Savills Exceeds Expectations

Savills recently helped us purchase a house that we have admired for over 30 years and which we had assumed would never come up for sale in our life-time. To facilitate this purchase Savills managed the sale of our current property, which we put on the market at very short notice, and thanks to their determination, perseverance, energy, market knowledge and advice, we achieved our desired sale and in a time scale that suited all parties. Peter Walker expertly handled both transactions from our perspective and exceeded our expectations as he worked tirelessly to ensure that we achieved the sale we required. We thank Peter and his team and would use them again and would not hesitate recommend them to others.

Top marks!

We used Savills on both our sale (Wandsworth) and purchase (Cobham) and they were without doubt the most capable and professional people we dealt with throughout the whole house selling/buying process. At the Wandsworth end we found everyone we encountered (from administrative assistant through to the head of office) to be efficient, courteous and effective. They did a great job of keeping us informed on progress after every viewing, and quickly found us an acceptable offer, advising us well on the level at which we should reject/accept offers. It genuinely felt like they were acting in our best interests (not always the case with estate agents who want to get a quick sale). When things got difficult with the sale, as they inevitably do, Savills were by far the most energised and helpful in trying to resolve the challenges. At the Cobham end we found our Savills contact to be equally effective. Charles was refreshingly pro-active, honest and direct, and there was a complete lack of the pushy sales nonsense you can often encounter in the house buying game. He was generous with his time, being responsive and helpful throughout, and was excellent at driving things forward to a successful conclusion, often being the "point man" between a number of the different entities involved (not an easy job). He also referred us to a number of other contacts (surveyor/mortgage broker etc) who all turned out to be first class. In summary: very pleasantly surprised - Savills were fantastic at both ends of the process and that is not necessarily what we expected from estate agents. Moving your family and your whole life can obviously be a a stressful business, and we are grateful for everything Savills did to minimise the pain! We would highly recommend using them when you can.

Feedback is an invaluable reminder of the things that are important to our clients so thank you for taking the time to review our performance. We are delighted your experience of Savills was such a positive one. We will be sure to pass this on to the Wandsworth and Cobham offices.

Winchester lied to us.

Winchester lied to us. We were told via email our buyer had no chain as their buyer was from a rental. Based on this we accepted a lower offer!! We made an offer on a house based on this. Weeks later Savills told us our buyers chain had broken down. The agent then lied again until we produced the email she sent us about no chain. Then she produced an email she forgot to sent us !!!!!!!!!!! We lost the house we wanted, time and money!! Disgusting and not proffessional at all.

We rented and bought through Savills…

We rented and bought through Savills Rickmansworth. Fantastic and first class job done by Sue and Graeme in the sales team. You both set examples for other agents to follow in Rickmansworth.However.....I do not tend to do reviews but this appalling customer experience deserves a mention. The rental section of Savills Rickmansworth. Appalling and I second the review a few days back by Reema Rupani of them.Ryan and Oliver recommended to their greedy landlords to try and claim 8,500GBP from us. Way above our deposit monies held. The TDS granted them 400GBP. They both dealt with things in a crooked and underhand fashion which does not bode well with the standard and reputation of Savills as a company. Several mistakes on repairs were made by them and they tried to fob those off on us hence the pathetic undignified claim. They even trespassed through the house and lied that they did not. Good job we have bodies like TDS to fall back on. The mistakes made on works being done, inefficient ways in which repairs were dealt with, lies that were told and nonsense that was fed to the landlords needs to be accredited to Ryan and his team. That was always topped up with a bad attitude and unprofessional customer service from him - the manager apparently- in particular.Your teams needs to be more honest, efficient and shape up - total disgrace!I Sent them these comments in an email 10 days back and..... no reply! If either of you worked for me I'd have sacked you a long while back!Savills. Get some better staff that won't take your reputation to the cleaners.

BEST AGENT

I dealt with Alistair from Savills Ealing. Honestly the best Agent I’ve used in West London. Wants nothing more than happy clients in amazing homes & will go far beyond to make that happen. I never once felt mislead or mistreated or kept in the dark. Initially I found another place with another agent but that fell through. I called Alistair & I was in my dream apartment within 48 hours. Couldn’t of asked for a better lettings agent.

