TrustpilotHighly recommended!
The service and communication we received from Oliver Scott from the Liverpool branch of Adam Partridge was top notch. Oliver came out to view our items, provided positive and constructive comments on what would be of interest, and what wouldn’t. The team at the Liverpool were then very good at checking each individual piece and providing very accurate estimates.
Overall a top team and I would definitely recommend them.

TrustpilotI wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Adam was truly remarkable; I found him to be incredibly understanding, courteous, efficient and approachable. Always replying promptly and politely with care and excellent advice. He was generous with his time and knowledge and at no point did I feel under any pressure or obligation. I genuinely believe that Adam has a great level of knowledge, skill and experience and wants the best for the individual and also for the item. I would not hesitate to recommend his services and will definitely use his company for all future valuations and sales. Thank you very much Adam.

TrustpilotRequested valuations from them
Requested valuations from them, one article was a prized barometer, they said because of the mercury it lowered its value re export to £80
Went for a second valuation and this was far far higher and no problem with the mercury
They are either dishonest or very ignorant regards furniture, in their defence from their 2024 sales results , they don’t really sell furniture, just bits and pieces and their speciality seems to be guns and swords

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your valuation experience.
To help us look into this further, could you please confirm how your item was valued, was this in person at one of our salerooms or valuation events, or was it via email or another method? This will help us understand the context and ensure we respond appropriately.
We would also like to clarify that your comment regarding us "not really selling furniture" is not accurate. In fact, antique furniture features prominently in the majority of our auctions across all four of our salerooms, with hundreds of lots offered regularly. Furniture is one of our specialist areas, and Mr Partridge himself is particularly passionate about it.
If you would like to discuss your valuation further, we would be more than happy to assist.
We look forward to hearing from you.

TrustpilotThis was my first experience with Adam Partridge, didn't know what I was missing!
This was my first time to use Adam Partridge auctions as I usually use Bonhams or Sworders. However, I just need to comment on the incredible service provided by Adam Partridge Auctioneers, from the wonderful items up for auction to the very patient customer service as I was worried about as one always does with international shipments with tyrannical tariffs! I have not been treated with such “white glove” service before from start to the most impressive finish of receiving my item (2) days after leaving your hands & the personal touch of Laura with the package team! Just excellence at it’s best!

TrustpilotNot geared up for large sales
Four day sale but only one day to view!!! Therefore had to rely on condition reports. I am guessing there were lots of condition report requests on the back of the lack of viewing. The majority of these reports were not great, again probably brought about by time constraints and I’ll say it again, lack of viewing time. Collection is also problematic with such a large sale with no slots available on the preferred date. Seems to be at their convenience rather than the paying bidder.

Here at Adam Partridge, we are always sad to hear that someone has had a bad experience with us, and we would always hope to do our best in rectifying any issues that may sour someone’s time with us.Although true that we only offered one full viewing day, we also allowed viewing for all our customers before each sale day, effectively meaning we had viewing available Monday, Friday during sale week. To answer your second point, we allow collection for all our customers Monday, Friday, we only ask that you book in advance, so that our porters can prepare lots in advance. If this were not to be the case, you might find yourself arriving for collection at the same time as all our other customers that were part of the February sale here at Adam Partridge. With all that said, we are sorry that you were displeased with how this sale panned out for yourself, and we can only hope that next time you have a more satisfying journey with us. If you do find yourself unable to make a viewing day, please contact us in advance so that we can discuss a private viewing session.Kind regards

TrustpilotI had some items to sell and went to a session at our local library
I had some items to sell and went to a valuation session at our local library and met Emmeline, who was very friendly and helpful. I received an e-mail informing me when my items would be auctioned and given the lot numbers and a link to the auction, so that my daughter and I could watch it live. It was very interesting and exciting and we were very pleased with the outcome. The amount of commission taken was quite reasonable and we received the balance about a month after the auction.
All in all, it was a very happy experience and I would have no hesitation in selling any other items with Adam Partridge in Liverpool.

TrustpilotI have received an excellent service…
I have received an excellent service from the Liverpool branch of Adam Partridge over the last 12 months. It has been professional, efficient and the staff I have had contact have been friendly and helpful. Emmeline, who initially came to give a probate valuation has been so helpful and supportive at a difficult time. Her professionalism, patience, flexibility and valuable advice when working with a third party is much appreciated.

TrustpilotBrilliant team work from a great company
From our initial contact to today when everything was collected from my fathers house, the team at Adam Partridge have been absolutely brilliant and made it all very easy. Samara needs a special mention as she has been so efficient and lovely to deal with from the start and always coming back to me when she says she is going to. I know when the items go into the auction if will be handled just as well - already been informed some items will be held onto as more suited to a specialist sale at later dates. Thank you to the whole team but Adam for his sense of humour with dealing with us!

