Dean & Sophie (& the rest of the team!) have been brilliant in the process so far of me selling a property. Everything has gone smoothly, my property was on the market within a week of Dean visiting & valuing it, and I was kept in the loop when it came to all the viewings. Luckily for me the property sold very quickly and the lines of communication are still very much open with any questions I have, and vice versa! Abbotts Sales come highly recommended from me!! We recently sold our property in South Woodham Ferrers though Abbotts at Chemsford. We decided to go with Abbotts because they managed to sell our previous property during the recession in 2008. Twelve years later they had maintained their high standards of professionalism, presentation and determination to sell in whatever market you find yourself in. We sold (STC) in a week and Jack and his team at Chemsford managed the process from beginning to end with out ever dropping the ball. We would recommend their premium marketing Pack option, because their professional photograther is outstanding and makes your property stand out from the crowd. If you want to get moving then we would certainly recommend Abbots at Chemsford.

I have rented for almost 20 yrs and Abbotts Lettings is bar far the worst agents I’ve ever had to use. In the 5 yrs I rented from them, they messed up my money numerous times, never telling the owner it was their mistake not mine. They took forever to respond to repairs that were needed. When i moved out they ignored me for months in order to keep my deposit, which luckily I took further & got it back after 6 months, they lied about things when I took it further also. Such a shame. Do not rent from them...

Money loss and poor professionalism

My experience with Abbotts Rental Agency was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Not only did they fail to return our advance rent payment in a timely manner after vacating the home, but they also didn't support us in claiming it back from the landlady, resulting in a loss of our money. Additionally, they neglected to back up the deposit properly and unjustly deducted exorbitant amounts, citing unnecessary expenses such as £710 for cleaning and double payment for tap replacement. This lack of transparency and fair treatment is unacceptable, highlighting Abbotts Rental Agency's disregard for their customers' rights and financial well-being.

Adam Tanner is a true professional who puts the client first. He worked tirelessly to match me with a Mortgage that was best for me. He is detailed, patient and gives the client the true picture. Then again he is not just a Mortgage adviser but also a protection consultant. He would make sure the numbers add up so that when you get the mortgage , you also do not feel the strain. Wow, absolutely amazing team. I was selling a property for the first time and Dean did not disappoint, from the very first time I met him he was super helpful and during the selling process he continuously provided updates to myself and the buyer. I was also recommended the inhouse mortgage advisor, Adam, who did not disappoint, always working with me to find the perfect and most suitable deal. One thing that stood out about Dean & Adam was that they never needed to brag about how good they are, their work did the speaking. Abbotts are really a one stop shop for all purchasing/buying needs, I highly recommend.

AVOID. Read this review first! IMPORTANT: They shove a bit of paper your way asking for a review when you're feeling good about picking up your keys. I would bet they have far fewer positive reviews without this. They'll be great until they get your money, then they couldn't care less. We were promised an extra key, now being told we can't. We were promised it'd be cleaned, flat was FILTHY and they've been useless at sorting anything out. We were promised things would be fixed and now they won't be. We've been lied to again and again, and had ZERO help despite multiple emails and calls. Awful, you'll regret using these guys, made our moving in experience atrocious.

Having purchased multiple properties during my life both in Chelmsford and other counties from estate agents, I can genuinely safely say that this Abbotts branch is by far the worst. They were so poor in so many levels and I can tell this is one of the cheapest agents available in the area for obvious reasons. They are also extremely hard to get hold of and I ended up falling out with staff member due to their poor service, another staff member who picked up my case was better I must admit but even when collecting my keys to the purchased property from one of the admin ladies she was also unhelpful and can clearly see she wasn't interested, neither did she want to be working there. Please don't listen to a lot of fake reviews on here and trust mine as a multiple property owning landlord who has dealt with many estate agents during my time. Would not recommend this branch at the slightest!

We have been renting a property through Abbotts for two years now and we have always been very pleased with the excellent service we have been provided with. The property was shown to us via a video during covid and we were impressed with the professionalism despite the time as well as the great condition in which the house was in. The paperwork was very easy to fill in and Ben, the agent was helping us throughout the whole process. Since then, there have been numerous occasions where we needed a repair or a spare key, and the agency have gone above and beyond. One of the people being Thapelo Kobe, who always responds to us immediately and ensures all of our enquires are answered. Very friendly and helpful which makes it easier for us to reach out for help. All the agents are very friendly in person, always return our calls and they ensure to maintain a good relationship between tenants and landlords. Would certainly recommend :)
