Awful experience all round, regrettfully sold with them and *tried* to buy with them too. After promising the world, they did the absolute bare minimum, very poor service, communication from 'my lead sales person' was practically non-existent after promising to 'be there with me' throughout, didn't reply to emails as she'd taken 'personal time' off with no out of office on at a crucial stage, after not hearing back, concerned, I had to contact the office on why there was no news, then other staff took over best they could. They didn't update me with any information on their customer dashboard until I pointed out they were not keeping me informed. When selling their service to me, they promised to do everything they could to help me find a new house, they didn't put ANY suggestions forward until after I became upset with their 'service', despite having a few suitable properties that I liked (I saw on rightmove), all of which they sold to investors... I'd made an offer, trying to buy a low value property with them, I was in a good position to start the process to buy, but my dad was dying in hospital, I was at his bedside, they knew this and failed to give me an opportunity to go to full and final offer on somewhere I'd been clear I would increase my offer for if needed, they gave preference to investors and DIDN'T EVEN CALL ME! Shocking really. The property I'd tried to buy was still on the market months later!! They dismissed my complaint in a patronising fashion, painting a completely false picture of the service I actually received in reality, which they will likely do in response to this review. **Update, they have... may I add, printing a few pieces of paper when you are earning thousands from me, is NOT going above and beyond, and expecting your staff to work in their own time isn't acceptable either, plus they refused to walk literally two minutes to my office to collect solicitors papers when I couldn't leave my work place! BARE MINIMUM EFFORT!** Just a terribly upsetting and stressful experience! I regret having given them the privilege and profit of selling my late Uncle's house and hope no one else has to experience their complete insincerity.

Danielle came round to give us a free valuation of our property so that we could get an idea of what budget we might have for a future house move. She was very friendly and professional, inspected the house thoroughly, and there was no pressure from her to put it on the market or any excessive sales patter. She was well prepared, with research notes for similar properties in the street, and gave us a very clear explanation of how she came to the valuation and what our options were for the future. If we do decide to sell then we will definitely consider putting the house on the market with Douglas Butler.

Had an absolutely shocking experience with DB. Communication was awful. I’d have to constantly chase requests and information. I requested they do the viewings on my house and they ended up doing none. I requested a reduction in fees due to all the problems and got told no. I was told ‘notes say you’ll do viewings’ and when I responded to say the notes were wrong and to reconsider the reduction, I never even got a response. And this was from owner of company. And to top it all off, when the sale was finally complete I get a call saying the key doesn’t work, only to find out they’ve given the purchaser the wrong key, which just goes to show the notes on the file were wrong and they easily mix things up. Would never use them again.

I don't typically leave reviews but credit where credit's due. The team have been nothing but professional from start to finish and made the process of being first time buyers run very smooth. We really felt the benefits of working with an independent agency- they were proactive, attentive and overall everything felt more personable- which is refreshing as some of the more 'mainstream' estate agencies we had visited felt a little more rigid/outdated. We felt the team were transparent and concise from start to finish and as a young couple, they did not take advantage of our age/ lack of knowledge and experience. Cannot fault the communication, we were kept up to date and informed all along and all our feelings (and my emotions!) were carefully considered and respected at all times.
