Do not go with this estate agent

Do not go with this estate agent. Got email wrong and contract didn't arrive, photographer turned up with no PPE on and walked into my house, photos mediocre but attention to detail dreadful, took a week for photos to arrive, didn't offer a sale board, house of market for a week no intetest but didnt call any one. Was after a property also with them. No communication dreadful service. Property I put the offer in for I think has now been taken off market and not even a courtesy call to tell me.

Do not fall for their sales pitch

Do not fall for their sales pitch. They were the only estate agents that wanted to charge a £149 upfront fee even though i provided them with professional photos. They told me they had a specific buyer lined up for my property. Months later and not 1 viewing. They now ignore my emails and even though my contract is for multi agent, have told me I will have to pay a their fee if another agent sells in the next 2 years. AVOID USING THIS COMAPNY

Wouldn't use them if there was only one Estate Agent...in the world.

I have previously put my property on the market with Abbotts. Firstly, they were not very good listeners at all. They wouldn't listen to comments about how I knew my house after living there for around a decade (at the time) & when it comes to photographs (on Rightmove) apparently less is more according to them. I eventually removed the property from the market unsold but they had the cheek to ring me one day & TELL ME that I needed to put it back on again with them. They are very corporate, money focused & employ high-pressure generic employees (like them) I get a letter almost EVERY WEEK now it is back on the market again telling me that it's time to list with them. If it feels wrong then don't do it.

So very Bad.

So very bad. When a company insists that a potential buyer prove their monetary situation even before viewing a property, let alone getting to the point of making an offer, it is not only pointless, rude and disrespectful to those who go to them to view a property, but more importantly, does a huge disservice to the people who go to them to sell their property. I assume they are so flooded with sales that they can afford to act in that way on behalf of their clients. Monetary verification comes at a later date once an offer has been made. It's like walking into an auto showroom and proving your bank balance prior to looking! A crazy bad business policy that in this case may have lost a sale for their client.

Unacceptable service

If you are looking to rent a property or planning to let your property like I did then you must avoid this company.Abbotts was managing my property and the entire experience was very very bad. This company has been failing me on every level and I have been very disappointed. My property was left uninhabitable following the tenancy causing great financial burden for me. The tenancy ended 7 months ago and I am still waiting for return of deposit and closure of my books. I have not seen anything as unprofessional and self centred. Please avoid at all cost.

We fully recommend Abbotts Lettings in Chelmsford. We have had a great service from them. I was heavily pregnant when I was searching for a home for my family. I had travelled down from Scotland with my mother as support, we only 3 days available. My husband and I were actually relocating from Ireland. When we found our ideal home with Abbotts, the lettings team were highly professional, paid attention to our needs, and provided a personalised service. The team went out of their way to make our move as easy as possible, and stress free. We are truly grateful, and very impressed. We are still customers! Nothing is or was ever too much trouble. The property management team are also very helpful, and professional in sorting out any maintenance issues. Thank you!

Unsolicited mail received from Abbott's Kings Lynn.They cannot even sell a property similar to mine up the road, but they are quite happy to tout for my business.They search for property addresses from online estate agents because they know their days are numbered. They then promise the earth when in fact they are just parasites who are no better than any other high street estate agent. Avoid at all costs......
