GoogleSuttons have helped us let out our old house for several years now.
What was intended to be a stopgap for us turned into a much longer term arrangement (due to an unrelated family crisis); at this challenging time for us, Suttons stepped up from providing occasional support and sourcing tenants to completely managing the property, as we were unable to be involved so directly. They were fantastic throughout; it was a great experience.
I trust Suttons to manage all tenants and landlord concerns fairly, to be knowledgeable about the sector and regulations, to provide fair prices for odd jobs on the property and deliver these rapidly, and to remember things I might risk forgetting like renewing the gas certificate promptly on the right date.
They have always sourced and checked tenants thoroughly for us, not rushing to get bodies in as I hear can be the case elsewhere, but working quickly and professionally to find the right match.
They are all courteous and friendly to deal with, on the phone, in person or by email. Things get responded to quickly, and messages get passed across reliably.
I recommend them very highly to you, and frequently do recommend them to friends who are either looking to let a property for some reason, or are seeing a new place to rent.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

GoogleI got my previous property through Suttons. The process was easy and fast.
My only bad experience was that, if you ever have issues with the property they are letting, the agency will not support you in anyway to sort it out especially when the landlord is irresponsive like in my case. In their words "We are only responsible for letting the property and nothing else". Please take note of this before renting a property from Suttons.
Also, avoid houses owned by a landlord called John Gill or managed by Malcolm Smith, they are very irresponsive. They made my renting experience hell and delayed sending my deposit.

Thanks for your recent review, we are still unsure why this negative review was submitted to us, as you had no prior issues with our service when you moved in? As we explained multiple times, this was a let only service and we didn't manage the property throughout the tenancy to which you were fully aware. The landlord held the deposit funds via dps and we had no information following your check out report, as this was done by your landlord. This is quite normal practice with letting agents and we don't get involved in unmanaged properties, especially when we are not covered or paid to do so.
We went out of our way to help assist as best we could in this situation and we contacted both the landlord and the landlords managing agent on your behalf to urgently contact you with an update. This was done and actioned on the same day you contacted us. Your landlords agent then forwarded us all the relevant correspondence as follows;
Good Morning (Friday 26/11/21)
Attached are the 32 photos taken by John when we visited the property following the check out. As you can see, the property had been left in an unacceptable condition. I have forwarded the email that I sent to the tenant after the check out inspection was carried out. As you can see, the Landlord was asking for £250 from the deposit due to cleaning and rubbish removal/disposal. The tenant agreed to send in professional cleaners herself and when re inspected by John alone on Wednesday it was then found to be in an acceptable condition. I was instructed to return the deposit in full yesterday which was actioned at 5.36pm last night.

From what we can see, the frustration was from issues following your initial exit, which you then addressed directly and had your deposit refunded to you in full.
We find it unfair to negatively review a family business due to issues with your let only landlord and not ourselves when we had no control over the situation. Sorry you felt you had to tarnish our good reputation due to personal frustrations.