Over Inflated Deposit deduction: STOP RIPPING OFF TENANTS

This is my very first review and I would like to request any tenant in the UK to avoid this estate agent at all costs, they are glorified professional scammers trying to deduct every penny from your deposit. I had a terrible experience dealing with Savills Rickmansworth ( they would only represent the landlord’s interests because they get paid a fee by them), we made the mistake to rent a property without doing our own investigations regarding the regular maintenance work needed in the house we were looking to rent via savills in 2017 Dec - paid a hefty price for that mistake. Our best option was to move out as soon as possible and put the unpleasant experience behind us, The landlord never paid us any compensation to us for all the basic “WHITE GOODS” break down -hob, oven ( fridge/freezer) no functional freezer in the house for 9 months, non-stop maintenance works which included paint work with 2 toddlers in the house, one being severely asthmatic due to paint fumes. The mould in the room was initially hidden by placing their furniture/ bed next to window.I wish to give this a negative star review mark if that’s an option here. Savills are full of liars and unprofessional people working in their firm, am surprised that a company like Savills can even exist in 2019 with all of their malpractices, should have gone bankrupt long time back which can easily happen if they do all this in USA where tenants don’t have the patience levels like us in UK.This review is made because of the way that Savills team have handled my leaving the property in Hatch End and their handling of the return of my deposit. Savills/my landlord have collectively tried to punish us through making unreasonable claims on the deposit. The exit inventory was inaccurate, and most of the claims are excessive and untrue. It was done by a guy called Oliver and signed off by a different person (inventory clerk). We are in touch with the complaints department of TDS despite the tenancy ending in Middle of March 2019. In summary, my advice would be NOT to use SAVILLS under any circumstances.Out of principles I think it is our moral duty to take them to the court and have it looked at by independant legal professionals. This company is known for charging extortionate money from the tenants when they leave the property. I would advice all the tenants to be careful with this company. They are so bad that wish I could give them negative rating who work together with the landlord to get extra money from the tenant. It’s a scam.... I would also urge any tenants who had similar issue with Savills, to please come forward and share your experience. If we don’t take any action now, they will carry on with stealing tenants money from the deposits with their cheap tactics. Why is there no legislation or even a body out there that governs how estate agents operate.

I cant believe what they have asked for me to supply? very intrusive to say the least, almost everything except my inside leg measurement or is that to come? Property Purchasing

It is another return to Savills for our family, we have rented in the past, bought and sold! We are back again to buy, we are mid purchase and I would like to take time to recommend Lynn Ellis of the Harpenden office. I met Lynn for the first time when viewing the property, Lynn gave a warm and professional welcome with her relaxed manner, whilst maintaining a mindful of information on the property. She has been supportive at each stage of the process and has worked exceptionally hard, even when she has been off work. She has been in negotiations with the seller and ourselves to achieve the best deal for everyone concerned. Lynne remains cheerful, and always returns my calls no matter what time of day. Lynne sells property in all the surrounding areas from Harpenden, and her knowledge is outstanding due to her years of experience. Thank you to Lynne and Savills it’s always a positive experience to return.

Claire Reynolds and her team at Savills we’re superb selling our 3 bed flat in Marylebone - incredibly efficient, professional, caring, and hard working. Claire found us a buyer within a week of instructing her and negotiated a very good deal for all parties. She was also very proactive during the conveyancing process and even helped reassure the seller and other estate agent on our onward purchase that all was well. Would thoroughly and absolutely recommend Savills.

Suzy Lambert of Savills is a delight to deal with

Suzy Lambert of Savills is the ultimate property sales manager. She is not pushy, she gives you the facts and lets you make up your own mind. She has integrity and is a model of discretion around the sales process - the fact that she will not divulge confidential info about the other party gives you confidence that she maintains the same wall around your info. What’s more, she is always cheerful and nothing is too much trouble for her. She made our viewing of countless properties over an extended period an absolute delight come rain or shine.