Bought an item described as original, when placed on several collectors forums with knowledgeable collectors it was clearly a fake. Asked for a refund and was refused unless I could get an expert in the field to write a report explaining why it’s fake! How can you find any experts willing today do this that would be acceptable to partridges I don’t know.

Please be assured that we take matters like this very seriously. TrustpilotExcellent service from initial request…
Excellent service from initial request for in house P&P, much cheaper quote given compared to other local shipping agents. After the auction, had to adjust my requirement as was more successful in bidding than they had quoted but was given a revised quote that was still cheaper than others mentioned. Package was sent in a timely manner after invoices paid. On arrival which was handled by DHL in a speedy delivery time scale, found that the packing of the paintings was extremely professional with plenty of packing materials and there was no damage. Would certainly recommend the packing team for their good work and the auction house for any extra requests made of them prior to the sale.

TrustpilotAdam Partridge Auction House Shipping
I received my parcel containing a framed and glazed etching from Adam Partridge, Macclesfield (Cheshire) branch today. Buying artwork at auction nowadays can often be pricey, especially where shipping costs are concerned. The whole process of buying, paying and shipping with Adam Partridge Auctions was very easy and straightforward with helpful staff. The framed and glazed etching I bought was shipped using DHL and was beautifully and securely packed. Considering that it was about half the price of using one of the usual shipping agencies, this was excellent value for money. I’ll certainly consider buying from this auction house again. Thanks.

After sorting through things I no longer use, I decided to sell my vinyl LP collection, so I took them to the Liverpool auction house, took them in for initial valuation then waited for the auction - I was very pleased with hammer price of my records, and would recommend the sales room to anyone that has a collection of things that they no longer need or use.

TrustpilotGone downhill quickly
This is such a shame, I have been using the Ruislip auction house for over forty years when it was owned by Peter Bainbridge, when the saleroom was always packed and it was fun to go there. Unfortunately now they seem to think they are Sothebys with a 30% commission rate. I have had a bit of a problem with entering some items which the female (who actually stated that it is her auction house) there who didn't didn't really want to offer my items for sale, but took it in, grudgingly after speaking to Ridley Partridge. On the auction day, I watched online, and when my item came up (which had a value put on by the auctioneers of £50 - £100) the bidding panel showed £30.00 but immediately Ridley asked for £10.00 and in the same breath (not even giving any online bidder the chance of bidding £10.00) he said no sale and moved on to the next lot. When I went to collect my goods, I had to wait for it to be re-boxed and while I was having a conversation with the staff, the aforementioned female started shouting derogatory comments from an upper level, which got me wound up, this ended up with one of her staff pushing me and her shouting at me to get out of her auction house. After some shouting by both parties, I finally left in a very irate mood, which is not usually my character. I'm afraid this place has gone down in my estimate, and several other people that I have spoken to. The fun has disappeared from the place, and you can no longer even get a cup of tea and a piece of cake, like the old days. I wish I could put zero stars

Dear Mr WroeThank you for your review, however, we strongly disagree with your comments and refute your allegations. We have reviewed the CCTV footage and have discussed the matter at length with our colleagues who assisted you. Your behaviour was unquestionably unacceptable including:Violent and intimidating behaviour towards two colleagues.Abusive and abhorrent language, including sexist language, towards a female colleague. Violent actions causing damage to our fire door. Dangerous driving in our car park. We have telephoned you on several occasions to discuss this matter, but our calls have been unanswered. Furthermore, we have contacted you by email but have received no response. Addressing your review in order:Commission rate: This has not increased; it is the same as our predecessors. Entering goods: You wished to consign printer cartridges into auction and were politely and correctly informed by our colleague that it is not what we sell in our Fine Art & Antique auctions. When you protested, she consulted the Auction Manger who, as a kindness to you, agreed to try them in the auction. Auction day: There had been no pre-auction interest in the printer cartridges and the auctioneer opened them low to ascertain if there was any further interest, there was not, and your lot was passed. Boxing: All ink cartridges were in their original boxes and given to you appropriately for collection. You asked for an additional larger box to put the boxes in, this was provided promptly by the colleagues assisting you.Conversation with staff: You were asked, in an appropriate manner, that it would be best for you to leave the premises because you were upset and loudly protested how you would adversely affect our business. Behaviour: The CCTV clearly shows you as the aggressor. You take three steps directly into the personal space of our colleague who was trying to assist you. Our colleagues were not physical with you. Previous customer experience confirms that The London Saleroom has a proactive, friendly and accommodating team and culture, and the Fine Art, Antique, Collector’s and Specialist auctions continue to go from strength to strength and are definitely ‘going uphill’. We look forward to speaking with you promptly regarding this matter.Kind regards,Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers

