manager to convince we are not at fault and shouldn't pay fine. When we left the property after 6 months they gave negative feedback to our new Letting Agent saying we didn't pay additional £10.00 on time on one occasion. How disorganised, low, and unprofessional! Nearly made us homeless. It was 5 years ago but still annoys me until now. After having a bad experience with another estate agent I got in touch with Bairstowe and Eves to sell my property. I was looking for good service, good communication and as quick of a sale as possible. Bairstowe and Eves offered just that and more. Ian was my main point of contact, he was available whenever I needed to talk to him and he kept me updated of every part of the process. They had secured an offer within three weeks and smoothed out any potential issues along the way, always on hand to offer advice and support. Ian really did go above and beyond and made a potentially stressful process pain free, I really appreciated the time he took to talk to me and offer advice. The whole team was always helpful and supportive including Richard who was really on the ball. The whole sale took just two months to go through. Doug at the east croydon branch is phenomenal. I required a very quick turnaround in letting a new house and he just made it happen. He has a no BS methodology which I really appreciated. Even though he didn't know me at the time he really stuck his neck out for me to ensure we was housed in 2 weeks!! Which is an unbelievable turnaround. I have mixed reviews regarding rest of staff at Bairstow Eves. Some helpful, some not so much. When I called a few times with questions, they seemed unconcerned and unwilling to help, however my experience with Doug outweighs that hence the 5 stars. We arrived in Croydon and we were looking for a good apartment for two. The apartment we liked was shown to us by Doug . From the moment we met him, we found him to be honest , forthright, extremely patient and responsive to all our needs and questions. I wish there was a zero star rating but I cannot advise more highly to not deal with Bairstow Eves. Two years ago I moved into a property in Croydon which I was never informed had persistent water outages (which was well known to them). As my luck may have it, the day that I moved in was the day of one of the outages which lasted a whole week - no flushing of loos, using of washing machine, showering - nada! The complete lack of support, communication and incompetency of Bairstow Eves, who refused to refund me the rental amount for the week when effectively my property was inhabitable, was shocking. It was only on the last day of the outage that alternative accommodation was suggested - in the meantime, going down to the one tap in the building with buckets of water was the solution (and one big bottle of water a day allowed). The property management company they use - Countrywide - are truly inept. Nothing ever got fixed in a timely manner, and communication, like BE was dire. And finally, if you are mad enough to use Bairstow, do NOT use the broadband company they try and get you to sign up for (Home Telecom); the rates are exorbitant, the internet steam powered/patchy at best, and customer service (do notice a theme here) equally useless. In short: if you want an organisation that is professional, has empathy and at least a modicum of customer care, then Bairstow should not be your choice of estate agent. I was asked to write a Google review by BE, so here it is...

Absolutely disgusting service!!! I moved in of May 2018 with all window handles broken on my 10th floor apartment and also all heaters broken in all communal areas, which meant there was a constant draught and I could not turn on the heating to compensate for it. This was reported on the day I moved in and after constant emails, many days Working from home so 5 different contractors could take a look and quote it was fixed in MID DECEMBER!!!! It was even a case of me turning up to their office on my day off just to get this escalated to Management, of which he did an awful job managing the situation. I have now moved out of the property but have not received an update or even receipt of the keys returned or anything in over 3 weeks. It has been a back and forth with them for an update on my deposit being returned and I have only been met with very very unprofessional emails from Mandy Cook and Sarah Mchelinney. They’re just the latest correspondence with Bairstow Eves and Countrywide but I have been met with unprofessionalism from ALL their employees being incompetent at customer service. This is absolutely ATROCIOUS and will now be a legal matter. Everything about this has been beyond stressful!!!!

My name is jahed and I was struggling, trying to find a place for me and my partner during the Christmas period. After countless viewings and confirmations from other letting agents which fell through because of disorganisation. I decided to try Bairstow Eves. I found an amazing flat on zoopla and contacted the number. The agent who answered the call was a Liam. After a brief conversation with him, I was able to view and get a confirmation on the property on the same day. He was relentless in trying to acquire the property for me and within a few day had succeeded. I am truly great for his guile and professionalism. It is a shame I can only give a 5 star review. Ian Vernon and his excellent team excelled at selling our home in Croydon. They came highly recommended by my cousin but we were worried as we had two other estate agents who had not sold our house in the last year, despite promises to the contrary. All our fears disappeared after our first meeting. Ian's knowledge and experience of Croydon is outstanding. He made us feel safe and we believed that this time it would happen for us. His amazing team, all of whom were first class communicators and negotiators, never failed to get people through our door and phoned us with excellent feedback and information.
