Friendly, Efficient, Smooth Transaction

We purchased our new home through Perry Bishop in October 2025 through their Tetbury branch. Their communication was swift and they balanced both their sellers needs and my own well to achieve an offer being accepted. We then moved on to deal with our sales progressor, Sam - who was immense. We received really regular check-in calls from her - and what was nicest was that the first order of business was always ‘how we were’; not just ‘how quickly can we get this done’ - which was a really refreshing thing! When it came to the business though; Sam chased responses for us, offered solid advice and really helped to drive the transaction along. I couldn’t speak more highly of Sam and Perry Bishop in general. I’d highly recommend from a buyer’s point of view!

Avoid Perry Bishop at all costs.

Avoid Perry Bishop at all costs. Our experience with this agency was appalling. We asked them face to face why the previous sale on the property had fallen through, and they deliberately chose to omit the actual reason, that the house had spray foam insulation and was therefore unmortgageable. This blatant lack of transparency turned the entire buying process into a nightmare, caused huge stress, and ended up costing us thousands of pounds more than it should have. We were forced to escalate the matter to the Estate Agents Ombudsman, who investigated and ruled in our favour. Perry Bishop now has a formal ruling against them for their conduct, which says everything you need to know. Buying a home is stressful enough without being misled by the very people who are supposed to act with professionalism and integrity. Perry Bishop failed on both counts. If you value honesty, transparency, and basic competence, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Although our experience occurred two years ago, I’ve since heard of similar issues including the failure to disclose important property information with potentially long-term consequences. Unfortunately, it seems their practices have not improved.

Nothing like that fresh key feeling! Fantastic buying experience with Perry Bishop, Sam helped us through the whole process super smoothly and was just a lovely person to speak with generally. It felt like the whole team really understood our circumstances and knew the timescales of every step. Even though you know as a buyer they represent the seller, it never felt that way, as we were perfectly mediated through the whole process. They recommended external services for the mortgage, surveys and moving companies, of which we went with their recommended surveyor who was excellent. We sorted our own mortgage and moving companies, but amazing to know they had these services on hand if we needed them. Disappointing experience after a…

Disappointing experience after a promising start Perry Bishop initially impressed us with their communication and the way they handled the listing of our property. However, as time went on, the level of communication noticeably declined. We had been emailing the sales manager with no response, only to later discover, after calling the office, that they had actually left the company. At no point were we informed of this change, which left us feeling ignored and uncertain during a critical time. After five months on the market, with no sale and a suggested price reduction from Perry Bishop, we spoke to the new sales manager and agreed to take the property off the market. We were told this would be done the following day. However, after the listing was removed, we received an unexpected £300 fee for withdrawing the property. While this was mentioned in the contract, it wasn’t brought to our attention during the conversation about removing the listing, something that would have been both professional and courteous. It’s also worth noting that many other estate agents do not charge this kind of withdrawal fee, so I would advise anyone considering Perry Bishop to check the fine print carefully and compare terms with other agents. On top of this, we had to notify Perry Bishop ourselves that our home was incorrectly listed as a new build on Rightmove. This mistake may have seriously impacted interest in the property, and it was concerning that we had to spot and flag this error, rather than it being picked up by the agent. Overall, our experience started well but ended with disappointment, miscommunication, and unexpected costs. I would recommend doing thorough research before signing with Perry Bishop or any estate agent.

My partner and I have recently had the pleasure of buying our first home through Perry Bishop and can highly recommend their services. They were really responsive when we were viewing houses in the area, and Anne Marie led a fantastic viewing of what is now our home, unlike many estate agents we’d viewed properties with, she knew the property very well and could confidently answer our questions. Once our offer was accepted, Michelle was enormously helpful in progressing our sale, checking in regularly (without hounding us) and putting our queries through to the seller and getting answers across as quickly as possible. All in all it was a very smooth process which is a relief considering how much can go wrong in a house sale, and Perry Bishop were a huge part of making this a successful move.