Dear Mr. Black,We understand that your review is based on your successful purchase of a brooch and a pair of earrings from our London Saleroom. We take this opportunity to notify readers that your review is incorrect and incomplete. Both lots were correctly described as "yellow metal," with no mention of "gold" in the descriptions. When you spoke with our National Manager, you stated that you had "made an assumption" that they were gold, an assumption that was incorrect. Furthermore, you informed him that the description "had not intended to deceive," which is correct, as there was no deception. The review is incomplete because it does not mention that the brooch and earrings were irrevocably damaged by yourself when they were broken down into their component parts. Items must be returned to us in the same condition in which they were purchased. Therefore, your request to return the items was declined both because the description was accurate and because the items had been damaged after purchase. We would also like to clarify that our colleague did not inform you that you are “on your own.” Instead, the reason the items could not be returned was explained politely and thoroughly. At Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers, we are committed to providing clear descriptions and responsive customer service to support our buyers in making informed decisions. We appreciate your understanding of our policies and commitment to accuracy, which help us maintain transparency for all our clients. Kind regards, Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers

We apologise for any issues you may have experienced with the payment link in the first instance; however, we can confirm that your payment link was sent, and this is the method by which you paid for your postage. Terrific personal and professional service from Ridley at Adam Partridge London, who recently travelled a distance to our Wimbledon home to take items (driving his van, like Dad, Adam) for his September sale. GoogleFirst of all I was very impressed with the service overall pre sale.
Adam was brisk in his valuation.
His very polite son came out to collect most of the items which was a great help.
Unfortunately the sale of my items did not take place until a few months after.
And when Adam took the sale it seemed as if he rushed through the mixed boxes, which to my dismay had not been split up. I understand this to a point (current trends etc ) but tbh I would rather have brought them home than to be knocked out for next to nothing.
I understand auctions I’ve enjoyed them for many years but I still feel upset they sold far below the estimate.
The staff in the office have been very good.
And a special thank you to Jim who went above and beyond on my visit today.

GoogleI have been to Adam Partridge auctioneers on a few occasions now and bought ceramics or collected the items after bidding online. Some auctioneers are stoic, some very business like wanting to get the auction over and done. Adam is entertaining - his double act with Jason is fun to watch, they interact with the bidders and that all makes for an enjoyable experience, quite apart from the excellent objects they sell. It is well organised and all the staff are polite, amicable and helpful. They also have the best commission rates for buyers. Momentous!

TrustpilotPostage takes a long time to organise.
The sale was conducted efficiently enough. However:I brought my items on day 1 of a 3 day sale. I received the invoice the day after the sale ended (i.e. day 4), then had to complete an online form for postage. Nothing for a further two days, when the postage quote arrived....effectively a week after the sale. The good Lord knows when I shall receive the goods! Contrast that with another lot purchased on the same day (also a 3 day sale) from a different auction house. They rang me the same evening, I paid over the phone, and the goods were despatched the next day, arriving the day after.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We are pleased to hear you found the sale process efficient but wanted to address the concerns you raised. We typically send invoices after the full auction ends to accommodate customers bidding throughout the event. However, you were welcome to request your invoice earlier if needed, which is something to consider for future sales.Regarding your postage request, we received your form on Saturday 17th August (a non-working day), and provided your quote on Monday 19th August, the first working day following the auction. Your item was delivered on 21st August, just three working days after the auction concluded. We understand the process felt lengthy, but we believe this timeline to be more than reasonable. TrustpilotDO NOT USE. (Updated they listen and care)
DO NOT USE.This lot, dealt with many staff here, don't care. Zero communication, lose items, damage items, don't have a clue about the value of your items, do not market them correctly on site or at auction. On auction day, I had 4, they don't tell prospective buyers what the lots actually are, just the briefest of overview, don't care when trying to sell it and annoyingly don't listen to you and let your items go for a song.I would highly recommend that no one ever use these amateurs.UPDATED JULY 2024I dealt with a very helpful team member here who listened to all my concerns and addressed each one and said he would help the mistakes they made make the team better. He was extremely helpful and understanding and wanted to make sure Adam Partridge came across as a company that does care and does have specialists that know their areas of expertise. I was pleasantly surprised at how much he cared, how much time he took to listen and then to address the issues I raised, a lot of other companies could do well to adopt this approach instead of hiding from negative feedback they addressed and dealt with the issue showing they do care.Although we didn't agree on everything and I still stand by some of the points I have raised you can't complain about a company that acts on feedback.Rating Updated from 1 to 3 starsThank you very much