Saville’s

I needed to rent a big property then what I’ve been with for the last 6 years with marshals in Windsor so I found I property with Saville done the viewing lovely just what me and my son needed after loosing my husband few years ago it’s been very hard being a single parent but I’ve worked very hard to give my son what he needs with his father not with us. So Saville started the process for my job I’m a female taxi driver for cooperate clients/ personal clients and also started working with Uber as a second job with the cost of living was getting harder. They firstly email what kind of client I had and stated that I can not allow Uber drivers to pk on the property grounds? I just about have 2 awkward parking space outside a 4 bed hse that I was interested in so I don’t know were my guests were to pk anyway I didn’t understand why they were saying this to me anyway I continued few days later I get a email from a member of staff very late asking me to pay deposit of £600 which I did the next day then the references stated me & my son both were renting the property so everything was all gone through with my son and my reference took longer being self employed so in the beginning I told then my tax return I submitted in January 2025 but it will not show what I’ve been earning from April 2024 that’s were I’ve can show I earn enough to rent the property I was told tax return is no issue it’s just a tick mark for the referencing. its been hard since Covid to get back on track with taxing also my license finished jan 24 and DBS took nearly 4 month to complete with back logs. The reference company also stated they can just look at my bank details for income for last 6 months which shows enough income We had another hse we also like in process if this one was not possible.Cut a long story short my reference was decided as only because of my tax return didn’t showed enough earnings for 23/24Saville’s were only interested in seeing my tax return they didn’t care about my sons earnings/ my earnings from bank details they had which show more then enough.I actually thought about all that had happened they actually wasted our time the made said and done unfairly to me and my son and I found this is because they WERE ACTUALLY RACIST.I’m glad it didn’t all go through I don’t want to deal with people like Saville’s/racist I’ve seen plenty of that all my life and especially in Windsor. We actually found a beautiful property with a lovely estate agent who in a better area and we are happy. But another lesson learned for the books who not to deal with again !

Lettings Property Management - Gus Young

The lettings team has managed my property for a number of years now and I've always found the team to be professional and responsive, taking a lot of care to understand any concerns I have had as a landlord and handled issues with diligence and consideration for all parties. Particularly in recent years, I would highlight Gus Young, who as my property manager I have been really impressed with the level of service, support and attitude that he exhibits in all our interactions and efficient way he deals with day to day property challenges. Would definitely recommend him to other landlords as a great manager.

By far the worst horrendous frustrating experience while letting my property out at Sevenoaks Kent, UK. The team is never available and always on holiday. When you do reach the top management they are not interested either. Either it’s a lazy bunch of people or a badly run organization however I pay the management fees per month and in return they are not even able to get my tenant to give access to property to repair something that is overdue for months and I am keen to pay and fix. Not only am I paying them but I’m also a landlord who wants to make sure her property is well looked after and all they care about is to collect the money and keep the tenant happy and the landlord in utter frustration. Do not deal with this company. I’m an international Renter and I wrongly chose them because I live in Dubai and they have an Office here. But the standards of service are below a Third World country level.

What an appalling company. Where to start. I was interested in renting a property from them and the whole experience has been an abomination. My initial enquiry was dealt with there “ chat bot”. After taking all my details etc I was told somebody would phone me. First time, no call. Maybe excusable. This happened 6 times over a period of a few months. No contact whatsoever.I then out of the blue received an email from them, I replied with a few enquiries and they replied 4 weeks later!I have never spoken to anybody from Savills in 4 months of enquiries now. They are undoubtedly the worst company I have ever dealt, there incompetence and arrogance knows no bounds and there customer care is zero. Please steer well clear of this shower if your selling or buying, there are some great estate agents about, this is not one of them.

Never use Savills to manage your property

I am a landlord who has been so frustrated by Savills' property management services. We have worked with quite a few property brokers in both the US and UK and our experiences with Saviils has been far worse than anything we have experienced with any other firm. We rented out our house last Aug and hired Savills to manage for us. Although we never had any problem with our boiler for four years when we lived there, almost as soon as tenant moved in, high-cost contractors started to be sent into the house for the boiler. Every time, contractors blamed on different parts of the boiler and over 2,000 pound repair cost and nine months later, all of sudden, Savills said we needed a brand new boiler for another 3,000 pound. beyond the boiler, Saviils would send certain high-cost but ineffective contractors to our house against our explicit instruction NOT to use the particular contractor because they charge almost 400 pound once to remove a bedroom door knob and ask for another 300 pound to install a new one. Savills does not care about the costs of the repairs because that's not their money and all the repair costs come out the withheld rent. There have been several cases they would send in a contractor for some very minor things such as fasten a screw and every trip made by contractors would cost a few hundred pounds at a minimum. we complained this to Savills in writing many times and they have the typical big company attitude particularly because they are the ones that hold our rent. They have this highly unreasonable reserve fund from our rent receipts from which they liberally pay outrageous maintenance costs to their affiliated contractors. the staff's attitude is hardline "I don't care" towards landlord and it seems odd that we are the ones who actually pay them for the service. Even when there was a change in the property manager on our house, we were not even properly informed and the former manager just simply disappeared. Anyway, beyond money, it has been an extremely frustrating and stressful experience dealing with Saviils and I wish other landlords don't need to go through any of that.
